HWA: No one is CUT OFF from going above my head to Christ; or above HIS HEAD to the Father

Pastor General Report 12/05/80

But the Whole World is cut off from God except for Herbert and his cult.

There just isn't enough Herbert for everybody.

The door is open. To ministers. Not lowly members of course.

Just don't challenge Herbert Armstrong.

"''Nuff said".

Going above Christ's head to the Father???????
Christ is our High Priest and intercessor and Savior.
Without Him we have no access to the Father.

Very, very strange statement.

Wow, he sure was an expert at double talk. (Paraphrased) "Anybody can come to me and even go over my head, but don't come to me with stupid stuff that I don't care about. But remember, anybody can come to me." What the heck?

BINGO.

When you take Christ out of the equation - like Herbert so often did, then you lose the entire Gospel. Instead of seeing Christ as intercessor and Savior, Herbert taught we were simply embryonic, and were not yet saved, but were just "begotten" not "born".

Of COURSE you cannot go over Christ's "head" to the Father. Jesus and the Father are one. If you know Jesus, you know the Father. (John 14:7). There is no way you can go over Jesus' head to the Father, because Jesus and the Father (AND the Holy Spirit) are in perfect unity as God! Such a statement by Herbert is pure theological vomit, established only by a business-view and rank-conscious view of God, which was not a correct view of God at all.

Well, we are instructed do pray to the Father.
HWA ignores that there is a church culture of hiding problems from the leader. This protects the leader from moral and legal liability. This phenomenon is rampant in government and industry.

It's a matter of proper etiquette. Jesus is not out of the equasion.

There were always some off the wall comments coming out of Pasadena back in the day, but isn't that the same with all of the other Armstrong cults ?!?!
