1955 Ambassador College Correspondence Course Lesson 4
submitted by SHT
This may be the one "prophecy" uttered by the church that actually came true! The present-day splinter leaders, including Malm and Thiel, all pick and choose what Bible verses they want to use to justify their "ministries." Has the Church of God ever had a more self-absorbed leader who goes to outrageous lengths of using scripture and reams to justify his apostasy than has Bob Thiel?
From Flurry, to Pack, to Weston and on, the various COG's have twisted, wrested and perverted the Bible into a weapon of intimidation and mass destruction. Where would the church be without some arrogant preacher waving his thick bible in the air as he beats his members up with it?
The one thing all COG members are really good at is ignoring Jesus while they justify their actions.

I recall mentally leaving the WWCG while attending a holy day service. It had become plain that what was being preached from the pulpit wasn't biblical morality. And I don't mean specific doctrines, but rather the spirit of the ten commandments. Most of the ministers and many of its members were Pharisees. From that point on, I went 'solo' rather than assuming that the church is always right. Which is the real meaning of the bibles "prove all things."
11:35AM, the ACOGs have been leaving themselves for a couple of decades. Do you remember Rod Meredith blasting other ACOG groups as Laodicean because, unlike LCG, they spent more money on "feeding the flock" than on "preaching the Gospel"? Well, though they try to downplay it, LCG has for several years spent more on internal flock-feeding than on Gospel-preaching. In the 2017 audit, they admit to spending just 38 percent of income on preaching the Gospel, down from more than half, and they now say they spend 55 percent on feeding the flock. This, even though they also go to great lengths of creative accounting to count expenses as preaching the Gospel even when they are really rather far removed. Even with their creative accounting, LCG is now more inward-looking than some of the very same groups Rod Meredith used to call Laodicean!

This phenomenon is similar to 1980s women's libers saying that they didn't leave women's lib, but rather that todays very different women's lib, has left them.
1955? hmmm, that article can apply to HWA concerning the date of Pentecost.
but at least he changed when shown his error.
7:41, HWA refused to admit the possibility that he was wrong on Pentecost until people started leaving the church over that issue. Even in his announcement of the change, he defended his practice of setting doctrine by reading a variety of Bible translations rather than by consulting the Hebrew and Greek texts.
