God's greatest gift to the Church of God has a new screed up about Catholics and dalmatics as if any of his African members truly care!
Using the same deep thinking The Great One uses, we can learn things about the suits men wear in the COG!
Consistent with other historical reports, this admits that the suits worn by deacons, ministers, and church Overseers in the Church of God were not an original Christian practice.
Specifically, Doubly-blessed and Almost-arrested Bob Thiel is admitting:
- The suit and tie was not from the Bible.
- The suit and tie were not an original garment that deacons and ministers wore.
- The source of the suit and tie came from worldly society.
- People had concerns about the tie because it was considered to be phallic.
- The suit became associated with overlords of the church, including including church leaders.
- Because of its ties to politics and power, the suit was adopted by Pastor Generals, Chief Overseers and Evangelists.
- During the time of Herbert Armstrong, it was demanded for use by all males.
But it is not.
Just so Bob Thiel understands how a proper church leader dresses, we present the OTHER greatest gift to the COG:

Is that a picture of Dennis?
Ya don't havetuh call yer ministurd Mister. Nobody called Paul Mr. Paul.
The church had standards of dress. Any standard would have been condemned by someone. You would have to let people run naked to please every last progressive.
“Any standard would have been condemned by someone.”
Well, that’s ACOG churchspeak. Most civilized, open-minded people would simply describe this as people having opinions. This was mooted by Armstrongism, a discipline in which all were required to hold the official opinion. Difference in opinion = (gasp!) “bad attitude”

Oh please. Everyone knows clothes are an invention by gays to cover female bodies.
The worst gays must serve as mullahs or catholic priests appealing ones in italy and france and ones who dont care in mid air as flight attendants.
Real men would only wear kilts as proven by BI. No restraints in certain areas and opportunities to let things run free. Handy being a roaming conquering people.

I never could afford a suit. I remember the minister telling me that if all I had was jeans & t-shirt not to bother coming.
Some of Bob's posts are recycled from time to time, and this is one of them. A few years ago I did a word substitution and James posted it at Painful Truth - the idea was that substituting necktie for dalmatic, or whatever the word is, made little difference.
For prescribed apparel, detailed instructions are only given for the Aaronic priesthood, which also includes the prohibition of non-priests wearing linen and wool together...
Does this mean that Bob will now be giving his rants, naked?
Thiel’s is too stupid to see the silliness of so many of his posts. No one truly cares about such insignificant topics.
I guess that to be technically biblical in our dress we would have to wear buckskin smocks that cover from the shoulders to the knees...and nothing else.
clothing is purely cultural...what one group finds acceptable, another finds scandalous, and so on and so on.
actually, clothing is our "Scarlet A" (or "S" for sin) if you stop and think about it.

MY COMMENT - I can't imagine Jesus Christ making such a comment so why would one of his alleged ministers make such an asinine comment?

Id like to see men and also women, all wear KILTS to church!
Anon @ November 20, 2018 at 6:14 PM asked, "Is that a picture of Dennis?"
Short answer is no.
However, I'm wondering why Bob Thiel doesn't sport a double-breasted suit.
After all, he claims to be all kinds of double stuff.
In fact, the proprietor of the candy store near him told me that they are consistently sold out of "Double Bubble" chewing gum because Mr. Thiel buys most of it.
Apparently, it's a blowhard thing.
Anon 925: I wonder if Bob also double dips?
I don't know about Anonymous 3:00, but I did have a p.o.s. minister (John Cafourek) tell me I can wear a nice pair of jeans to church, but I needed to invest in a good pair of slacks. I guess the ministers were also fashion police.
