If you have ever been associated with the Worldwide Church of God or one of its offshoots, I ask you to prayerfully read this letter.
It's between 25 -30 years now that numerous splinter cults of broke off from the Worldwide Church of God with men who had self-appointed themselves as church leaders and have spent decades lying to followers. From Rod Meredith to Dave Pack; from Ron Weinland to Bob Thiel, Victor Kubik to Gerald Flurry, the craziness knows no boundaries of rational thought. All of them imagine something they call god had appointed them as the one true heir to the COG. Every single one of them have been and still are, liars.
All of these lying con-artists believe that their message is important to the church and that as soon as COG members hear their message, they will jump ship and prostitute themselves at the feet of whichever guru you have joined up with.

God must have been so pleased.Do you remember that history? God put our tithes and offerings to magnificent use, and we were happy to be a part of such a noble cause.
The Ambassador International Cultural Foundation, which Mr. Armstrong founded in 1975, freely sponsored humanitarian projects including archaeological digs, schools and anthropological excursions. Its activities stretched from Bombay to Brussels; the Philippines to the Netherlands; Tokyo to Cairo. We hosted projects in Jerusalem, Jordan, London, Nepal and Okinawa. Why? Because Mr. Armstrong wanted to preach the gospel “for a witness unto all nations” (Matthew 24:14).Ambassador Foundation was one of the biggest con jobs the church fostered off on the world and the church, itself. Tens of millions of dollars of tithe money were funneled into the Foundation in order for Herbert to never have to talk about his god to anyone. The good works of the Foundation trumped God and Jesus at every turn. Using tithe money to restore the Globe theatre in London, the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, helping build the Ronald Reagan Library, operas erecting giant crucifixes in the Auditorium, ballet companies fornicating in the dressings rooms, to talk about a "strong hand from someplace" while witnessing to groups in the Philippines. Yes, that is some gospel message. Jesus must have really been impressed.
Using the international contacts Mr. Armstrong established through the cultural foundation, God opened doors for him to meet high-ranking officials around the world. Mr. Armstrong was invited to speak publicly on many occasions, and he took those opportunities to preach the gospel—to tell people about God’s master plan and about their incredible human potential. These events opened the way for personal appearance campaigns, where he spoke to hundreds of thousands of leading people in various countries.Those "doors" God opened were done by greasing the hands of world leaders with money and expensive gifts, all meant to impress. That backfired with Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth, two people Herbert most importantly wanted to impress. Through it all, he did make some important friendships with some world leaders, something that not one single COG leader today has ever done or will do. Can you imagine Bob Thiel sitting down with the President/Leader of France, Egypt, or Japan? Lord have mercy upon us all!
There is only one reason how Herbert was able to do this and that was because of government in the church. Never has there been a COG so obsessed about government than the Flurry cult.
This is what "god" accomplished through HWA:Now, did Mr. Armstrong do all that? Certainly he worked hard to implement God’s law and government and to walk by faith. But was the work so powerful and effective simply because of Mr. Armstrong’s intellect or advertising expertise? Did Mr. Armstrong swing open all those mighty doors?No—the great God did that!
Family Education
What truly distinguished Mr. Armstrong’s accomplishments was that they were all built upon the foundation of God’s truth. God flooded Mr. Armstrong with biblical understanding, restoring all foundational true doctrine to His Church through that man. We learned and lived by the wonderful truths of God, and our lives were richer as a result.Six months parked in a public library is NOT flooding him with the truth. Plagiarizing other's writings, rebelling in anger with other church leaders, and not working to support his family instead of them living on handouts from others. Yes, that was some "family education". It eventually led all of his children to turn their backs upon him and he died alone.
Due to insane divorce rulings, beautiful marriages were ripped apart by men like Rod Meredith and totally endorsed by Herbert Armstrong. Happy children had their lives destroyed by molestation and various forms of child abuse, including perverse child discipline polices. Children were sexually abused and beaten by various Imperial School teachers and administrators over the decades. It got so bad HWA shut Imperial down and then later, tragically reopened it, where the abuse started all over again.Right at the heart of Mr. Armstrong’s teaching was his instruction about the God-plane institution of family (Malachi 4:5-6). He taught us how to build beautiful marriages and to rear happy children. We educated our children with Youth Educational Services lessons; we provided our teens rich experiences through the Youth Opportunities United program—with its sporting events, talent shows and summer camps.
All one needs to see is the various horrific stories shared on various Facebook groups of the disgusting behavior that went on in far too many families to know that what Flurry writes above is a bald-faced lie.Do you remember what life was like in the Church under Mr. Armstrong? If you were applying God’s family education, then you have personally experienced the blessings that come as a result! Do you remember that?

Naturally, the Church wasn’t perfect; there were problems. Some members and even ministers did not implement God’s loving family government the right way. But the problem went beyond simple neglect. Revelation 3:9 tells us that “the synagogue of Satan” was actually at work within the Church of the Philadelphia era—under Mr. Armstrong!All of the crap that happened to tens of thousands of members was for one reason only, and that was to test the members and the church. Instead of following a God that lives in grace and mercy, Armstrongism followed a pissy god that was always mad and willing to push people over the edge just to test them. How disgusting is that kind of teaching? Not for the Church of God!
But never fear, there was a higher purpose going on. HWA was the Elisha/Elijah that had come in the flesh, just as Gerald Furry and Bob Thiel have taken on that mantle. Flurry now holds that "father" office and because of that, you too can now be a King.
Some people didn’t see Elijah’s office as one of importance, but Elisha saw that it was the only office that could lead and carry Israel forward! It was Israel’s only hope—then and now! He saw that, ultimately, all Israel would be governed by the teachings of Elijah. His statement, “My father, my father,” revealed a deep understanding and a beautiful attitude. God liked it so much that He used Elisha to succeed Elijah. God loved his attitude.
Some people today scoff at such an attitude, but it is very biblical. The Apostle Paul told the Church members in Corinth, “I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you” (1 Corinthians 4:14). Paul considered his followers to be his spiritual sons. Why? “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel” (verse 15). Paul was their spiritual father because they came to God through him. He called himself their spiritual father.Mr. Armstrong said the same to all of those who came to God, either directly or indirectly, through him.
It will be a cold day in hell for anyone who follows Gerald Flurry or any of the other liars currently leading the major COG's out there. Not one single group points anyone to God the Father. Not one. They can all lie, as they do without regret, that they are doing God's work and leading people to him, but they are not. Self-appointed and self-absorbed men cannot do that.The original Elijah and the end-time Elijah held extremely important “father” offices for God. The Philadelphia Church of God, like Elisha, recognizes that fact. This is the foundational issue that sets the pcg apart from any other Church of God group. If you follow the Elisha example in this respect, God will make you a king with a headquarters position forever. Why? Because this foundational truth points us to God the Father.
Do you want to know how to do the work of God today? How to have doors open for you—even rivers, if necessary? Here is the formula. Elisha knew where the God of Elijah was, and he was following his spiritual father. So God opened up the river for him, just as He did for Elijah.
Where is the God of Elijah today? Where is the great Almighty God who did that powerful work?
Can you answer that question? Far too many of God’s people aren’t even asking it!
What power does Gerald Flurry have? Or Stephen Flurry? How many world leaders have they met? How many "rivers" have opened for the Philadelphia Church of God? Other than endless swarms of earthquakes, not one single spiritually good thing has ever come out of PCG.God did not die with Mr. Armstrong! Yet none of the scattered churches of God have that kind of power. They don’t receive and proclaim God’s revelation. They don’t have the right government. And their works are frankly devoid of the kind of miracles and wonders that were almost routinewhen the work was led by Mr. Armstrong.
All baptized members of the Church of God during the Philadelphia era will be held accountable for the fact that they were with that God for so long. The tragic fact is this: Not only have most of God’s people left Him—most of them are not even interested in where He is! If they wanted to know, they would submit to God’s government and end up in God’s true Church.Utter bullshit! No real Christian would be part of Gerald Flurry's group or any of the other major COG's out there today. It is an impossibility to be Christian and be part of most of these groups. Submitting to Jesus Christ and resting in that grace will NOT lead anyone into an Armstrongite Church of God. It just can not happen.

God is no more working through Flurry than he is with Bob Thiel. No new knowledge has been revealed, through dreams or visions to either of these self-appointed prophet wannabes. Not one single thing!That is the single greatest proof that the God who inspired Mr. Armstrong is behind our work.

I will not detract from the intended message.
I worry a bit about the "Okinawa" quote in the letter. Not many people are really aware what aspired there. And I am about the only one to have shed light on that on this blog. So either Flurry's ghostwriters are reading this blog. Or he is just exagerating the radio broadcast there aimed at the US troops as of course Radio Luxemburg was situated next to the US army bases deployed to hold the Soviets if the Reds had decided to use the Fulda Gap for ending the capitalist menace on their doorstep.

I suspect at Gerald's advancing years and no fulfillment of all that he thinks must be including the Second Coming of Christ is pushing him into a nostalgia for what I am sure he perceives as the Good Old Days. He will pass from the scene just as all other WCG luminaries have and will without all the prophetic fulfillments they just knew would come in their lifetime. Dave Pack will go through the very same process in time. "And thus is shall be fulfilled, 'The First Generation founds it. The Second Generation maintains it. The Third Generation loses it." In Dave's case, there is no Second Generation to maintain it and no one who would want to among the ever shifting Council of However Many Are Left I suspect. Nor could they.
It occurred to me that Bob Thiel is not a prophet in any sense of the word even though I personally don't believe in such kinds of people with such kinds of abilities personally. The implication of a knowable future to me leads to being merely a robotic player on someone else's stage and I just don't think the future is there to be divined. Religious zealots try to as a function of their own fear of death and the ever popular question "What's going to happen to ME?" Some, no doubt, $ee other personal benefits and gain from pretending they can see the unseeable future. But my personal conclusion is that Bob Thiel is not a Prophet but is an Obsessive Prophecy Buff. He pre-dicts nothing. He merely notes events he thinks could fit into the story he has in his head about the world he thinks he lives in.
He is not exactly the "Thus saith the Lord" type of prophet. To date he has not pulled a Ezekiel 4 playschool siege of Jerusalem, lain on his side for 390/40 days as commanded nor baked bread using human dung for either fuel or as an ingredient to symbolize a bunch of stuff. (Human dung does not burn so I personally think "Ezekiel Bread" of today is missing one very poopy ingredient:) Anyway, Bob is no Prophet. He is a Prophecy Buff.
The Nostalgia is strong in this one. I suspect it is nostalgia that keeps many in the splits and splinters in their seats keeping their disappointments, doubts and fears at bay for now.
I believe what keeps the old lifetime ministry in place is a combo of personal conviction as to the still true church nature of their beliefs and the fact that there is no place to go, no retirement to have and no one to talk to about their own nostalgia, regrets and fears. Dave Pack does not worry about retirement because he has one in being the "send it in" guy over his cult. The ministry is at his mercy, common sense and generosity, all of which he is not known to possess.
PS Bob Thiel's idea of a Prophet is one who reads online news and asks questions about whether it could or could not be relevant to his mistaken and contextually hijacked views on the topic of Biblical prophecy. Back in the day the warning to young men in ministry in actual seminaries was "Try not to read the Bible like you would read a Newspaper. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble." This is Bob's way of being a prophet.
Social ills and ideas or behaviors different from those he approves of become somehow prophetic possibilities. He's not gutsy enough or even stupid enough to declare something with a date on it making the same mistakes Pack, Flurry and Weinland make over and over to the amusement of all outside of their grasp and embarrassment, doubt and denial to those within it. Voting with feet is still the preferred method of self expression in the splinters.
Read though Bob's daily list of topics that speak prophetically to him. He selects relevant, to him, news that might signal some prophetic possibilities in his mistaken views. He picks a few things that show the depravity of humans. Currently he's not happy with genetically modified pig with monkey DNA as a possible route to growing human organs for transplant. Of course next he fears Human-Monkey chimeras but I got news for Bob. You already are one if you get my drift. Apes are your cousins and it's in your DNA. We already are the "Humanzees" that you fear flies in the face of God and bodes ill for humanity. Well the bodes ill thing might be true from the ape's point of view.
8 million copies of the Plain Truth were PRINTED each time, but saying "circulation" after the number was a falsehood. Many, many of those magazines were placed in newsstands and possibly never read nor even looked at. I remember someone who kept filling those newsstands expressing a suspicion that there were people out there looking for them, and EMPTYING them, throwing all the magazines away.
Flurry then boasts of the circulation of his magazine -- less than 3% of 8 million, and seems to expect you'll be impressed by his number just the same.
The DO I REMEMBER portions of this comic monologue seem to dwell solely on what was done with MONEY. I sent in A LOT of money and got very little in return for my "investment," a term callously misused by the ministers. A Thank You was all I got, given en masse in a mass-printed letter. An anonymous Thank You that ol' Herbert could go all these places and meet all these people and, we were falsely assured, accomplish things for God.

I'm not aware of any major ACOG that teaches that Christ leads members directly ie, with no middlemen ministers involved. This is the sin of Moses which deprived him entrance to the promised land. Yet the ministers have no fear of usurping Christ's role by hiding that the splitting of the veil in the holy of holies on Christ's death gives everyone direct access to God. The "Was Ezekiel told to put human dung in the mix or was he told to cook with it?" question has raged since the story was told. Correct. He begged off for undisclosed reasons and got a reprieve. Perhaps he could not stomach, if this really occurred, the idea of smoked shit bread or real human shit bread. Disease might have played a role although I am not sure he would have understood the principle. The point to be made was that Israel was to experience captivity and be unclean. Ezekiel also was fearful of himself becoming defiled in the process of obeying the original command. He seems to feel he'd be ingesting it although maybe he knew even getting smoked in human shit would do a defilement job on him. This version opts for the dry it out and cook with it version. How long it takes to dry human dung I know not. Other versions go for the add it to the ingredients.
Ez 4:12 Prepare and eat this food as you would barley cakes. While all the people are watching, bake it over a fire using dried human dung as fuel and then eat the bread.” 13 Then the Lord said, “This is how Israel will eat defiled bread in the Gentile lands to which I will banish them!”

Ezekiel also equates the problem with eating animals that died of illness or killed by other animals and perhaps lay too long as road kill. Shit food was probably forbidden by the law :)
Either way, the "I'd be defiled by using human dung and you know it God" got him off the hook. God caved.
I'm not an expert in shit food preparation either in the cooking or the recipe dept.
Sometimes, I admit, I don't know shit. :) We can never know, I suppose, which version of the recipe was the correct one. Because of Ezekiel's fears of defilement and his list of things he had not eaten as forbidden etc, , I tend towards the recipe rather than the stove top version.
But once again, I can't explain why sheep poop pellets, cows poop pies and elephants poop hayballs, so sometimes I simply don't know shit.

PS When God caved into Ezekiel's protest, the whole point of the story goes down the clapper as well. The point was evidently to symbolize the defilement of Israel and their going into captivity. Once the menu or cooking fuel was switched, that was the end of the analogy. Everyone cooked with cow pies because of their high straw and dried roughage content that burned nicely when dried. Perhaps the point was that in captivity they would have little acceptable fuel for cooking so get used to human waste to cook with. But again, Ezekiel equated whatever the recipe was with defiled eating. I suppose poop smoked food qualified just as much as it being one of the ingredients.
The God of Ezekiel's imagination and voices in his head did ask him to do some pretty ridiculous things as a prophet so it would not be beyond the situation to include human waste in the ingredients either.
Today a man like Ezekiel would be put on medication under supervision I expect.
I did meet many a prophet in my visits to mental health facilities (I'm being politically correct here) on any number of ministerial how can I help you visits of the past. One told me I didn't know it but I was an Angel and not human. (I have known this for years lol)
One got incredibly offended and angry when I told him I was uncomfortable with his hooded scripture robe that he wore when out on the street declaring the end was near etc. He was wanting to come to the local church in NY. I said we could continue to talk when he calmed down and I'd be back if he wished. He blocked the door, raised his fists and told me. "I know Karate!" Hmmm....sounded like a threat to punch me in the mouth. I looked straight into his eyes (I'm a lover not a fighter) and said "Excellent! I just came from my Third Degree Brown Belt class, which I truthfully had. We exchanged knowing stares and did my best not to say "give it your best shot." He believed me, as well he should have, and moved aside. I went down the stairs to my car and heard him halfway down the street raging about it all.

Also David Fraser is no longer a minister and his son was also disfellowshipped. I think the students at college are wising you to the gimmicks of the PCG and realize that they are being used whilst only the ministers kids are being rewarded.

David Fraser hasn't been a minister for years. His brother Gareth Fraser was just recently removed from the ministry. Gareth's son, along with another AC student was just marked and disfellowshipped at the Feast. Gareth and David are the sons of Ron Fraser.
