Should COG Leaders Be Prosecuted For Refusing To Cancel Sabbath Services?

With Dave Pack, Bob Thiel, Gerald Flurry and other Church of God's refusing to cancel church services and church activities, they run the risk of this happening and then having the State come in and really raise hell. Of course, they will scream persecution of the true church, but it will be the result of their own arrogance and stupidity.

Nearly 3 dozen who attended church event test positive for coronavirus

Nearly three dozen people who attended a recent children's event at a church in Arkansas have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to church officials.
Donald Shipp, a deacon at First Assembly of God church in Greers Ferry, about 75 miles north of Little Rock, told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that 34 people who attended the event in early March at the Cleburne County church had tested positive for the coronavirus, and that an unknown number of others were awaiting test results.

Danyelle McNeill, a spokeswoman for the Arkansas Department of Health, said a number of coronavirus cases have been associated with a church in Cleburne County, which she did not identify.

"We are still investigating newly reported cases and can’t definitively say they are all connected to one church," McNeill told NBC News on Thursday. "This is a cluster within a larger outbreak in that area of the state."

There were at least 310 reported coronavirus cases and two deaths in Arkansas as of Thursday morning.

Mark Palenske, a pastor at the church, said in a lengthy Facebook post late last week that he and his wife, Dena, were among those to test positive for coronavirus.

He said that when such a virus spreads on the other side of the world, "your first inclination is to assume that time and distance are on your side."
But "that false assumption" recently caught up with him and his wife, he said.
The couple and dozens of others from their church initially could not get tested, according to Palenske.

"One local doctor had a very small number of commercial tests and the rest is history, I suppose," he wrote.

He said that before even receiving positive test results, the church had followed medical advice and canceled services.

The couple's symptoms began with headaches followed by intense body aches and lethargy, as well as waves of chills, sweating and nausea, Palenske wrote in his post.

"Dena had a very scary morning a few days ago, which included a seizure of sorts and required hospitalization," he said.

His wife's condition has since improved and they are both back home, he said. Palenske said he could not pinpoint "where the virus came from."

"Even though we were the original positives, there are people who have been sick longer than we have," he said. "It clearly made its way through a special weekend of children’s ministry at our church."

He requested that people pray for health care workers, and he advised that people "take this medical threat more seriously."

"Maybe you assumed that it couldn’t happen to you, just like I did," he wrote. "Please adhere to the social instructions that you are receiving locally and nationally."

Churches like the Flurry church have canceled sabbath services.

What is offensive and objectionable is that their official statements say that they do this "in compliance with government regulations" while these asshats keep broadcasting their murderous preaching that they do not agree with the scientists and governments that are actually saving these free riders.

These cults are a mockery of humanity and mock those dying in New York, California, Bergamo and Spain by their anti human godless preaching.

I don't know that anything can be done about this. We've always known, but few members would admit, that Armstrongism as a movement does not act in its members best interests. The leaders don't know the meaning of such a higher concept. They only know a tainted meaning of the word "authority".

As in the military, members are seen as a consummable resource. One would think that in a church environment, members would be more than cannon fodder. But, that would be a transcendent concept, and the ACOGs somehow never, ever transcend.

My spouse at RCG has not missed any services since this whole coronavirus thing started. They believe that they won’t get it because mr pack says so. They are gods chosen people and they are protected, from what I’m told. So off to Wadsworth they go and then share a quaint meal afterwards. If my spouse gets it, I’d like to sue dave for being so willfully negligent and endangering so many others.

7:58am Try your best to get any written documentation from Pack that you can. Documents mailed to your spouse telling members to keep coming to events, that God will protect. If something does happen those will come in useful.

Actually, the PCG on their programs are quoting scientists, so obviously you are not listening in.
This season in America, over 23,000 have died from the flu compared with 533 from the coronavirus. Not forgetting the more than 3000 that die every day from cancer or heart disease.
The mainstream media paints a deceptive picture.

9:31am I'd be interested in learning where you get your information because the news says that the deaths from COVID-19 in the U.S. is pushing 1500 and it's only just begun. With no vaccine in site.

While I agree with you about the scare mongering by the MSM that's no reason to dismiss this as nothing.

Please return to this topic and apologize just before you die with shredded lungs dinwit hidden on your compound as military vehicles are collecting the dead here "around the corner" while you whine about media bias I do not need to verify the facts.

I think 9:31am is Norbert Link!

In that case I apologize. Norbert would not be in the know of who is dying by covid in the cog local congregations. He is the type of guy that likes to oracle about abstracts like "the millions" rather than close relations.

My beef is with those who know their local statistics and still preach in denial not with self agrandizing dimwits who choose to ignore the Spanish, Italians and the New Yorkers whose "500" will be a daily number real soon for weeks.

Flu season is drawing to a close. Since the corona virus was and currently is active during Australia's summer, we can infer that it is not affected by the seasons to the degree which "normal" flu seems to be.

Many cases of Covid 19 were most likely masked by the normal flu season, so very possibly numerous deaths which were attributed to the flu were in reality due to Covid 19 prior to its detection and proper diagnosis. All I know is that organ harvesting from donors is currently on suspension, as are funerals, and other events related to death and hospitals.

It just boggles the mind that people would eat bats. Even Ozzie admitted that he ended up biting the head off a bat because he thought it was a plastic toy thrown up on the stage. But people do strange things with animals. Didn't syphilis come from people screwing llamas?

Still, the pandemic seems to bring out the best in so many people. One of my best customers gave me a whole case of toilet tissue today! So grateful because starting sometime Sunday I was probably going to be using paper towels.

If you do have to resort to paper towels do not flush them. There has been an increase in clogged sewage systems because of idiots flushing papertowels, napkins etc. Even flushable wipes aren't made for the amount required for number two hygiene yet morons are flushing them too. One thing this crisis has done is show just how bright most people are. Not very.

Finally, finally .. Last night the ministers told the RCG members in Europe, the UK and some of the states (not all of them!) in the USA, that they ‘may keep the Sabbath service at home’.

I think David Pack finally gave in because more and more RCG members dared to protest against assembling and keeping services in a hall. Good for them!

The ministers did also handed out very strict orders on how to keep the service at home (including a long list of hymns that should be song) and strict orders about clothing (being the usual black and bland Sabbath attire). Oh, and don’t forget about the tithing and holy day offerings! Because God blessed us and will keep doing so if we keep giving our money .. It will pay off, because He will spare his special little flock from the Corona Virus!

My spouse is going to Wadsworth right now, damn the severe thunderstorm warnings and coronavirus. Can’t wait to worship Dave no matter what! He is so superfantabulous! Thanks Dave for risking the lives and health of my family. Personally, I know you are a mentally deranged person.

10:13am I know Dave's sister-in-law and nephew well, they would agree 100% with you.
