In order to trigger catastrophic events that could wipe out humans from Earth, the asteroid should have a diameter of over 10 kilometers. (6 miles ).  Although asteroids that range from 1 to 10 kilometers wide can certainly cause a lot of destruction on Earth, they are not powerful enough to make the entire planet completely uninhabitable. So we know WORMWOOD must be very small

Notice that Wormwood does not fall until after the third trumpet associated with the seventh seal of Revelation is blown. Well, this would mean that the fifth and sixth seal would also have already been opened–which are mentioned in Revelation 6:7-17, and the 144,000 numbered as shown in Revelation 7. And I should add that the fifth seal of Revelation cannot possibly be opened for at least 3 1/2 years from now .

But also notice that somehow Wormwood makes water bitter.

This could be because it may be a comet as opposed to an asteroid. Comets tend to come with cyanogen gas–when that mixes with water to form hydrogen cyanide, it has an almond odor and bitter taste."

(NOTE:  A comet may have hit the Earth over the ice sheet in Michigan as little as 12,800 years ago, melting vast amounts of water and sending it into the North Atlantic causing the Younger/Dryas return to a 1200 year cooling event. The Carolina Bays may be evidence of ice splatter from that impact on the ice sheet.  This event may have been the cause for the extinction of the mega fauna roaming America as well as the Clovis culture . 

Lidar images of the eliptical Carolina Bays all pointing SE to NW. There are over 500,000 of these in the Carolinas and not notably visible from the ground.  But , along with the Nebraska Rainwater Basins, all point to a possible Comet impact or air burst over Saginaw Bay, Michigan.  This hypothesis is currently gaining ground.

"The belt is estimated to contain between 1.1 and 1.9 million asteroids larger than 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) in diameter, and millions of smaller ones.)" in the Asteroid Belt alone.  This does not include the even larger Kuiper Belt and Ort Cloud 

My personal Baby Wormwood before slicing with burn crust from its 25,000  mph ride through the atmosphere.  This is a Campo Del Cielo (Field of Heaven)  meteorite that fell about 5000 years ago in Argentina and was found in the 1570's . It is a piece of the 60 tons found to date strewn over an 18 mile path. 

Mere pounds of my own Baby Wormwood sliced to reveal it's Iron/Nickel self. This came from the core of a star or more likely the core of a small planet that was destroyed by collision in our early solar system formation.
