Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders
An authoritarian cult with a malignant narcissist at the helm perfectly describes the now defunct Worldwide Church of God. I also liked what Dr. Hassan said about friendly questioning. He is absolutely right about most of the folks in political and religious cults being immune to factual information and viewing those who present such information as persecuting them.
Why isn’t Gerald Flurry, if the PCG not committed to a mental institution. He admittedly hears voices that tell him he is the new king. He rips apart and destroys families in order to keep as many as possible in his cult, he extorts members of their money and he controls pretty much all aspects of their lives through his “government”. I believe the PCG is the most extreme WCG off shoot. They literally worship Herbert Armstrong: Armstrong college Armstrong Auditorium Armstrong preforming Arts Armstrong international cultural org Armstrong School of Dance . Armstrong Institute of Biblical Archaeology Armstrong Club (this is their spokesman’s club) Armstrong Arts Dwight Armstrong Preforming Arts Conservatory Grant turgeon (Flurry’s grandson) named his daughter Loma That’s obsessive craziness!
Steve Hassan lost credibility in my opinion when he was calling anti-vaxxers cultic, when he was never critical of the authoritarian vaccine response, he went blind and chose the safe side, the side that wouldn't cause him to be an outcast, he was an ally to mainstream media, an ally to the propaganda. He was apart of the smear campaign raged against anyone who made a decision to be responsible for their own bodies. I didn't expect that from a so called cult expert.
I agree, but I do respect the info in the two books he wrote, freedom of mind and the other one. I guess I just learned to pick and chose what information I believe. I will never again have one source of information after Armstrongism.
