Check out this word salad from Gerald Weston:
There were 2,307 orders for Lesson One of the Bible Study Course last week, and February saw 245 GOTOs—individuals who ask about baptism, counsel, or Sabbath Services in their areas. We know that most people who order the Bible Study Course do not finish it, but those who do are more likely to become serious GOTOs. And while most GOTOs do not follow through to become members, a certain percentage do and that is why these two stats are so important.
Notice how LCG never shows what percentage of these people actually become members. LCG has dropped hundreds of millions of dollars over the years on people who are ultimately no-shows. Talk about tithe money being unwisely spent!

NO2HWA, please be fair and think things through.
Yes, LCG is a dumpster fire and Armstrongism is an outdated bunch of lies.
But if you are a true believer, doesn't it make a lot more sense to spend tithes and offerings promoting your teachings instead of on Irish dancing or horses and real estate? And now that COGWA is making noises about building an Auditorium of their own, don't you think we should give UCG and LCG at least some credit for not rushing to build mini-Herbal Auditoriums of their own?

Well, maybe there is a good kernel of corn hidden deep inside a given bowel movement.
God is a god of opportunity. So the number of people who step forward doesn't necessarily equate with the success of the endeavor. After all, Noah warned his generation, yet how many responded?
Well, they should have an effective outreach program to ensure future growth. This seems more like a start than a 20-30 year old program. Most of the ACOGs seem enmired in HWA's methodology, and times have certainly changed. Basically, these groups are going to need to demonstrate that their message is relevant, and that if practiced, it works in members' lives. HWA had the relevancy thing going on, but I'm not sure that the doctrines and practices ever improved members' quality of life, sense of well-being, intensity of belief, or any of the normal measurables one expects from one's religious beliefs and practices. There are competing Christian denominations that do a much more effective job of this than does Armstrongism.
Armstrongism could never be described as "prosperity gospel". It provides a life of asceticism, through its rituals and practices, and the financial demands. And there is the litany of failures in the area of understanding prophecy hanging around their corporate neck like a dead albatross. They've got an uphill battle getting past the known negatives.
Isn't GOTO the same spelling as Mr Armstrong's Japanese 'friend' Mr Goto, back when HWA was papering prominent 'dignitaries' with millions of tithebucks in the name of "taking the Armstrong-Gospel to the world"?
What will the LCG GOTOs think when they find out about Mr Goto?
They will say "Goto get outa here!"
What will these GOTOs think when they find out LCG teaches very shaky Conspiracy-theories like "Anglo-Israelism" and the "gospel was suppressed for 1900 years" phantasmagorical nonsense
They are not Noah. There are no fruits to indicate “they are operating in the spirit of Noah.” Their fruits are immorality in their congregations wrapped up in a vaguely ominous American right wing message.
is that what John Lennon meant by : "sitting on a cornflake"
Did he though? You won't find that in Genesis.
You might find however, about Noah, in 2 Peter 2:5.

Sure it could. Prosperity for HWA.
This church will get it all totally wrong. There were no suicide shooters and nobody shouting "God is great." That right there pretty much rules out ISIS. The USA was behind it and is blaming ISIS to deflect the blame away from themselves.
I’ve never posted on here before , but I have to now.
What does GOTO stand for??
Also read their booklet on tithing and financial success, they link giving money to them with God's blessings. It may not be the same method as others, but it is certainly the underlying message. "You can't outgive God" nonsense.
It is not just goto's that are churned. How many members, even long term ones, are shown the door. I am glad, after around 20 years, that I woke up to their idol worshipping (HWA, RCM, GEW) nonsense.
I have the same question. Goto, goto the bank?
For the gotos, first they learn about Armstrong, then worldwide, then ambassador college, Meredith, then Jesus Christ
Actually, Mr. Goto died years ago. Not sure how he might be getting hooked up with LCG posthumously. He wasn't a Dibar Apartian type that everyone looked up to!
5.51, Spot on. No matter how long a person has been a member, no matter their contribution, once members become "old and gray" and can no longer be milked, it's out the front door, or walk on egg shells before the minister and his boot lickers.
Members are always (secretly) chattel in the eyes of the higher ups.
It's pathetic that dogs are more loyal than 'gawds' ministers.
I’m sorry if someone already answered and I missed the response. What is a goto?
I assume GOTO is an inside term for a prospective LCG member who ultimately declines joining LCG?
But what about Mr. Osamu Goto, the Japanese liason for HWA, who tried to lure Bobby Fischer into snuggling with escort girls? Bobby says he declined that too, & ultimately married a female Japanese chess champ, Ms. Myoko Watai who retired with Bobby to Iceland.
Banned by HWA site not long ago introduced us to this informative podcast from Ms. Tricia Jenkins who grew up in the WCG during era of oppressive hypocrisy mish-mash for some members, while pious levels into hierarchy were available for others in WCG's "in-crowd" cliques.
Here in episode 1.7, she replays lost tapes of ex-AC students for the "Ambassador Report" interviewing world chess champ BOBBY FISCHER just after he departed HWA's shell game of high stakes exclusive lifestyle, including church-sponsored, tithe-financed "tours of duty" in Japan led by HWA's aide, Mr. OSAMU GOTO.
(Bobby faitfully tithed HUGE sums of $$$ to WCG from his winnings in top-level chess tournaments, only to see evidence of hierarchy squandering it, all in the name of spreading the gospel)
At time stamp 19:05, Bobby Fischer on cassette tape interview in mid 1970s, explains who Mr. Osamu Goto was!
Someone should thank Tricia Jenkins for securing these exclusive cassette audio recordings :
