It is not easy being a Church of God self-appointed prophet

The Flurry of false profitsy and apostolic innuendos is, well, prophesied.

I watched this video, sort off, almost, no not really, but maybe some of it, kind of, not sure, however, no I did, maybe next week, if it rains, should be accurate, no problems, denotes the truth, saw it some where, off the cuff, don’t believe me believe your Bible.
I really didn’t think being a cog prophet was such a difficult task. After all I have a steady income a private jet……..it’s just sometimes I get it wrong. Which means I don’t always get it right.
It’s knowing the difference that is the real issue.
All is vanity….as it is written lol.

What amazes me is how quickly Gerald Flurry turned into a Trump critic.

Less than two weeks after the President returned to office, The Key of David had a show called. "President Trump betrayed Israel" - saying he "caused a catastrophe... catastrophic error."

Some other writers are as gutless as Flurry. They do not put their actual contact information out there. So they safely spread crap and then hide behind the censor(s) and act like they have the answers.

Armstrongism has preached for decades that the USA and other Anglo-Saxon, English-speaking nations are going down, to be defeated and taken into captivity because it's our punishment for our ancient ancestors having forgotten our true national identity as members of the ancient tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim, and we descendents today are not keeping the laws handed down in the Sinai covenant. Since it's God who is orchestrating the punishment, it is inevitable, and probably within the next 3-5 years. But, wait! You, too, can be part of a special, called out group, with advance knowledge, that will be counted worthy to be protected in a place of safety even as your uncalled loved ones, colleagues at work, and neighbors are all enslaved and tortured. And then, after 3-1/2 years, Jesus will return. Rejoice! Rejoice!

Does anyone else find it just a little disingenuous then, that ACOG leaders and members of today would be looking to President Trump as some sort of savior, with the power to delay these prophecies? I mean actually physically rooting for him, while jeering the evil, Satanic Democrats, as if both political parties were not corrupt and man-made constructs of a fallen world?

Here's some additional perspective. Back in its heyday, with peak membership, what was it, maybe 125-150,000 members were going to be spared the horrors of the tribulation, by virtue of being in the place of safety? One big, long Feast of Tabernacles, brethren! And now, due to continued splintering and shrinkage, and no audible warning message, maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of that number may qualify? On what planet in which solar system in which galaxy of the universe would this be regarded as accomplishing some sort of great end times work, or fulfillment of a divine commission?

But there's more! What about the other alleged lost tribes who also "forgot" their national identities and reside in Europe, but speak other than English? Where's their national punishment and captivity? These are also descended from the Germanic tribes, except that Germany, somehow along the way also had a national ethnicity-change operation, and became Assyrians!

None of this makes any sense, but, a whole bunch of Armstrong-'splainin' has navigated some folks we all know into some mighty confining corners. Them's their "facts" and they're stickin' to it!

The WCG would have been much better off had the Armstrongs just dwelled on Christian living principles, and not spiked their religious philosophy with one man's interpretation of prophecy, his hook, to create fear. The problem with fear-motivation is that in order to remain effective over time, it must be constantly increased in intensity. Sooner or later, that type of motivator leaves the boundaries of Christianity. And, that is yet another way in which the movement passed its time and date of expiration. The bomb is not the only existential threat. Today, there are so many that most people simply deny or ignore them.

I was impressed by how Flurry criticized Trump over his Israel policy. This shows that he doesn't worship Trump. This is in contrast to the main stream media which always insisted that Biden can do no wrong.

Can't believe these churches still talk about the place of safety and how to qualify. Your appraisal is a good one. Wonder how Armstrong dreamed all this stuff up? I suspect it was more an accident as he cobbled things together from information he copied from others. And convinced himself it was all revealed by God for a special purpose. Cheers.

” Does anyone else find it just a little disingenuous then, that ACOG leaders and members of today would be looking to President Trump as some sort of savior, with the power to delay these prophecies?”

DJT is talking about taking over Gaza and the West Bank and turning it into an international zone. Wasn’t the Beast supposed to do that? Now he is talking about not buying Palestine but just taking it. Wasn’t the Beast supposed to do that? He is telling Egypt and Jordan then have to take in the Gazans or risk having their aid cut off (“He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.”)

And what about DJT as the King of the North (“And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.”)? What about Greenland (“After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many”)?

DJT is talking about shipping our worst criminals to El Salvador. Wasn’t the Beast supposed to trade in slaves and the souls of men? Revelation 18:23.

Your COGs should be on these scriptures like ugly on an ape. But there is just the sound of silence. Politics rules in the COGs. In reality, there is greater support in the Bible and history for the idea that the United States is the leader of the great worldwide Babylon rather than for it being Manasseh.

I forgot this one about the King of the North: "And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done."

For the COGs, DJT by speaking about the God of Christianity, he is speaking about the pagan God because they believe that the Christian God is pagan. And he is therefore speaking against the true God.

You can be that way if you are the leader of the greatest Gentile nation ever. And you have the White House, the House of Reps, the Senate and the Supreme Court in your hip pocket.

This should all start a prophecy craze in the COGs.

WARNING TO PCG MEMBERS

In the Sermon on the Mount recorded in chapters 5 through 7 of the book of Matthew, Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15, KJV).

Jesus went on to say, “A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit” (Mathew 7:18, KJV).

At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, “And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened onto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand” (Mathew 7:26, KJV).

PCG members are heading for disaster under “That (False) Prophet” Gerald Flurry.

The poorest US state' - Mississippi - is wealthier per person than that of Europe's top five economies - except for Germany, but even here it is just a little beneath Germany.
Europe does not have the power to defeat USA. Consider the terrifying military strength of the USA. A single US nuclear sub could take out most European major cities.

The huge military imbalance to USA is never addressed by these COG prophecies - they blindly go on saying famine and so on will weaken USA. All based on the pipedream of Armstrong that they are covered by prophecies in certain prophetical books addressed to Israel. It is a false notion and they waste everyone's time writing about it.

Not sure about Trump being THE beast but he could be a 'type a forerunner'.

The is radio silence in COGs because many are unbelieving navel grazers. It will only get worse as they age. Look at how COG leaders became useless over the Covid Pandemic, it took them completely by surprise. Even when it was raging in China they still did not heed basic warnings or show basic wisdom. So how are those same men going to be if a Tribulation situation occured ?

But should come as no surprise as in 70AD the Temple priests still ordered the people to travel to Jerusalem even though Roman armies posed a terrible threat. They paid a terrible price for obeying them. That's why relying on God is the wisest thing to do.

I believe that HWA went into error when he read the news and his Bible, compared the two, and then came up with a series of identities based on those comparisons, and was very dogmatic in thundering what were, at best, his theories to his radio audience and his followers. He most certainly profited financially from that, by launching so many of his acolytes into exploitable paranoia. It's a bad model, and people seeing themselves as modern day versions of some of the Bible's most prominent figures, and then taking on titles, is a nasty step-cousin to that.

One can't help but notice some similarities between DJT and the king of the north, but I'm reluctant to apply the methodology of HWA to what we are watching unfold. Do the activities concern me? Yeah. We live in times when the extremists of both political parties have taken control, are pandered to, and refuse to compromise in accordance with one of the American "greatness" traditions in which each obtains part of what they want and need, and we all survive. Seemingly, existential threats have become an existential threat because of partisan efforts to exploit them, (brinksmanship) causing people to vehemently pull in opposite directions. A fight against one another over an existential threat distracts the participants from actually combatting the existential threat itself.

I certainly missed the days before we had so many competing apocalypses. And, to think we could have avoided the ongoing chicken apocalypse if only the Feds had vaccinated the birds! What were they thinking? Were they worried about clotted eggs or something?
