David C. Pack: I WIll Soon Be the Oracle at Wadsworth

Dave is so desperate to grasp at anything that he can use to legitimize himself that he now says he will soon become the OFFICIAL mouthpiece for his god to speak directly through him.
One final Hebrew word in Haggai should be noted: “Then spoke Haggai the Lord’s messenger in the Lord’s message unto the people, saying, I am with you, says the Lord. And the Lord stirred up…the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God” (1:13-14). “Says” in verse 13 is NOT amar, but rather neum. The word neum can also be translated “an oracle.” God uses this word when He wants to bring special emphasis to a message. Of course the message is that God is now with people who are frightened and who were cut off from Him for a long time, and who have come to see that they were.

Here's a question for all you RCG members: Was Dave recently bitten by a vampire?

Remember, oracle spelled backwards is "el caro" which is Spanish for "expensive". Ask rcg members how they feel about their financial security.

Is that like being the Oracle at Delphi -- the prophet of the ancient pagan Greek gods?

Pack isn't even going to be as accurate as the Oracle at Delphi, so it looks like his god of this world, Satan the Devil isn't paying much attention to him.

How many failed prophecies does it take to make a false prophet?

Technically, zero -- because even if a prophecy comes to pass and the "prophet" speaks heresy in the name of God, he's a false prophet.

You RCG members: What's your excuse for treating God with contempt by daring to give this man money to spread his lies.

It just doesn't seem like a successful strategy to treat God with contempt, or don't you care?

Today should be labeled: "Friday, the Thirteenth -- The Atonement".

Jason is having a hard time fasting after learning Herbert Armstrong ate out in Restaurants on the Day of Atonement -- and why not, his membership would never catch him at it.

It's that time of year again with the Feast of Tabernacles coming. Armstrongist churches may find a wider audience if they use the name of comic and Science Fiction conventions... call it...

I've been scanning the internet this evening for information about false prophets and false teachers. The little guys we've been discussing here of late may be important to all of us, because it is their belief system and false prophecies which negatively impacted our own lives. However, they don't even register on everyone else's Richter Scale. HWA is listed in some cases as a dangerous false teacher, but for the most part he has been largely forgotten.

Any of us who thought that the ACOGs were the only collective which branded one another with the "bogus" label must stand corrected. Actually, others play that game quite adeptly. There are numerous personal condemnations leveled by people assuming that their own group possesses truth. There are also critiques leveled based on the high profile sins and unfulfilled prophecies of various teachers. Many do just as the members of the ACOGs do; they excuse and give their own "passes", based on the fact that they agree with the basic doctrinal approach of the offender.

Benny Hinn, who has a huge international following, once prophesied that God was going to destroy all of the homosexuals in the USA with fire, sometime in the 1980s or '90s. Sound familiar? Who doesn't know about the failed prophesies of Harold Camping, Oral Roberts, and the ridiculous statements made by Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell?

One profound lesson which I learned as a result of Armstrongism is that one must keep one's personal relationship with God independent, never giving one's self over to the control of a church. Church can be a good source of reference and fellowship, but it is so potentially damaging to allow a corporate worship group to take over one's life that it should probably be avoided at all cost! Since everybody fakes and botches prophecy, it is especially imperative to avoid prophetic ministries. So far as I'm concerned, if a ministry is prophecy based, claiming to have specially revealed secret knowledge, you can be 99.99% sure that it is F.O.S. Run!

"Hey, hey, Fodda! In Matthew 19:26, Jesus said with gawd all tings are pawssible, so then can gawd lie and den have dat also be da troot?"

"Well, it's a mystery."

And Dave hopes everyone buys that logic, and is willing to set their instincts aside in favor of keeping the "mystery" alive. Dave needs us all to understand that god is SOOO AAALLL POWERFUL, he can lie to Dave and ask Dave to lie, on his behalf, to all the world, and yet, at the same time, god can use his magical god powers to fix everything so that neither Dave nor god himself will be liars. See? That's not so hard to understand, now is it?

And now Dave is setting a new date for his already failed prophecy to come true, and even though it will fail again, still, because god is SOOO POWERFUL, it will still not be a failed prophecy!

And now Dave proposes to be the lying oracle of a lying god, who, through his great power and majesty, will force all of Dave's future lying to also be da troot!

Omnipotence Paradox, FTW!

Of course, the one thing Dave has still not explained is why it's easier for his god to not use his magical god powers to simply make good on Dave's prophecy in the first place, instead of doing nothing, and then needing to using his magical god powers to fix the fact that he and Dave both lied. I mean, he's got to use his magical god powers either way, and if he simply did what he said he was going to do, that would be a lot more convincing use of those magical god powers. More "bang for the buck," so to speak.

OTOH, isn't it a lot simpler to believe that everything that's going on with Dave and RCG has nothing to do with anything supernatural in the first place? Don't they see that he's simply moved to a higher risk, but also, potentially higher "return" strategy for bleeding out the last few drops of blood from those poor souls silly enough to sit still for his bullshit? I don't know what Dave's followers think they've found, but it sure isn't any god. Come September 1, the responsibility for having been duped shifts towards those who STILL refuse to acknowledge Dave bullshit as the bullshit it so obviously and unquestioningly now is. As for Dave himself, there's no turning back. It's either make miracles happen Wizard of Oz style, or bust!
