God's most intelligent authority on every subject imaginable is back claiming the destructive rain in Texas was a sure sign from God that the end time troubles are neigh. Like so many COG leaders he almost seems giddy that property is destroyed and people die. Without death and destruction these fools have nothing to stand on or "prove" themselves as correct. I can almost guarantee that within the next few days Rod Meredith, Gerald Flurry and Dave Pack will all come out claiming this is just one more sign that their god is SPANKING the Israelite nations because they are worthless piles of rotting, sinful human garbage.
The doubly blessed prophet and apostle Bob Thiel has to jump back to an old article by Donald Schroeder that was once published in a WCG rag called The Plain Truth.
The doubly blessed prophet then has to put his two cents in:The Bible reveals God also directly intervenes to cause weather plagues to warn certain nations. “I have smitten you with blasting and mildew . .. yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord” (Amos 4:9). He, in his great purpose, may also allow Satan-the god of this world (II Cor. 4:4)-to have a role in producing calamitous weather, for man’s ultimate learning (see Job, chapter 1). (Schroeder D. CHAOTIC WEATHER Return of the dust bowl? Plain Truth. 1984, pp. 19-20)
The Bible repeatedly warns, especially in the Hebrew scriptures, that various sins will result in destructive weather. Weather is not as random as most seem to want to believe.
Back in 2009, in a book, I mentioned the following was about to happen:
Considering all of the natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, food shortages, and economic problems in the past few years, perhaps this would be a good time to explain that the Bible shows that these problems were expected to occur prior to the great tribulation. Those outside the Bible have sometimes referred to a time such as this as a time of transition or chaos. …There will be a generation that will experience end-time events, beginning with “sorrows,” including the Great Tribulation, heavenly signs, and finally the return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:5-34). …

Prophets forget there are not one but TWO conditions under which the earth will have floods, drouths, earthquakes, volcanoes, typhoons/hurricanes, wars, and rumors of wars:
1) when the End Times are imminent
and
2) when they are not.
Well that's a relief, since the United States isn't an Israelite nation.
Darn! When is the GLBT community going to learn their lesson, repent, and go straight? Somehow, they just don't listen to the ACOG preachers.

Maybe God hit a sour note on his HAARP?
Well, now Bob Thiel wants to brag about some 2009 book that he wrote. Well, who is the father of lies (hint: John 8:44)? Did Bob, like Rod Meredith, lie to us again?
Bob again opened mouth and inserted his foot by writing about 6 years ago the following lies:
"...There will be a generation that will experience end-time events, beginning with “sorrows,” including the Great Tribulation, heavenly signs, and finally the return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:5-34)..."
For one such lie, Read all of the way through verses 5-34 of Matthew 24 and one CANNOT find the phrase "the great tribulation!" Look up the Greek! The Aramaic!
"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." Matthew 24:21
Where is the "the?" Now, mankind has been under a great tribulation from the very day God allowed the most subtil beast, Satan, of the field to enter the Garden of Eden and infest/infect the minds of both Adam and Eve before fruit was handled by either one of them, but that's another story.
Besides if anyone wants to know about another great tribulation, far greater than Bob Thiel's mind can contemplate, then go read about how Satan deceives the four quarters of the earth AFTER SATAN IS LOOSED FROM THE BOTTOMLESS PIT! For Bob Thiel, I emphasize the word "AFTER!" Bob's timing on prophecy is so far out of whack with reality......oh, just like his prior mentor: Rod Meredith!
May we consider another lie of Bob Thiel from that 2009 book? Bob wrote: "...There will be a generation that will experience end-time events, beginning with “sorrows,” including the Great Tribulation, heavenly signs, and finally the return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:5-34)..."
Well, to give Bob Thiel some credit he does have the return of Jesus Christ mentioned after some great tribulation, and there doesn't seem to be any greater tribulation than what will occur AFTER Satan exits the pit. Well, that would mean that Jesus Christ won't be anywhere on earth until near the end of that 1,000 years and that short/little season/time AFTER Satan exits the pit.
Bob Thiel, Satan, like death (Hebrews 2:14), is an enemy and Jesus Christ will be at the Father's right hand until those 2 enemies are subdued, overwhelm, overcome! Isn't that what the Bible says?
"But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?" Hebrews 1:13
"Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him." 1 Peter 3:22
Bob Thiel would be better off saying there is a greater hope of seeing Satan made some "footstool" than to strive to scare all of us with his (Rod Meredith's?) brand of Fear Religion.
For now, I conclude that Bob Thiel is at least 1,000 years off in his prediction mentioned in that 2009 flawed book of his. What kind of a prophet did Bob Thiel say he believed he was?

Well here in Nevada we had a blessed rain that helped a great deal with greening the area. Not too much but just enough. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Considering that Nevada has legal prostitution, gambling, alcohol that flows through the streets it seems as if we have been blessed doubly. I guess God approves of the mentioned formers.
In this, Christians have a choice of biblical passages to support whichever proposition best fits their personal leanings or their manipulative purposes.
If they feel a need to warn prideful sinners that their god deals out weather as punishment, they can quote these verses:
Leviticus 26:19
I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze.
Deuteronomy 28:23
And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron.
If they prefer to think their god deals weather out impartially, they can quote this:
Matthew 5:45
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
That's the delightful thing about the Bible. Readers can pick and choose, mix and match to come up with authority for just about any doctrine they dream up. And the rest of us can justify pooh-poohing that doctrine. It would all be great fun if we all realized it was merely a game, and nobody ever used their invented doctrines to extract wealth from followers.
