Just when you think the spiritual degeneracy of the Restored Church of God cannot sink any lower,
it does.
Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before! With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.

Dave Pack FAKED being an apostle, Joshua the High Priest, That Prophet, and Elijah.
Probably a lot of COG women “faking” orgasms after their men read mystery of sex or whatever the hell that old pervert HWA wrote.
Schleifer isn't wrong about this. God doesn't want us to "be ourselves" when ourselves are liars, murderers, etc. God expects us to exhibit Christian virtues whether or not we are yet mature enough to feel that we're living up to them. If that means "faking" our desire not to murder an enemy or to steal a widow's home, so be it. Indeed, RCG would be a much happier place if Dave Pack and his minions learned to convincingly fake more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As things stand, those virtues are visibly absent in most RCG leaders, and the brethren suffer as a result.
Lies are being told to profit a false prophet and their sheep are turned into wolves. They now reflect the leaders of a organization that know nothing about unity. The only thing they know, and are complicit in, is the ambitions of a lecherous leader
While not a fan of course, in this case, I believe I know what he means however it seems to come across. He's not saying to be disingenuous. It is just how it may feel when in transition between not doing so well and doing better with these positive traits. "Fake it til you make it" is not a call to be duplistic, disingenuous or deceptive. So I don't personally find a grievous fault in this particular scriptural encouragement to do better.
PS I believe he may have thought, " I could have said that better", but still...
It definitely could have been said better, I agree. The issue with this is that he says God tells us to fake it. I don't believe the scripture he is referring to means this at all. Also, I do think there is a difference between faking happiness and then faking kindness, patience, hospitality. You can put on a smile and try to be happy even when you don't feel it but I don't think anyone should fake kindness. There are times where you do have to be friendly when you dislike a person but generally (speaking for myself), it is more to be respectful and the other person is friendly back but we know we don't like one another. I don't know how one could fake being patient or being hospitable though.
although this was my initial thought, it was wrong, and out of context of the scripture as per usual with these fakers. ministers speaking to members of 5, 10, 15, even 20 plus years to fake being kind etc, when they should have grown in these attributes already. in my 15 years, there was a lot of disingenuous people in RCG, who were totally fake and did not understand what Paul was actually saying, the whole book was to the colossians. He was not saying to fake it, but to clothe oneself with the new man, which is never fake.
Fake it til you make it has been kicking around for years in the self-improvement field. It has its usages.
I make it a practice not to watch or listen to these COGlodyte videos, but Armstrongism has always believed in and taught passion on demand. You know, be happy even if something is killing you inside. We all know why they would do this. Virtually all human defense mechanisms erupt in the presence of Armstrongism, and if you don't suppress them and fake joyfulness, you are said to be in a bad attitude.
To RCG members, "knowing" about common is supposed to be a fantastic blessing, as is God's daily revealing of more false prophecies through Mr. Pack
Hmmm. Sounds like a cult to me!
With regards to "faking it", I am painfully aware that for all of the years I was a WCG member, that's exactly what I had been doing. I knew deep down that I was carnal to the core, and I was incredibly frustrated to realize that in truth, my heart wasn't in "the work". In a number of ways, I despised HWA as I thought of him as a stuck-up Victorian prude who ranted and raved incessantly about makeup and other nonsensical issues. And yet I was supposed to pray for his eyesight issues to be healed so that he would be able to complete "the work". I did so, but it was only because I believed that I had to. When we heard of his death, I felt nothing, and it soon became clear to me that I had only been a religious actor wearing a superficial costume of religiosity. Perhaps many members of the church had been doing the same thing but were unable to realize it. When it comes to our human frailties, deep down we are all carnal, and what we might think is overcoming may well be nothing but a self-deceptive external veneer.
Is it now OK for RCG women to FAKE AN ORGASM too??
But if I'm "faking it," isn't that a facade - the sort of "lying" COG ministers have preached against for decades?
Isn't "put on" in Colossians 3 (which he's quoting) more about wearing clothes (Strong's G1746) - not a costume?
so if you want to be a male transgender all you do is fake it and it becomes so? What a pile of crap from a low-life cult.
Agree. Bradford is putting fake into God's mouth. Into God's word where it does not belong. God would never teach us to be disingenuous. Christ was against those who faked it. I believe he calls them 'hyprocrites'. I know who would be for faking it and that's the devil. Satan, the father of lies.
Fake it until you can't tell anymore. You start to believe it yourself that you are when you aren't. RCG is teaching members to be compulsive liars. Fruitless sermons.
The problem also is that in RCG and other COGS, they stay fake. They don't seem to transition into genuine love, kindness etc. This is proven when someone leaves and they are thrown away like trash.
A rabbi said, do what is right, even if you don't feel like it. Perhaps in time, your heart will catch up with your actions. Our feelings can impact our actions, and the opposite is true, also. Psychologists know that if you try to act happy, you can elevate your mood, etc.
You cannot fake it till you make it. That’s hypocritical, and trying to enter through the back door.
Dude, if someone had read the book "Epaminondas" to you as a child, you would be
familiar with the concept of "appropriateness"!
Hah! They wouldn't even know how to fake one if the only sex they'd ever had was with their RCG husband!
As an American Herbert Armstrong was actually never a 'Victorian'. He belonged to the ' Hard Timer' generation, his outlook was very much of his generation especially when he was young. They are also known as 'The Lost Generation'.
Both Herbert and his youngest son Garner Ted symbolised the generation they belonged to alot, in both personalities, interests and achievements. Loma Armstrong not as much, as she was very different from women in her generation, in her personality, lifestyle and achievements in life.
I believe to understand people you need to take account of the generation they belong to.
A fish rots from the head. Fake apostle, fake ministry, preaching fake messages to a gullible flock.
COMPLETE, TOTAL, UTTER FAKERY
David C. Pack is a FAKE PROPHET with weekly, WRONG, prophetic date guesses. Dave Pack suffers from an extremely severe case of PREDICTION ADDICTION.
Dave Pack's current followers are FAKE “CHRISTIANS” who mistakenly think they can BUY THEIR SALVATION by giving everything they have to Dave Pack to support his weekly, WRONG, prophetic date guesses. They are the ones who REALLY suffer from Dave Pack's PREDICTION ADDICTION.
SUCKERS BEWARE
The WCG splinter groups are full of all sorts of FAKE apostles, FAKE prophets, FAKE evangelists, FAKE ministers, FAKE elders, FAKE deacons/deaconesses, and FAKE members.
Well, there are always exceptions! How in tarnation do we explain Donald Trump? He sure doesn't act like any kind of Baby Boomer!
Amos 5:21 NLT “I hate all your show and pretense — the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies.
Donald Trump acts exactly as the 1980s symbolic Baby Boomer American Tycoon he is. He embodies everything his parents aspired for, his fathers achievements in being a landlord in New York and his Scottish mothers immigrant expectations of the 'American dream'. He took his fathers business to the next level and kept climbing in American society in a 'Kennedy dynasty mode'.
A baby boomer from middle class, middle Britain is living a very different life to an American baby boomer from Donald Trump's upbringing.
Read the biblical book of Amos carefully.
When the kingdom split after King Solomon died, the northern ten tribes under King Jeroboam, called the Kingdom of Israel, started to observe golden calves at Dan and Bethel in the eighth month (forever afterwords called “the sins of Jeroboam”), while the southern Kingdom of Judah under King Rehoboam continued to observe God's Feast of Tabernacles at Jerusalem in the seventh month.
This is like the bad religious actors today who observe customs such as X-mass and Easter instead of God's annual festivals that are actually mentioned in the Bible.
Yea, 7:28 many people know, this but you need to read your bible about Solomon, see if he doesn't multiply his wives, (who happen to worship other gods, it wouldn't have even gotten to that point of Jeroboam. So yea, over twelve time, its states "the sins of Jeroboam" but at least Nehemiah basically goes back to the beginning and puts the onus on Solomon (Nehemiah 13:26).
The Lord was already going to give the 10 northern tribes to Jeroboam given by the prophet Ahijah. (1 Kings 11:31-33). Solomon probably worshiped other days too because of all those wives.
The relationship which Dave Pack enjoys with the members of his RCG reminds one of an ancient, possibly apocryphal tale, regarding a bear and a bunny rabbit in their natural habitat, the forest.
The bear and the bunny rabbit are sitting on a log, taking their morning crap.
The bear looks down at the bunny rabbit and suddenly says, "Bunny Rabbit, when you poop, does any of the poop stick to your fur???"
The bunny rabbit exclaims, "Why of course not!"
Whereupon, the bear reaches down, picks up the bunny rabbit, wipes his butt with him, and sets him back down on the log.
