I, Dr Bob Thiel - Am The Greatest - blah, blah, blah...

The worlds greatest theologian and the only Church of God leader carrying on Herbert Armstrong's message in this dark and dying world, is back once again tooting his little horn about how magnificent he is.

We are not worthy!

Consider also the following from Herbert W. Armstrong’s last letter before he died:

It may be that the Work that God has given me to do is complete, but not the Work of God’s Church, which will be faithfully doing God’s Work till Christ, the True Head of this Church, returns…Remember brethren, this is not the work of Herbert W. Armstrong…The greatest work lies ahead…Never before in the history of the Church has it been possible to reap so great a harvest. It has only been made possible through modern technology, beginning with the printing press, radio, television...Each of you must commit yourself to support God’s Work…God’s work must push ahead as never before. God is opening up new doors in television (Letter, 1/10/86).

Actually, those new doors for television have included the internet, which allows videos as well as online radio.

Another new door has been being a radio guest.

As long-term readers are aware, I, Dr. Bob Thiel a.k.a. COGwriter, have frequently been a radio guest. After being so over 230 times, the time seemed right for the CCOG to sponsor our own programs.

Prior to that, CCOG Overseer Samuel Ofosu from Ghana had already doing a COG-sponsored radio program. We also have CCOG radio presenters in Kenya.

Plus, in New Zealand, Shirley Gestro helped handling our Bible News Prophecy online radio channel. Various men in CCOG have been on it. This is another way we reach people.

We also have a Bible News Prophecy International radio platform. This has links to our non-English language online radio station as well as materials in multiple languages. Kristy Gorman oversees this.

We reach people all around the world from the online radio program.

But we are also on commercial broadcast stations in North America, Africa, and Europe. Plus, we are on shortwave broadcasters that are based in the USA and Europe which, together, cover much of the entire world.

Another “new door” in television has been my appearing 33 times this year as a guest on a podcast program, almost all of which had video as well as audio).

Radio and the internet are two mass-media “doors” we are using to work to fulfill Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20, while also working towards part of the fulfillment of Romans 11:25.

And we in the CCOG have been greatly reaching Gentiles–around the world, but mainly in Africa, Latin America (in person, but also with online sermons and sermonette videos), and Asia, but also in Europe and elsewhere.

Because of our high percentage of Gentile brethren in poorer regions of the world, we have much lower income than groups with as many congregants as we have.

Yet, we still seem to have a greater radio presence than any other true Church of God Christian group at this time.

Does that make sense to you?

If you are a Philadelphian Christian, it should.

Consider that most, even in the Church of God, will not believe the message of the work, even though they were told and could see the truth if they were willing.

Thanks to Rod Meredith and the Living Church of God members publicly denouncing you as a false prophet, fraud, and a narcissist, it is no wonder the entire Church of God movement has turned its back on you and laughs at your endless foibles.

It has always been widely known even when it was fresh off the press, that Herbert Armstrong had nothing to do with the 'last letter written by Herbert W Armstrong'. Joe Snr Tkach wrote it allegedly.

I wonder. Perhaps being a guest of another would actually make Bob appear professional? As in stayng on topic rather than covering 26 different topics in 5 minutes.

TV and internet? There go the hands, spoiling it all!

"Mommy, who's that funny man on your computer? Does he have a disease like Joe Cocker or something?"

"I don't know about that, son! But, your father calls him Flail-ze-bub!"

Bob is becoming a heretic by ACOG standards. Notice what he wrote:

Consider that most, even in the Church of God, will not believe the message of the work, even though they were told and could see the truth if they were willing.

Standard ACOG teaching is that you can only see things if God opens your mind to see them. You can't "will" yourself to conversion and understanding. Bob could at least in theory "will" himself to see the plain truth about what's happening with his African ministers, but ACOG members cannot "will" themselves to see the wonderfulness of Bwana Bob unless God inspires them to do so.

So, in effect, with his whiny complaint Bob is actually complaining against God. And even Bob should realize that complaining against God doesn't usually end well.

Bob is a somewhat sad kind of delusional. Little Man on steroids?

Did HWA, Joe W. Tkach, or Aaron Dean write the following in that last letter we received?

"...It may be that the Work that God has given me to do is complete, but not the Work of God’s Church, which will be faithfully doing God’s Work till Christ, the True Head of this Church, returns…Remember brethren, this is not the work of Herbert W. Armstrong…The greatest work lies ahead..."
******
Regardless of who wrote those words (For now, I will assume that Hwa wrote it or requested someone else to write it), what happens when God works with any, called by God, to become one of the sealed Firstfruits?

Well, there is Romans 8:27-31 as an example, but another example is the following:

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:" Phil 1:6

HWA believed God worked in his life in that fashion. Yes, there was sin in his life, just like sin is in all of our lives. Sin is sin; the wages are death. That death is appointed. Who among us will avoid that death? Did God’s works continue on?

Other verses may also be as follows:

Eph 1:4 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved."

Does God know what work(s) He is accomplishing through whatever (e.g. Samson? Baalam’s Ass? Noah?) He uses?

"Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world." Acts 15:18; Heb 4:3

So, if God worked with one who was a sinner (like us: join the club?), and the only 100 % perfect human being so far has been Jesus Christ, then might it have been possible that it may be true that God was finished with using HWA? Might we say the same for Joe Tkach Senior? Both men died supposedly "doing the work," so they believed.

Did God actually, instead, work with others like Rod Meredith, Dave Pack, David Hulme, Gerry Flurry, Winnail, Weinland, Franks, Coulter, Havir? I cannot even put Bob Thiel, Sam Kitchen even among that list.

It appears that HWA in that letter was not taking any credit for the work(s) that were accomplished in his life. He seemed to be giving God credit for that.

There were evil and good works in King David's life, but did God work through him when evil was evident in David's life, or were there other “things” allowed to be controlling his life? How about the good works in David's life? The good would have been accomplished by God's Spirit using him. Where did the evil works come from? Not God.

Despite all of the evil/good experienced in David's life, God preserved the following as an example for us, FWIIW:

"Because David did [that which was] right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any [thing] that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite." 1 Kings 15:5
Whoa! Just the matter of Uriah? What about the other evil in David’s life? How about the evil in our lives? How much different are our lives compared to Job’s life, when he expressed the following occurring?
“Job 30:26 When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.”
How does that evil get in there: into our lives? We can empathize with Job, can’t we?
The principalities are a problem for all of us, although, it is so easy to wrestle flesh and blood. And God will one day, still in the future and beyond the Mickey Mouse Millennium, exact His vengeance on them principalities: His real enemies.

But God so loved the world, didn’t He? Does God really love humanity?

Time will tell...

We need advance notice of Armstrongist appearances on legit call-in shows. Such an opportunity. Ask basic but materially pertinent questions in a respectful manner, and when Bob or whoever refuses to answer them, the hosts will have to confront the guests.

"Consider that most, even in the Church of God, (sic) will not believe the message of the work, even though they were told and could see the truth if they were willing."

Oh Yeah! Didn't work for me back in '72, back when much of the message involved warning the world. (Reference "America Listen" personal appearance campaign). Nope indeed! I believed in the end, Philadelphians and Laodiceans, Petra, and us rising to meet JC in the air right before He'd descend and split the Mount of Olives. There was no truth about that!

It didn't happen, so Deuteronomy tells us we don't have to listen to another word those false prophets have to say. I fully understand that "they" have had 50 years to backwrite and spin that, but the stuff coming out of the mouths of the heirs of that philosophy is no more accurate than were Herbie's wet dreams about the Germans and the Pope!

I blew off my education for that! If Mexicans hadn't taught me how to work on cars, I would've been in a world of hurt!

If God is coming to rule forever - Dan 2:44, why does Rev 20 mention a millennium? Maybe b/c the 7 day week does picture 7000 years - 2Peter 3:8; the 7th day sabbath is the millennium (NOT MMM).

Anon, Friday, August 29, 2025 at 3:26:27 PM PDT, asked:

"If God is coming to rule forever - Dan 2:44, why does Rev 20 mention a millennium?..."

The reason is b/c the events surrounding the 1,000 years of Rev 20 occur before the events of Dan 2:44 become reality. 1,000 years is not forever, and forever is not 1,000 years.

God's Kingdom will still not be established on earth after that 1,000 years, b/c Satan is loosed from his captivity in the pit for a little season, and what does Satan do?

Rev 20:2 "And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."

Satan again deceives the nations again!

How could such a thing happen if God's Kingdom were established on earth?

How do we know Satan will deceive nations again? The Bible tells us so.

Rev 20:7 "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea."

Gog is that 7th head of the Beast, which then must fulfill what God said it would do. What a mess! And God's Kingdom is still not established on earth. Even Jerusalem will be taken over; you've read and probably sang the song making reference about Jerusalem via the words in Zech 14. If Jesus Christ were there, would Jesus Christ allow that to happen to Jerusalem?

Of course not.

You, Anon, then speculate with your own answer to the rhetorical question by writing: "...Maybe b/c the 7 day week does picture 7000 years - 2Peter 3:8; the 7th day sabbath is the millennium (NOT MMM)."

Who told you that "the 7th day sabbath is the millennium? Some man?

Not the Bible!

Regarding the 7th day, God never said: "The evening and morning are the 7th day," like He did with the previous 6 days, did He?

Why not? It's because it was a day picturing a day that will never end: goes on forever. If anything, it was picturing events surrounding God's 7th annual Holyday, the Great Last Day, a time after the second resurrection occurs, which will be after that 1,000 years and a little season of Rev 20.

To be continued…

Continuing, regarding thoughts about Daniel 2:44…

Rome is the 6th head of the Beast (Revelation 17:10), that "one is" that existed in the apostle John's time. Gog is the 7th head, which does not exist until Satan is loosed from that pit: after that 1000 years and during that little season.

Dan 2:40 concerns iron and has to do with Rome that 6th head...the legs.
Dan 2:41-43 are concerned with feet and toes, only part iron and part clay, and have to do with that 7th head of the Beast: Gog.

Did God establish His kingdom after Rome, that 6th head? No.

Dan 2:44 states: "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever."

This particular kingdom, standing forever, was not on earth before the 1,000 years, or even at the end of that 1,000 years. It shall stand for ever after it is established on earth. When will that be?

At the end of the 1,000 years? No, Satan is loosed, but knows that he has a short time, a little season to be allowed to do his deception thing (and peeps learn war again!) with the nations of earth. That for ever kingdom is not there yet.

When does it come, then? During that little season? No, after that little season.

Remember God's vengeance: God's wrath? When will that occur?

The wrath of the Lamb involves the 7 Trumps, prior to the 1,000 years.

God's wrath occurs during the time of the 7 Vials, when God is going to kill His real enemies, Satan and his angels, and that will be near the end of that little season, and God's Kingdom still isn't established one earth. Yes, the angel says: "It is done!"

When "...shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever"?

Satan is still currently the "god of this world," and its kingdoms are controlled by him, but not during that 1,000 year period. Satan must take a "pit stop" for a while, that 1,000 years, but as the Terminator said in a science fiction movie before being destroyed in something looking like a lake of fire: "I'll be back!"

And when that thing returns, is that thing going to be mad? Absolutely, but he still has to fulfill that little season with more of his/its works of evil.

Will we have to wait until after that 1,000 years to the little season of time when God breaks in pieces and consumes all of Satan's kingdoms?

Time will tell...
