The sickness that permeates the Philadelphia Church of God gets worse by the day. Their vile "no contact" rule that breaks up families, marriages, and relationships has contributed to another suicide.

My youngest son killed himself 9 months ago.
One of the reasons is because he never got over losing his older brother and sister to the PCG’s “no contact rule.”
He lost his mother when he was 12. Something he took very hard.
Then when I was put out of the PCG, he lost his brother and sister who remained in the “church” and quit contact with me and him. Toward the end he talked about them a lot. He could not understand why they would not contact me, my other daughter that is out of the PCG, or him. He wanted to go visit them but thought they would not welcome him unless he was in “the church.”
But, he wanted nothing to do with that “church.”
Even though my daughter Elise is in the PCG and under the “no contact rule.” Under penalty of being cast into the lake of fire by Gerald Flurry, she did text me, call me and sent me a picture of her son, my little grandson, who it turns out she had named after her brother, my son Sterling, that had just killed himself. And she told me she was going to have another baby, a girl.
So not only did I lose my youngest son, I lost my other son, my daughter, a grandson and a granddaughter.
How much longer will God allow this evil group to continue? How many families have been destroyed and lives lost?

If you were a woman trapped in PCG, but who despite the no-contact rule chose to contact your ex-member father, would you want your father to tell the whole world that you had contacted him? By failing to keep that communication private, Dan Moffett may have just made things a whole lot worse for his daughter, and for his relationship with her.
COGWA may be walking in this direction.
Someone I know who was KO'd from COGWA was told to leave its "Family Day" at a U.S. Feast site this year. Even though the event was held outdoors at a state park.

Some people I've heard about PCG are so incredibly stupid as is Dan.
Couple of years, ago there was this winer from Tennessee who hadnt seen his kids for over 6
years.
My answer to him was that it was just a 5 hour drive and asked him why he had just not driven there as a normal person. Who is gonna stop him if hes not making a scene.
A man of purpose cannot be barred from seeing his adult children of course thst should be the goal not to get them to leave the cult.... That is a big nono.

IF that "church" is true to their evil "no contact rule" imposed by KING GERRY, my daughter Elise and her children will be put out like thousands of others have been. THEN, they can contact me.
This is another example of the Herb splinters and the Jehovah's Witnesses being brother and sister. Suicides from being separated from one's family for leaving the church is not uncommon in the JWs. The JWs was the other group that also taught 1975. In his holy day booklet, Herb used the coercive expression "even a child can understand this." This also appears in a JWs Watchtower publication. These groups collude and steal ideas from one another. This phenomenal makes Herb's claim that he taught truths received from God, and not understood in over 2000 years laughable.
And not forgetting, the JWs teach that God communicates to the church exclusively through their governing body. Hence to disagree with the church is "mere human reasoning" and gives rise to the expression "revelation rather than human reasoning." This is not taught explicitly by Herbs splinters, but has always been the church culture. To this very day, they deny that Christ directly leads church members. Herb's splinters also copy the expression "that's only human reasoning," and I recently came across a splinter that wrote "revelation rather than human reasoning" in one of their articles.
It doesn't look like the splinters are following Christ.
If the PCG would give her grief in these circumstances then it is truly an organization that actively needs to be destroyed.

Flurry who plagiarized and revised his Malachi's Mess. of an imposter book, which teaches the exact diametrical opposite of what the real book of Malachi in the Holy Bible actually teaches.
My goodness. The media need to be informed about this cult. Nothing like some exposure. The public need to be warned and the message spread about this caustic organisation. The more that know the better. They are in a race with the JWs in who are one of the most abusive ‘religious’ groups out there. The sooner this cancer is exposed and removed from society the better.

You are an absolute moron. I’ve admired your stupidity over the years from afar reading your posts but this one is your best yet. Of course anyone can drive to see their adult kids or family. But if they don’t want to see you, you aren’t going to accomplish anything but cause them to avoid you even more. All you can do is reach out occasionally and hope they come around at some point. I entirely agree with you and it's not surprising JW's and Armstrong churches have similar methods as they are well practiced in controlling and influencing believers using well honed techniques and propaganda. They share a common heritage coming out of the Millerite and Adventist movements in US of A and all claiming to be the one true church.
Just a word of caution. We've seen cases before in which a PCG member gets busted by Flurry's lackeys for violating "no contact" or spreading tales, gets disfellowshipped, relatives are all happy and looking forward to reestablishing a normal, loving familial relationship only to watch in horror as their loved one joins up with another one of the Armstrong splinters! That is another facet of the insidious disease known as "Armstrongism". It's the gift that keeps on taking!
Much of the outcome of these situations depends upon what kind of relationship parents and children had prior to Flurry's interference. The child beating principles made it so that in adulthood, some children had no desire to be around their parents or to have any sort of relationship with them. There were also some parents who wisely ignored the church's booklets on child rearing, had a loving relationship with their kids, and that has persisted.
My parents would have been totally uncool whether they were in or out of the church. I doubt if I would have liked them even if they smoked weed!
I am in the same boat as Dan is. I left the church after horrible abuse by a minister. My husband and my daughter who is married and has two small children is still part of the PCG. I have made repeated calls to them that all go ignored. I even drove to their home and knocked on the door. I could hear them inside and none of them came tot eh door. Do you know how heartbreaking that is? Reading some of the comments here and the disgusting things said is shocking and cold hearted, but this is the fruits of Armstrongism that still remain embedded in NCK and others. All I can honestly say to NCK and the other couple people is FUCK YOU, you insensitive pricks!

When he dies soon there will probably be a big power struggle between his goons and henchmen much like that of Beria, Krushchev and Malenkov after Stalin died.
Restraining orders can definitely restrict contact and repeated violations can result in jail.
Your perspective has generally been that Armstrongism wasn’t so bad because someone should simply be independent enough to defy Armstrongist/PCG edicts.
While this would certainly remove the teeth of Armstrongist edicts, it is not practical because Armstrongism is a cult. You cannot have Armstrongism without the control. And, Armstrongism has control over family members still under the Armstrongist spell which is the complicating issue that defies your perspective which seldom takes into account the full familial situation.
Armstrongism is terrible and does create tragedies that have limited solutions for the individual. For far too many with family in Armstrongism, the teeth of Armstrongism is the control. Like the Cheshire cat that fades away leaving just its smile, on a wide scale Armstrongism must be defeated and faded before you can pull its teeth of control.

My entire point in my case is that I am from a long line (hundreds of years) of people who are well respected and do not stand for injustice that interferes with personal family affairs. No Government Official, No Church Authority, No son or daugher in Law can interfere with the established customs of my family.
Just wear a tie and be polite.
Although I do realize that my (recorded) 1000 years of establisheid culture and training have given me an aura that spreads nothing but love outside a 3 yard perimeter and nothing but destruction if someone moves within.....I have not had a single conflict with anyone for the past decades in or out the COG's and EVERYONE knows I am definitely OUT.
Just be firm, just be human. You have inalienable rights that no authority can take away unless you breach the contract about Outflowing Love with the Universe yourself.
That is not to say that it might work for all or that you are guilty if it doesn't work out for you. Just take it as a word of encouragement that The Universal Law of Love works in your favor but it is a harsh law if you break it by an inch.
