Problem Child: Bobby Thiel - The Early Years?

The Roots of the Living Church of God's conflict with Little Bobby Thiel.

How to Deal with Disgruntled Church Members / Biblically

Part Ways with Them

When dealing with disgruntled members, what happens if none of the proposals above work? What happens if members pray for the disgruntled members, reach out to them and seek to listen to them and understand the root of their dissatisfaction, find relevant solutions and extend forgiveness, but to no avail?

In fact, this is very likely. One would hope that disgruntled members will eventually stop being disgruntled and be reconciled to the church, but with all human and heavenly efforts combine, there is no such guarantee.

This issue can be brought to a Board meeting or a Members meetingAs a united body, the church will be called upon to decide what to do about the disgruntled member, still humbly seeking a mutual settlement of the matter and reconciliation.

Unfortunately, if this final measure is unsuccessful, the church must be prepared to let this member go, treating them as a “publican or a heathen. If all reasonable efforts are made to resolve the matter, but with no success, then the disgruntled member may have to be asked to renounce his/her membership in the church.

The truth is there may be members who are disgruntled about foundational doctrines of the church, which evidently cannot be adjusted to suit their whims and fancy.

Similarly, some may have personal vendettas that they refuse to release, so for the greater good of the church body, they may have to be seen as an unbeliever and, therefore, no longer a member of the body. Leaders who understand human nature and the power of the evil and negativity from this one disgruntled member to spread within the entire body of believers and shake the church’s very foundation must be prepared to take a stand.

The label of 'disgruntled member' and similar is often plastered on those who question church doctrines and point out legitimate shortcomings and sins in their church. It's a tool of control. Churches want to silence the grown up kid/s who point out that the Emperor has no clothes.

True enough, but the problem with Bobby is that he wanted to wear Rod's clothes and to put Rod in diapers.

Oddly enough, the Seventh Day Adventist Church is known for its member retention rate, a factor which ultimately contributes to its growth. Conflict resolution is an art which has been honed to the point of peak effectiveness amongst the SDAs.

Only in churches which teach that they are the one and only true one is leaving or expulsion of major consequence.

It is unimaginable that a member would be so filled with their own ego or vanity that they would presume to attempt to change or correct long established doctrines, but this has happened with regularity within Armstrongism. Many of those who have done this in the past were easy to dislike, because they were annoying misfits who were basically unlikeable in the first place, so it was a case of "good riddance" when they were asked to leave. I simply left, leaving the church to its own devices, having realized that it was beyond repair, and futile to attempt to change. It never occurred to me to talk others into leaving, or to start my own group, and I believe that that was the typical outlook of most who left.

Okay, it's time to find this movie on streaming and watch the whole thing. That clip was hilarious.

His shoulder fling and flailing arms was spot on! He nailed Bob.

It looks like an episode from the TV series "Young Sheldon."

The link on this post has nothing to do with Bob Thiel. 'Booby Thiel" is another target you aim to bully into submission.

What men of honour you all are...not.

You use your power to suit yourself and have no rules in bluring the lines in church. Without Shabi you think it's only a matter of time before you can destroy the members completely.

This post hasn't aged well.

It absouly does have everyting to do with Booby. He was a disgruntled member of LCG who caused all kinds of havoc. We are glad he is gone. Mr Meredith was right in kicking him out. Look at the mess he is now!

Bob Thiel was NEVER a member of LCG. He was part of the leadership, ministry and upper echelons of access to Rod Meredith that members of LCG never had. He carved out for himself a coveted role as a possible modern day 'prophet' impressing Meredith for a while until they fell out.
The link is about church discipline for alleged 'disgruntled members' and nothing to do with any latest Thiel antics nor LCG. It is completely out of sync.

Some little dude has constantly accused us of being underground UCG ministers. How long is it going to take for someone to say to themselves, "Well, actually Banned is more about doing LCG's dirty work! Must be LCG ministers. Look at how they're punishing Bob Thiel!"

I see us as breaking down ALL the rabbit holes of Armstrongism and presenting them back to the greater audience of possible future victims, immunizing them against this unique type of scam which has already ruined so many lives. From time to time it is each splinter or splinter leader's day in the barrel. Some ignore us, some condemn us to TLoF,, and some are crybabies.

Rod Meredith was most likely irritated with us for the most part. But Bob Thiel was such a constant, challenging pain in the ass to Rod that he might have thought we were doing him a solid by the many salient points we made against COGwriter, and then later CCOG. Too bad Rod didn't live long enough to know about the witch doctors!

Never a member of LCG? That's laughable. Thiel's website used to be the cheerleader and do cartwheels for Ramrod Meredith and LCG before the schism. Are you implying little Bobby Thiel never "practiced what he preached?" Are you admitting LCG's Gaylen what's his name's "double blessing" was a fraud? Why would this Gaylen give little Bobby Thiel this special double blessing if Thiel was never a member of LCG? Richard

What was so funny about Rod's irritation was that he was able to ignore Banned when it was making false or wildly exaggerated accusations against him, his family, or his church. But when something TRUE got out here, Rod would fume and rail and even warn people not to come here. He even gave several sermons mentioning this blog when it came uncomfortably close to truths and facts that made him look bad.

Yeah that's very true, whatever Bob said about LCG doctrines and not listening to him on correcting their errors, is nothing in comparison to the mess Bob has gotten into. All the Sex scandles of Radson and Evans and Sosten and all the Witchcraft involvement, via WITCHDOCTORs, the lie of Radson committing Adultery on his former wife, with Evans the Master Adulterous Political BIG Boss, covering it up. RADSONS CURRENT ADULTEROUS MARRIAGE TO Patrisha Sambani, which Radson Denys which Evans just confirmed, but has to whitewash it somehow, I here the big boss Evans is going to come back an bless the marriage or most likely another woman. What a joke for someone that claims a PHD and can't even discern simple truth. THE Dark Forces have turned Bobby into an Idiot. But we now see what Rod Meredith knew all along. >Bob Thiel was NEVER a member of LCG. He was part of the leadership, ministry and upper echelons of access to Rod Meredith<. Are you serious? He certainly was a member of LCG and was on the membership rolls. You are right, though, that he did seek to carve out a spot in the upper echelons. The problem was that since he was not ordained, he never truly fit in. That is why he was so easily ignored when he felt comfortable to start making demands. Bob was widely mocked by many in the ministry of LCG. Meredith was constantly calling him out over his lack of humility and his arrogance. Bob imagined himself as one of Meredith's "sons" and quickly found out he wasn't, and even worse, was not even in the inner circle of the church elite, where his demands were laughed at and discarded. Bob formed his church out of an act of humiliation and not of humility. Scorned by those he had tried to impress and publicly humiliated by them, he set out on his own.
