Dr Matt Baker addresses Joseph Atwill's Caesar's Messiah
Matt gives an honest and nicely balanced view on the topic of who or what created the pro-Roman, pacified Christianity, we find in the New Testament and Messiah Jesus after the defeat of militant Judaism and Christian zealotry and the Fall of Jerusalem in 70 CE.

Nero is known to have persecuted the early Christians. It doesn't make sense that Rome would invent a movement only to persecute it.
More likely is that Rome co-opted or hijacked the Christian movement, much as COINTELPRO in the United States didn't invent various 1960s radical groups but simply infiltrated them to help achieve Rome's purposes. If J. Edgar Hoover could turn a politically active civil rights activist into a non-political Black Muslim, it was a win for the FBI... just as a Zealot who turned to Christianity was a win for Rome.
It was a rich Jewish family that paid cesar. Just like the AIPAC lobby controls every US president, congress, and senate. The younger generation is figuring that out. The old folks on this site will probably never wake up.
And you argued this WASN'T a anti-Christian blog.

What's the problem? If you don't pay Cesar, he won't train your dog! Wake up, indeed!
It is a problem if you believe in democracy or that Americans should control America. It is not a problem if you think the highest bidder acting on behalf of a foreign government should control America, and use that control to funnel your tax dollars to the foreign country while Americans live in tent cities.
Go easy on the conspiracy spouting bro. At one time I believed the Trilateral Commission was the real government behind our supposedly duly elected politicians. But, they never would have allowed President Obama to be elected, and, as an anti-globalist, the orange guy has pretty flagrantly defied them. He actually fist pumps when he gets up from an assassination attempt.
Don't worry about "the Jews" AI is the emerging monster!
It is much easier to believe in a savior that will save you just by believing he existed and accepting his mission to save the world then to prove that he actually existed or exists. The appeal of Christianity that has resulted in hundreds of millions of believers is that it spells out an easy way to salvation which taps into the hope of most people that there is an afterlife. The hope for a wonderful afterlife is a powerful tool used by religious leaders to attract more sheep weather their motives are sincere or not. Few people who blindly accept the existence of Jesus end up ever questioning the origins of the Jesus story. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that if there is an eternal life ahead that there is any way that we can earn it. But neither do I think that we have to be saved by a savior that may have never really existed.
