Martin Treptow and the COGs
Aristophanes
During WW1, MartinTreptow was a young solider in the 168th infantry of the 42nd Rainbow division.
The division was involved in fierce combat against the Germans at the Croix Rouge Farm
in France. During the assault on Hill 212 a volunteer was needed to deliver a message to a platoon of American infantry. Treptow willingly stepped forward to serve as the messenger. Tragically as Treptow neared the besieged platoon he was cut down by a barrage of German machine gun fire.
After the battle American soldiers found in Treptow's blouse his diary. Under the flyleaf there was a handwritten pledge by Treptow dated December 31, 1917. The pledge stated:
"The end of a long
Journey
...
America must win this war
Therefore I will work,
I will save,
I will sacrifice
I will endure
I will fight cheerfully and
do my utmost as if the
whole issue of the struggle
depended on me alone."
Treptow's commitment and sacrifice was mentioned by Ronald Reagan during his first First Inaugural Address.
“The crisis we are facing today does not require of us the kind of sacrifice that Martin Treptow and so many thousands of others were called upon to make.
It does require, however, our best effort and our willingness to believe in ourselves and believe in our capacity to perform great deeds, to believe that together and with God’s help we can and will resolve the problems which confront us.
And, after all, why shouldn’t we believe that? We are Americans.”
Given all the suffering around us, it is time we all commit ourselves to truly love our fellow man. It is time especially for the COGs that are so vocal about being “God's people” to turn from their hypocritical selfish ways, and to truly love others. Treptow's example calls us all to a better path.

You take a solemn occasion and use it to attach the Church. And you call us hateful.
There was nothing in that entry that was hateful or an attack. It was constructive criticism. You ACOG guys seem to have thin skin!
A polite constructive rebuke is not hateful. Devouring widows houses, which all COGs do is hateful.
"selfish way?" Why is Christianity typically defined as an attack on self interest and self profit? Hint, hint, socialism. What did Christ say about this matter?
Matthew 19:27-30.
27 Then Peter said in reply, ‘Look, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?’
NOTICE HERE HOW CHRIST RESPONDED WITH "PETER, YOU ARE BEING SO SELFISH. THINK ABOUT OTHERS INSTEAD. ERR, NO, HE ANSWERED DIFFERENTLY.
28 Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man is seated on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold,[a] and will inherit eternal life.
We are able to help others as a function of our own strengths, financial surpluses, or fund of knowledge. Obviously, the good Samaritan had the physical resources to care for the unfortunate victim in the parable. The Gentile Christians were able to respond to Paul's collection for the impoverished Jewish Christians.
I don't know where the concept of a Millennium with a kindly administrated form of communism came from. The Bible seems to indicate that there will be individuals with varying degrees of talent in the Millennium, but no poor or needy ones. Some form of capitalism appears to be God's natural order in terms of financial/human needs matters. Humanity seems to need to get up to speed with regard to tapping into blessings and rewards.
