Church of God propehcy addicts are a dime a dozen any more in COGland. Every day a new one seems to crawl out of the rotting carcass with new and absurd predictions.
Anyway, none of these guys can top our Great Anyway Bwana Bob Mzungu Thiel, the biggest prophecy addict and record-setting failure, right after Dave Pack.
Anyway, imagine having to sit through fourteen plus hours with bouncing Bob on the screen in front you you, arms flailing, and his big fat bbile thrust in your face. Anyway, the licking flames of the lake of fire would be more merciful than having to listen to this for over fourteen hours.
The Great Bwana Bob writes:

I do not think we need to look very far for an abomination spreading falsehoods and deceiving the brethren when it lives among us, right now.

Back when big bunches of us were hungrily devouring the latest issues of Ambassador Reports, and leaving original WCG as the false prophecies for 1975 failed to materialize, and as all of the corruption was being exposed, I coined a descriptive phrase: "The Abomination of Defecation"
Somehow it seemed very apropos to the entire smelly Armstrongism mess from which we were walking away.

Wouldn't Bob freak to finally understand that the Book of Daniel was written in the 160''s BCE to encourage Jewish zealots in the Maccabean rebellion to hang in there, stay Torah loyal and it will all work out soon? The Syrian Antiochus Epiphanes had other plans for Jerusalem. The Maccabeans were successful in restoring their worship, in the wars of 167-160 BCE. When Herod the Great was installed as King by Rome in 37 BCE, all returned to Roman rule with the Jewish Hasmonean Dynasty driven out.
The reason the "prophecy" about the Kingdoms that have come and gone with Rome being yet present in the day is that the story was back written and outcomes already known of course. book. Daniel 11 is so accurate and detailed because the realities of the times were well known and current. Daniel 12 gets very vague because the outcome was yet to be known. Eventually, Rome won that one.
The same approach was taken in the writing of Revelation, with all the Book of Daniel inclusions, but this time to encourage Jewish Christians under Roman siege during the Fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD (IMHO). Rome won that one as well.
Both Daniel and Revelation are failed prophecies and never were intended for 2000 plus years into the future.
One problem in the Churches of God "prophetic" understanding is that they read both books like they would a newspaper or daily news on the Internet. And yet, the books , to this day, inspire the faithful to see the Second Coming as "soon", "Shortly" and "shortly to come to pass". This fear-based approach to Christianity can build a church, for a time until shortly goes very very long again. They one ends up saying they fought a good fight and kept the faith and will still get a reward after death, as the Apostle Paul was forced to come to believe to his own disappointment.
99.999999% will never or never have seen the abomination of desolation. Concerning the time of the end, how can some ministers who are past four score (80), be so concerned about the end time when the end time is most likely the end of our lives. Notice how when the disciples ask Christ will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel, after His resurrection. He said, it is not for you to know the times and seasons which the Father has put in His authority (Acts 1:7).
Now Christ would have erred had he said, “well it’s going to be nearly two more thousand years in the future, or the date will be this in the future or nowhere near your lifetime.” In fact he told Peter earlier how he would die sort of. He gave the perfect answer so that christians could live the right way of life with the proper mindset within ministry. Had he said it would be thousands of years in the future, some of them probably would have just gone back into their fishing boats, who knows. But Christ gave the perfect answer for that time period.

Seems like there are an awful lot of new "end times" dangers we never thought we'd see these days. Some of them have got to be affecting the ACOGs just like everyone else. Anybody know if any COG members have been arrested by ICE and taken to the camps yet? Deported?
Correct, that Covid seemed to be one of those end time dangers that caused confusion for some like LCG. Also I guess some of the end time dangers now are AI and DOGE taking peoples jobs. But this is the administration and not coming from Germany. But the previous year, ACOG told its membership that woke, DEI, CRT and socialism were the end time dangers.
Actually, 9:55, those four things you cited can and do promote economic opportunities and greater freedom. Just depends on who you are. However certain types and classes of people have been carefully groomed by politicians to see them as threats against Mom, apple pie, and the American way of the golden 1950s.
I'm thinking that the Germans wouldn't necessarily need to attack to destroy life as we have come to know it throughout our walk upon the planet. All that is required for that is the German WW-II national attitude. It could develop to the point at which it will come from within. It may be too early to tell, but there are enough signs of that beginning to happen. ACOG leaders are not of sufficient intelligence to even conceptualize that. Their minds are wrapped around the cliches and slogans that come from partisan think tanks and the HWA archives.
Jesus Christ did say 'Watch' and gave warnings recorded in the gospels, on the times of the end 'Tank'.
4:24 Oh you mean the gospels that start off with the beatitudes. We know it says watch, but ya'll (you guys) act as if the olivet prophecy is the majority of the gospel or the whole gospel. It's a small portion of the gospels.
You think in your lifetime you'll see the abomination of desolation? Well so did Armstrong, Meredith, GTA...... It could happen in your lifetime, but I would attempt to live my life with a different perspective and attitude than to be watching all the time. But you do you, since we are living in the times of the end.

I couldn’t have referenced it better than this. I mean myself and Scout have tried to warn some of these groups about their christian white nationalistic attitudes and how dangerous it is. Correct, those acog leaders are not wise enough to discern what is even going on from within. They spent their free time listening to Limbaugh, Hannity, O'reilly…..
The gospels start with the gealogy, prophecy and beginnings of Jesus actually "Tank".
Tank, you said, “nearly 2000 years.” Why would you say that number? Why not 2500 years? Or 3000 years? You have witnessed fail after fail after fail, both in Armstrongism and out, but you still maintain the “few short years” belief. It’s been 50 [F-BOMB OMITTED] years since Christ was supposed to return. Apparently the aliens who wrote the Bible had other things going by 1972, and so let Armstrong down.
Hey, that makes as much sense of some of the ideas proposed.
In all seriousness, even if the Bible is real, when you even suggest such a date-setting, or simply demonstrating yourself to be channeling a child molester or one of his followers.
LEE WALKER!!!! I CALL YOU TO THE CARPET. HE DIDN'T TOUCH ME!!! I made a typo, I meant @000 years. But you, you were touched by Armstrong in that special way. We cross!
Cowboy!
Uh, Cowboy, I was clearly talking to Tank, a totally different person. In fact, I don’t see any place else where you commented here. You must be on the wrong blog post. No problem. It happens.
Where did this cowboy creep come from? Stay out of our discussion man!
I wasn't even talking to you Lee Walker, I was commenting to anonymous! I was using a 2000 year thing in a general sense not in an exact sense like Armystrongism. So you believe in aliens, i mean angels??? Oh we going to convert you Lee. Come to the Light my friend.
Tank
Yeah. I wonder where “Cowboy” came from, too, talking about typos he didn’t do, but sure match your reply. Almost as if somebody forgot, which false of their personas on here he was playing.
Yeah. I wonder.
And for the record, I am open to facts, but I really don’t believe in aliens. I used that in the general sense of an alternative theory about the Bible, not in exact since like that Greek guy on Ancient Aliens (which I do find entertaining, and sometimes educational for its discussion of old artifacts).
But yeah. I do wonder about that “Cowboy.”
Yea Lee Walker, we both wonder about that "Cowboy" guy, it makes sense now. Hey speaking of aliens I bet you are like this kind of conspiracy type of guy. You probably believe that the aliens built the pyramids, but then again that might be better than the armstrongist theory of how they were built. Better yet, just chill and grab some popcorn and watch: Cowboys & Aliens
Hey LEE WALKER, Four-Score!!!
I’ve been accused of believing in aliens. Truth is, I have to acknowledge the possibility that extraterrestrials have come to this planet, dropped off members of the lamest species in the galaxy (they make Paklids look competent), and these beings are now posting on blogs all under the label, “Anonymous,” because they are too scared to identify themselves, and too lame for each of them to hold to his or her own single unique handle.
I am not saying this is what is actually going on. But it would explain a lot.
Oh Lee Walker , just be content that you've outed yourself. Of course you believe in aliens as you love startrek, so of course it's going to be in your psychology. Some individuals have multiple names or wear many hats. As you have heard Jesus has quite a few handles , but you don't believe. It's okay we love you regardless. And don't worry about those anonymous extraterrestrials, because you never run into them in real life.
By the way nice article on united, TBC
Tank, I mean......
“Some individuals have multiple names or wear many hats.”
Wow! Awhile back, I made the same point, but I was told it wasn’t true. Thank you for confirming yet again just how right I am.
What the hell??? Cowboy needs to go back to Brokeback Mountain! Naughty cyber punk!
Who in the blue moon are you 8:07!!! This is between Lee Walker Huckleberry & his cats and me, and you can take your degeneracy back to the land of Sodom (since you enjoy watching that kind of stuff). As for you Lee Walker, I don't know who told you that your point wasn't true, but I have the authority to tell you that your point is true to lift that heavy burden from you.
You know
