LCG: Remember boys and girls, the ministry is here to edify you, but your pride has filled you with contentions and disagreements.

Well, it's another day in the Living Church of God, where members are treated like naughty little children—as if that's anything new.

They're constantly reminded that the ministry exists to edify and build up the body of Christ, yet these wayward members refuse to heed their messages because they're supposedly filled with pride, contention, and disagreements. Worst of all, some members dare to have their own ideas, which are often better than those of the ministers they have to deal with. But the absolute worst are those who spread negative comments to others—something the ministry would NEVER do!

Members apparently forget they need to learn humility and be open to "reason" from the ministry.

How great it would be if Winnail and the upper elite actually praised the members for once.

Humility—a Key to Unity: David wrote, “How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” (Psalm 133:1). The Apostle Paul urged Christians to “walk worthy” of their calling “with all lowliness and gentleness… endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1–3). He also stated that the work of the ministry is to edify (build up) the body of Christ (the Church) “till we all come to the unity of the faith” (Ephesians 4:12–13). Yet the Scriptures reveal that pride causes contentions and disagreements (Proverbs 13:10) and that promoting our own ideas and passing on negative comments about others fosters division (Proverbs 16:28). However, humility and being willing to listen to reason will promote peace and unity (James 3:17–18). Let’s grow in humility and unity.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail

Was Doug promoting his own ideas when he chose to commit what the Bible calls an "abomination" by remarrying his then-twice-divorced ex-wife, in violation of the OT statute? Or was that an example of his humility?

Notice how Doug calls "reason" a bad thing when members do it, but a good thing when ministers do it and members must listen to it.

Yep, pride causes contentions and disagreements, and that’s the epitome of splinterdom. Also as a former member of LCG, I can attest, that Winnail is a prideful individual. Some of the leadership is blinded in this.

Oh, didn't everyone notice? It is the duty and calling of all COGlodytes to mollify the ministry!

“The work of the ministry is to edify.” Sure. What does that actually mean and how that will be carried out is the rub.

Purpose

Besides providing paychecks for the big shots, the purpose of the (barely) Living Church of Rod is to have a place where all the self-appointed big shots can each make up and promote their own personal pet heresy, like the two-fold or hybrid gospel, the marriage supper in heaven, and the falling away being something that happens out in the world.

6:24:33 AM,

Norman S. Edwards, a former Global Church of Rod employee, copier of church mailing lists for himself, “leader of the leaderless Independents,” and “herder of cats,” absolutely loved the idea of breaking down the old Worldwide Church of God into lone individuals each going their own way and making up their own doctrines, calendars, and everything else.

The splinter groups have not quite yet achieved this ideal of each individual standing all alone in his own personal confusion. The splinter groups still need to split and splinter a little bit more to achieve this goal. Considering all the sin, pride, arrogance, and contention, this might be doable.

9:15 It was trending that way, when you consider LCG- Raymond McNair, Charles Bryce, Sheldon Munson, (Bob Thiel, although he was never....), and probably others started groups with their own ways.

Norm Edwards was a con artist and a religious fraud, so it stands to reason why Bob Thiel looks to him for advice. Two narcissistic con artists leading brethren astray. Edwards was a pompous jackass when he was in Pasadena. Stealing member lists was not the only dishonest thing Edwards did.

Gotta keep the money supply "edified".

Unity is a code word for faking reality and pretending to believe the slop from the pulpit.

Doug Winnail, again blaming/judging his followers for not coming up to his character standards, as if it were possible for them to earn their salvation to enter God's Kingdom when another Jesus "very soon" returns to reign on earth 1,000 years and then Jerusalem is toppled after Satan exits the bottomless pit, believes he is part of God's ministry to edify his followers, but is that so?

Time is telling. Doug's Mickey Mouse millennium has not "very soon" been established with his "another Jesus" reigning on earth.

Yes, the Apostle Paul spoke about how God gave: "...gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"

Of course, that word "some" should be replaced by the word "the," and Doug who claims to be an evangelist, is not one of "the evangelists" cited in that verse. Doug is just a hireling who fled the former WCG of Pasadena, leaving his WCG ministerial credentials behind (like so many other hirelings of the former WCG did), to be part of a group of scattered brethren, hoping to do better than what was accomplished under HWA.

The Apostle Paul also told us this:

2 Cor 11:13 "For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
:15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

Is Doug one of these ministers of righteousness....or, a minister of, perhaps, SELF-righteousness? Time is telling.

Doug wrote: "Let’s grow in humility," but Doug, how? You don't explain it.

Can the Bible help?

"By humility [and] the fear of the LORD [are] riches, and honour, and life." Proverbs 22:4

Fear of the LORD, can be proved by scriptures, to be a fruit of God's Spirit; God must work out (Phil 1:6; 2:13) that fear.

Humility?

Deuteronomy 8:2 "And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

:16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;"

God must provide the humility, and He did not do so with those Israelites, who continued to not keep God's commandments, because they had a carnal heart (Romans 8:7).

Without God's Spirit, one can't do it. The lives of the ancient Israelites prove it. We have their example.

We could ask Doug: how have you grown in humility? How did you do it? How did you accomplish becoming humble, because it appears that without receiving God's Spirit (and thus fear and humility from God via His grace!!!!), it isn't going to happen.

So, if Doug feels he has to continue to browbeat, blame and judge, his followers for not "being like him," and he knows it, then he will just have to continue repeating the same message, changing a word here and there a little in each message....repeating, repeating, repeating...!

Is Doug one of “the evangelists,” or an evangelist falsely so-called, or just one of many hirelings “transformed as the ministers of righteousness?”

By their fruits/works we may know them, but for how much longer will Doug's "beatings" of his followers continue?

Time will tell...

John
