And you grew up in the church if you no longer celebrated holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. because, truth be told, church people were rebels who enjoyed bucking the system and were cheap to the core. Joining the C of G was a way to avoid spending money on other people. It was a nice passive aggressive way of making your family angry and hurt by dissing their beliefs and practices. You could just blame it on your religion after all.

You grew up in the church if you had the doctrine of eternal insecurity and the dread fear of the tribulation and lake of fire. No hope offered by the church at all.
Your knowledge of Jesus was limited because he was never mentioned.
Famine of hearing the word meant the words of HWA not Jesus! HWA was the WORD!
Yes, the glory of growing up in the church.

We know you grew up in the church when you shouldnt have been there, because you seem to have lots of time on your hands stealing photos online and then spending hours coming up with propaganda photoshopping them so people are deceived by all the lies you continue to excrete on a daily basis.

I know not many visit this site because you dont even register on the alexa rankings but still you and your handfull of regular gang members need to learn what love really is and it's not what you find here, thats for sure.

Wow! What a whiny little Armstrongite who can't handle his beliefs being made fun of. If you are that insecure then why are you reading this blog? Anyone that can't make fun of their belief system has some serious issues in life. Armstrongism was made to be mocked, especially with the likes of Flurry, Pack and Meredith in charge.

Anonymous 3:11 -- we know YOU grew up in the church because any notion of independent thinking -- of questioning ANYTHING AT ALL -- was "disciplined" out of you a long time ago, and because you think that posting like that is the equivalent of "defending the truth" and "righteous anger."

You accomplished nothing but to have more mockery come the way of you and yours. Feel better?

I wont even waste my time responding to that accusation of being an "Armstrongite" or an "Independent thinker" as you lot seem to think you know everything about everyone. How self righteous can you get!

You really need to quit feeling sorry for yourselves with your accusations and finger pointing, you're like a bunch of bullies in a school yard who are so jealous and hard done by because people just love God's truth which you keep trashing and will do anything to lie about so you can turn people away, toward your weird and warped way of thinking.

You wont change peoples minds because everyone knows how twisted this site is. So once again you lose another argument. The best thing to do is close down this propaganda site (go on, I know you really want to) and just be happy instead of letting everyone know how frustrated you all are. For some reason you cant seem to see how bad this makes you all look.

3:11 if there are cog members upset about this site they should understand that this site has some legitimate grievences, despite its hyperbolic and frankly ridiculous and juvenile way of expressing them...

ironically you mention they not knowing what love is on this site: indeed it is because the original wwcg neglected, if not outright rejected the concept of love, and that led to the ultimate demise of the Church i grew up in:

what with their bigotry, social cliques, hypocrisy, wrongheaded tithing policies that clearly contradicted principles that the Apostle Saul taught and what obviously were more geared towards the service of mammon rather than God, just to name a few...

to come on this site with absolutely no realization or understanding of the very real and legitimate suffering that old wwcg imposed upon many is to further demonstrate the kind attitude that justifies Christ appointing certain in the Church their portion with the hypocrites...

having said all this, i benefitted greatly from wwcg teachings and hold them dear, but i honestly had to hold my nose and sift through the garbage to get to this point...

I can see and understand how some individuals who are still mired in a humorless religious philosophy might be put off by people who have relearned the art of having fun. Let's face it, in the "special" world of WCG/HWA, hyperbole was only to be used to describe "the work", satire was reserved for dissing the world, the Pope, and anyone else whose life didn't embody HWA's world view that all of us believed Jesus and God would enforce in the Millennium and the KoG for all eternity.

For most of us, walking around on a daily basis with our corncobs firmly inserted into our rectums, looking disparagingly upon all of those around us who were not "in the church" was unfortunately a daily way of life. That attitude didn't embody Christianity, or Christian values, but none of us cared, because those terms had been conveniently redefined for us as part of the Kool Aid. We were the elect!

Armstrongism runs deep, in fact, so deep, that those once involved often continue to use it as a standard by which they evaluate and either adapt or reject any incoming information. That anyone could transistion to new, improved, or different standards, and actually have some fun doing it does not compute with them. The fact that this and other "truth serum" sites can even be some sort of visible example angers the controlling ministers who use psychospiritual warfare to fight for every dollar of the dwindling tithe pie.

I don't believe most of us who are regulars here are looking for acceptance, ar acceptability at this point. At best, we aspire to stimulate some thought, thought that could end up freeing people who still live their lives in an entrapped state.

although i grew up in the wwcg, i have not attended since the late '80's, and in the years since i only briefly attended lcg, yet i still keep the Sabbath and the Holy days because it is Commanded in the Word of God, not beccause armstrong told me to do so...

i look to no man for my salvation, nor do i rely upon my own understanding or the understanding of any who think the reasoning of a human being is greater than the Word of God;

we all were born knowing nothing, and the little bit of knowledge apart from God that we acquire in our short lifetime offers little hope for the future, and clearly does little to enhance the lives of humanity in general beyond that of any other flesh and blood animal...
