New Video: The UnPack-It Premiere!! Cult Kids Read Cult Literature: The Missing Dimension In Sex, Part 1

Join the fun!

In this inaugural episode of "UnPack-It," join two unabashedly foul-mouthed Apostate Sisters and their charismatic ally, MisterDiffiCULT, as they embark on a bold journey through the controversial literature of their former cult, the Worldwide Church of God. As survivors and former cult children, we, Patti, Nancy, and Joel bring unique insights and raw commentary on the writings of cult leader Herbert W. Armstrong. These texts played a crucial role in our parents' indoctrination and shaped our lives until we broke free. For our premiere episode, we tackle "The Missing Dimension in Sex," a book notorious for its prudish yet paradoxically explicit discourse on what Herbert W. Armstrong deemed the 'New Morality.' Prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions as we dissect the bombastic language, doublespeak, contradictions, and disempowering messages peppered throughout this text. Not shying away from the nitty-gritty, this book dives into the mechanics of sex in a way that's as detailed as it is cringeworthy. Get ready to laugh, cringe, and maybe even get offended as we revel in our freedom, boldness, and the grand scale of our apostasy. Whether you're here to reminisce, learn, or simply enjoy the chaos, this episode is sure to entertain and enlighten. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell icon to not miss out on our journey of deconstructing cult indoctrination through humor and critique. Why are they so naughty? Are they purposely adopting the raucous excessive foul language styles of Richard Pryor or Sam Kinison? šŸ¤¬ It doesn't seem entirely healthy despite their honest attempt to examine the HWA sex book.

This is normal and healthy. I especially love seeing the "Black Lives Matter" sign in the background! Beats Bob Thiels crooked pictures and bookshelves all to hell! When you first leave the repression and hypocrisy of Armstrongism, it's party time for a while. This is golden time for these gals! It's reminiscent of Pasadena in the mid 1970s right as the Great Disappointment of 1975 was sinking in. That was a different era, though, and there were more things to do. The church WATS line to prank, exciting rock concerts, new vocabulary, hair styles, and attire. Turning one's friends who were slow to get the message on to these things. There were stories of midnight raids on the church's news boxes at the supermarkets to throw away the Plain Truth magazines so new batches of people would not become damaged. Oh, and the parties! Incredible stereo systems and dancing in back yards, with (gasp!) young people of all races present! I remember one particularly salient Saturday night event where some of us with hot cars "tested" the 210 Freeway which had not yet opened, by going around the barriers and staging some impromptu drag races! We scattered when the police helicopter began circling, and everyone made it home safely without getting busted.

It was kind of nice to walk around Pasadena for the first time without people knowingly smirking and saying "Oh, we know where you are from!"

I don't know what happened to everyone else, but eventually I reached a new equilibrium and became more serious about life and its responsibilities, although retaining some of the changes. Still, It's fun to absorb some of the energy from these gals and their friends. Let 'em have their fun!

I remember seeing Mr. Cohoon filling the P.T. newsstand at Giantway grocery in 1986 one day...then seeing some Maranatha lady the next day tossing them into the trash...memory lane.
