Who Have You Placed Your Identity In?

Who should you place your identity in today? Should it be in a physical church? A so-called spiritual one? Or, in the One you should be placing your identity in?

Samuel Kitchen says it should be IN the Worldwide Church of God. He writes:

The Holy Spirit distinguishes the Worldwide Church of God from all other peoples.

If someone is called of God, receives the Holy Spirit of God, the more they walk by the Word of God the more they look like the Worldwide Church of God!

Eventually they will have to accept the fact that their identity is the Worldwide Church of God aka the true Church of God.

And I think that is what is being suppressed in these church groups! The ability to finally come into the full identity of the Worldwide Church of God.

If you attend with these other churches, you can’t wholly take on the identity of the true Church of God. Because the more obey the word of God, the more you run head on into the government of God. The Worldwide Church of God only has the government of God.

The more families and people submit God’s will and government the more they become The Worldwide Church of God .

And the more you obey God the more you have to separate away from that which is not of God! Come out of her my people!

Obey God no matter where you are!

People have joined with these cog groups saying this other church has people obeying God.
My family was shown how the idea of a second church is heresy. And since not one of the cog groups have continued with 100% of what was learned by the members of the Worldwide Church of God, but only parts of it, we are commanded to avoid those groups! To hold fast!

This has led us to proclaim the continued existence of the Worldwide Church of God as a spiritual body!

It also has led me to warn brethren about departures from God and His Truth and against heresies. This is the Laodicean warning! Don’t become lukewarm or indifferent to what God says in His Word!

You won’t slide into the Kingdom of God! You won’t be protected by mingling with other people! You have to WALK according to Gods Word!

The more we do, the more Satan gets angry. Because he thought by destroying the human organization for the Work would destroy the church! But if you are in another church obey God! If you are in jail, obey God! Wherever you are obey God!

Then God will gather his flock. You just have to obey God and not get caught up among the sifting machine Satan is using against you!

After reading this bullshit, it is no wonder the Church of God today is an extreme mess of idiocy and utter blasphemy. Any Christian, even a nominal one, recognizes their identity is in Jesus Christ and NOT in any physical, "spiritual" church or some gelatinous slimy thing they love to call the spiritual organism. Their identity is in The ONE.

They know this because because of how God sees his children:

You Are Loved

In Christ, you are loved. You were created with a purpose. You are not just a convenient carbon copy of someone else. You were created uniquely and with intention. God lovingly designed every detail of your person. Can you imagine the love involved with that intricate design?

You Are Chosen

In Christ, you are not only loved but chosen. God sent His own Son to earth to die in your place so that you could be included in His family.

God was not obligated to choose you based on your performance or credentials. He chose to carry out an intricate plan that involved the death of His own perfect Son, which allowed you the opportunity to be a child of God.

You are no mistake. You are chosen and wanted.

You Are Forgiven

In order to be counted a child of the perfect Father, you had to be free of sin — that is, you had to be perfect with regard to doing right and not doing wrong. That is a tall order considering no one but Jesus was or is perfect and no one can attain perfection by their own effort.

However, because Jesus, who was without sin, died the death you should have on the cross, you can be forgiven of sin. What you’ve done wrong is not counted against you, and all that Christ did right is counted for you. This forgiveness allows you to be considered a child of God.

Therefore, in God’s eyes, if you have accepted what Jesus did for you, you are completely forgiven. From His perspective, you are without sin. It’s not that you won’t sin, but when He looks at you, He calls you forgiven. That is something on which you can build your identity.

You Are Redeemed

What does your forgiveness mean? You are redeemed — that is, Christ’s sacrifice has bought you back from the forces of sin and evil that once owned and controlled you and made you His.

When God looks at you, He does not see a former sinner. He does not see you in light of who you once were. He sees you as redeemed: a new creation that has been made whole.

You do not have to define yourself in light of your past mistakes. God does not do that. You can walk in the identity of someone who is made new in Christ.

You Are Adopted

What does it mean to be considered a child of God? It means that you have been adopted into His family. You are considered a legitimate child of the God of the universe, having all the rights and standing of Jesus His Son.

God sees you as a cherished child who bears His name. Just as earthly adoption is a legally binding process that names you a permanent part of a family, heavenly adoption is just as permanent and binding. You are His child, and He will never take that away. Your Identity in Christ: How God Sees You

Our identity is not in the Worldwide Church of God or that creepy thing they call the spiritual organism. It is most certainly not in the Worldwide Church of God, Herbert Armstrong, Bob Thiel, Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, or ANY other COG leader.

It also is NOT our identity to be abused by church government under Armstrongism. This perverse teaching has led us down the rabbit hole to the spiraling mess the COG is in today with its various apostate and heretical leaders. Armstrongite church government has allowed abuse to rob people of their literal lives. Armstrongite church government robs people of a deep spiritual connection to Jesus.

Church of God Network: My Time in the Philadelphia Church of God

This week, we dive into an incredibly insightful testimony from our guest, who shares his journey in the Philadelphia Church of God. We discuss the challenges of living in a high-control environment, what ultimately led him/his family to leave, and the impact that decision had on them and their relationships. It’s a raw and thought-provoking conversation that highlights the strength and resilience of those who step away from fringe groups.

Church of God Network is an amalgamation of various COG groups uniting together for a common cause, usually devoid of the extremism extant in some COGs today. If I were still involved in the COG movement, this group would certainly be more joyful and encouraging than most of the larger COG groups are. Their feast sites certainly look and sound so much better. They also have been really successful in capitalizing on social media and its powerful impact.

A comment on their video had this:

Enjoyed the fireside chat going through decades of history and real life experience without any bitterness. Love the empathy he has towards people who are still stuck in PCG and can’t escape because the moment they do their family disowns them . Eric was right to say that the PCG look down on other groups and look down on those who leave PCG, attend other Church of God groups and people in the world in general. That is unless you are someone who furthers their own false prophesies about Jeroboam.

The Church of God movement has a problem, and it is not centered on so-called anti-COG websites and blogs. When everyday members also recognize the lies and abuse currently going on, it should be a wake call to the bigger groups. Their members are leaving in droves and going with more rational COG groups, including COG7, or nowhere at all. The glaring problem is that these problematic groups really don't care and carry on as usual.

Church of God Network's mission and vision statements should be a wake-up call to the Churches of God. You are failing your people, and people are waking up. The church had a chance to reenvision itself when the changes all happened, and yet the vast majority carried on the same old way, carrying on the abuse and outlandish prophecy lies. Today, younger COG members have a chance to create a new vision.

Our Mission

To help build community within the Church of God by facilitating connection, encouraging conversations, and giving back.

At Church of God Network, our mission is simple: to help build a vibrant and united global Church of God community. Through meaningful connections, engaging conversations, and giving back, we’re creating the framework for connection through the world of social and in-person networking. Join us as we embark on this incredible journey, where your voice matters and your passion strengthens our network.

Our Vision

Imagine a cohesive and dynamic Body of Christ, where fellowship abounds, open communication is the norm, and active cooperation fuels growth. We’re dedicated to nurturing a Church of God community where members from each COG organization come together in harmony to do good works with and for one another. Our vision is simple: A community that thrives on unity of the spirit, understanding, and a shared sense of purpose for the coming Kingdom of God.

Happy Thanksgiving And Shame On You For Watching Football Today! SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a sunny, glorious Thanksgiving day here in California along the coast, and our most important living prophet to ever grace the Churches of God since the dawn of creation is extending to all a Happy Thanksgiving! Unless, of course, you are one of those Laodicean degenerate reprobates that like watching football or, God forbid, playing tackle football on a Thanksgiving afternoon with family and friends. The horrors!!!!!!!

The Great Magnanimous One starts off in his very first paragraph with this beauty of a comment:

Today is the national holiday in the USA called Thanksgiving. And despite certain claims, its specific origins are not pagan. But, of course, no Christian needs to celebrate national holidays like it if they do not wish to (cf. Romans 14). And the Bible does condemn gluttony.

Is this self-indulgent twit ever happy about anything?

He then writes that we should always give thanks.

Yet, whether on this day or others, the Bible teaches that people should give thanks:

4 Sing praise to the LORD, You saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name (Psalm 30:4).

The Bible is full of admonitions to give thanks to God. The New King James Version of the Bible has the word ‘thank’ 25 times, ‘thanks’ 75 times, ‘thankful’ 3 times, and ‘thanksgiving’ 32 times. It also has the word ‘praise’ 237 times and ‘praises’ 11 times.

Then...it descends into the degenerate pits of false 'propehtry' and its endless nonsense:

One thing that I have noticed on the day called Thanksgiving by those in the USA, is when I have been at many other places than the home I lived in, American football has been playing on television.

For many, other than food and family, football is a major focus of the Thanksgiving holiday for many in the USA.

He also quotes Armstrongist quackery from 1969. It is no wonder the Armstrongist belief system has always been so depressing. The boogeyman and evil lurk around every corner, ready to devour you. Armstrongism has never been about joy and happiness.

A 1969 article by Eugene M. Walker put out by the old Worldwide Church of God had the following:

To many Americans Thanksgiving Day means sumptuous turkey dinners, family reunions and football games…There is nothing necessarily wrong with good food, family reunions…on Thanksgiving Day. But all too many use these activities wrongly and forget the purpose for the holiday. Many glut themselves with far more food than they ought to eat; few, however, stop to give God thanks for this food – even on Thanksgiving Day. Family reunions all too often turn out to be family brawls…Millions of others push and shove one another in large crowds at football games and parades, and kill one another on the highway as they madly strive to make sure they get their fair quota of pleasure. (Walker EM. Plain Truth, Thanksgiving Day: What does it mean to you? November 1969, pp. 39-41).

Notice he wrote that certain activities were not necessarily wrong. Of course, a friendly game of flag football and a family dinner should be fine. But what about violent professional or intercollegiate American football?

The Great Bwana, the Bubba to Africa, and a few Caucasians then drags out Herbert to reinforce his anti-football stance:

Over a decade later, the late Herbert W. Armstrong wrote:

Hostility toward the other is sin…

Football (American football) is a violent body-contact sport. It is often played with an attitude of hostility and is dangerous and is fraught with physical injury. (Plain Truth, July-August 1984)

Wherever a game in sports involves ANTAGONISTS–in HOSTILE ATTITUDE to harm the other and/or to “GET” from the other–to get the best of the other–then a harmful, Satanic and evil attitude enters in, and the sport is EVIL, not good…football,
(American football)…because football is such a violent body contact sport, it TOO OFTEN is played in an ATTITUDE OF HOSTILITY, and is too DANGEROUS and fraught with PHYSICAL INJURY . Therefore it must be BANNED so far as participation by God’s Church or people is concerned…This is sufficient to illustrate the application of the PRINCIPLE of God’s Law to sports. That participated in with an attitude of HOSTILITY toward the opponent is evil. That which HARMS mentally or physically an opponent is evil.
Satan is the author of COMPETITION based on hostility, harm to the opponent, GETTING by taking FROM an opponent–to his harm or loss. God’s way is LOVE TOWARD neighbor equal to love of self. (Armstrong HW. Not all sports are banned. Pastor General’s Report, Volume 2, Issue 36, September 5, 1980)

Yet, Herbert watched football games as well as his beloved Lakers basketball games. COG prophets and leaders protested too much.

Our resident Crackpot prophet then lashes out at those who thank God  for football:

While I have even heard some people thank God for football, it is not a sport that I believe that the God of love would condone.
The person that Jesus stated was greater than all others born of women (Matthew 11:11), John the Baptist taught:

14 Do violence to no man (Luke 3:14, KJV)

He then quotes several sources on sports injuries and then adds these dingers:

The truth about the harm the sport causes is something that professing Christians, and others, who think that they should watch American football, should think about.

As the above article points out, many (including Laodicean Christians) are too selfish to stop watching and encouraging the playing of American tackle football.

Christians should give God thanks, but not encourage violence in sports like American tackle football.

The Great Bubba Bob Mzungu ends his missive with this:

To close, perhaps I should mention that we do not ‘add a day’ to God’s holy days if we somehow observe Thanksgiving or other national holidays. National observances are NOT holy days, nor does anyone have to keep them. Jesus, however, observed at least one (cf. (John 10:22-23), setting an example that we can if we so choose. But not through encouraging violence.

Even Jesus is sitting there in the third heaven, shaking his head as to why he and the rest of the Holy Trinity ever dreamed Bob up as they were creating the foundations of the world. Their gift of free will in their creation created a monster!

Can Prophecy Really Come Alive?

Ecclesiastes 8:7

"Since no one knows the future, who can tell someone else what is to come?"

"For he does not know what will happen; So who can tell him when it will occur?"

"If no one knows what will happen, who can tell him when it will happen?"

============

I am not personally of the view that there is actually such a skill or ability of anyone to predict the future. Generally perhaps based on trends, but not specifically as the Bible seems to do. Prophets of the past, in my view, may have spoken about what they felt would happen in their own times, but "prophecies" thousands of years in advance are simply not possible.

Anyone can, if they are willing, to see that what seems like prophecy, such as the 8 "and thus it was fulfilled"s of Matthew 2, concerning the birth story of Jesus, are merely back written into his tale, which in no way agrees with Lukes Birth Narratives, and a clear making Old Testament scriptures mean what they never actually mean when written down.

The reason Jesus last crucifixion story and his last words seem prophesied is because the author of the Gospels lifted quotes from the Psalms to flesh out a story, they really had no idea about how it went down nor were they witnesses of it.

Prophecy is not so much history prophesied, but prophecy historized and brought ahead into the present by writers intending to give the impression the present was pre-dicted long ago, when it was not.

For example, the reason Daniel 11 seems so prophetically detailed is simply because all the events it predicts had already happened. Outcomes were already known and lives lived to historize into prophecy. (Daniel was a product of the Second Century BCE and not the Fifth.) The reasons that empires could be prophesied to come is because they had already come and gone.

When you get into Daniel 12, it all gets rather vague again about the real future and Daniel is simply told to shut it down. The reason?  We don't actually know what will happen as it has not yet happened.

Today, I am more inclined to see OT prophets as being fascinating for their schizophrenia (Ezekiel and Amos along with any who noted "And the Lord said unto me), depression (Jeremiah) and others who heard the voice of God in their heads when no one else did. If Paul's visions were real, to Paul, they take on the symptoms of temporal lobe epilepsy. (Voices, bright lights and often with religious content). These now understood mental issues would not have been understood and assigned divine gift status back in the day.

I recall visiting a mentally ill member in the hospital where she calmly said "I know you don't understand this, but Mr Diehl, you are an angel unawares".  Well yeah! LOL.  Mania and bi polar issues can do that to you.

"Someone once asked what's the difference between a Bible Prophet or Christian fundamentalist and a paranoid schizophrenic? Well, one hears voices in their head, has a heightened moral code, is judgmental yet can be very deceptive and manipulative, has delusions of being on a mission from God, sees things that no one else present sees or hears , sees lights in his head, is the center of the universe and has special knowledge that must be kept secret until the right time an then can only be understood as explained by the one. The other, of course, is a paranoid schizophrenic."

Prophets, Apostles, and Mental Illness

Jesus is said to have prophesied his coming "soon", "shortly" and "quickly", and the Apostles joined in specifically telling those in the NT Church to be ready, not marry and if you had a wife, act as if you didn't, whatever that meant. The Apostle Paul, not unlike all Church leaders today who build their churches on the fear of imminent prophetic fulfilments, spent his whole ministry pre-dicting "we shall not all die...", until he did of course. That was our collective experience with WCG.  "Just ahead", "Three to five years, 10 at the outside, 15 max" was just more prophetic fiction mean to motivate, perhaps for less than honorable reasons.

Dave Pack, the greatest fool ever produced by the WCG is addicted to making an ass out himself prophetically. He is never right and he never will be because the whole concept of prophetic abilities is simply wrong. No one can pre-dict the future in any theological sense.

While Dave claims...

DCP – Like No One Else

“I’ve been studying God’s word for almost 50 years. And I’ve studied prophecy, I know
this, like no man who’s ever lived. And I’m gonna tell you things over the next several weeks that are so awesome, so mind-bending, even before today.”

“I know literally, literally everything that happens from the time Christ drops outta
that cloud ’til this things rolls into the box. I’ve got the whole picture ’til there’s no more
earth. So, I know what God is gonna do and you know what God’s gonna do.”

and...

“I’m gonna to reveal a great prophecy is ending. A great prophecy no one ever saw
in the Bible is ending right now, and you know nothing of it, and the church didn’t, and
every historian and theologian who’s ever lived never knew anything about it.”

...he will always be a fake and badly mistaken prophetic fool.

Now, I can probably predict the loss of the war by Ukraine and the "chosen people" making themselves the most accursed people on the planet, but that's not based on anything any Holy Spirit had to "inculcate" my mind with. That just seems to be common sense at play.

Both the Gospel Jesus and the Apostle Paul, as well as others, real or imagined authors of the NT were wrong. When Jesus is said to have said, "This generation shall not pass until all these things be fulfilled" it does not mean and never did mean, "this generation to whom these things happen to". That's the apologetic since it did not happen then. Jesus meant it for none others than for those to whom he was speaking.  Jesus was wrong. The beat went on...

Bob Thiel is big on prophetically awful weather because "God is trying to get our attention."  Rubbish...  Weather is just weather and we know better, or should. Unless, of course, God is a low pressure system in disguise. Besides, what's with God having to "try".  Lame.

Our first hint of the fallacy of prophetic skills is realizing that...

  • Fortune-Teller
  • Seer
  • Prophet
  • Augur
  • Cassandra
  • Crystal Gazer
  • Doomsayer
  • Futurist
  • Jeremiah
  • Oracle
  • Palm Reader
  • Prophesier
  • Prognosticator
  • Sibyl
  • Soothsayer
  • Herbert Armstrong
  • Dave Pack
  • Gerald Flurry
  • Bob Thiel
...have not yet won the lottery. It's not unlike our not finding faith healers working for hospitals. They lose their magic powers outside of church.

Whoever said it was spot on...

The future isn't what it used to be. We can predict everything, except the future. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

And prophecy can never really come alive because

"Since no one knows the future, who can tell someone else what is to come?"

"For he does not know what will happen; So who can tell him when it will occur?"

"If no one knows what will happen, who can tell him when it will happen?"

The Great African Con Game: The Bamboozling Of Dr. Bob Thiel

It is a well-known fact that Dr. Bob Thiel (the fake prophet) is in panic mode since it was reported on Banned by HWA that his Feast in Malawi was an EPIC con job. Insider information from a top CCOG leader tells all about Evans Ocheing, Dr. Bob's fake evangelist and High WITCHDOCTOR, the Servant of Satana.

Dr. Bob sent Evans on a cleanup mission to Malawi to find out why Radson and Sosten's Feast sites were empty and also to sort out the mess of confusion about why there are two leaders in Malawi. Shouldn't it be Sosten L. the disgraceful, adulterous, money-skimming S.O.B. that now has thousands with him? Or, is it the mini-minion Radson Molowzoa, the WITCHDOCTOR's servant and whoring bang machine? Only time will tell!!!!!

Dr. Bob had better hurry up and put someone who is actually qualified to be in charge. Bob sent Evan's boy on a mission to prove the CCOG has 4,000 members in Malawi. The big African WITCHDOCTOR couldn't produce those numbers for Dr. BOB, so, Evans does what Evans does best - Bribe people to show up for photos and make it look like CCOG has something on the ground

Reports are also coming in from a top CCOG leader that Sosten L. was ordained as a Deacon. The ordination should have been for the tile of Deacon Woman Bang Machine, since that is what he does best!

This truly is the most pathetic-looking ordination certificate I have ever seen!
Get rid of that stupid picture and make a real logo.
It looks dumb and childish. Not professional at all!

Evans and Dr. Bob have to go slow and figure out a way to get Sosten in charge, as Sosten claims thousands of CCOG members are here. Dr. Bob is excited for those very high numbers, Ha Ha!
Yes, we all know that it is the Fastest Growing COG in the history of the world!

There are reports coming in of a top Hope of Israel minister being bribed and threatened to lie about Forster Abraham and Terry Nelson and to lie and say Hope of Israel Worldwide Church Of God only had 350 attending their Feast site when they had over 1000 attendees in Mulange.

We all know that Dr Bob can't handle the truth. We also know how Africa works: Bribe, Bribe, Bribe, and more Bribes. He has to keep those few Caucasian CCOG tithe payers happy and brain-dead.

These pictures are of Evans bribed villagers told to show up for photos with the great African WITCHDOCTOR and his servant Radson Molowzoa, the mini-minion bang machine.

Paleo-Indians and the Bible: Armstrongism in Contention with Anthropology

Paleo-Indian Hunting Camp (Fair Use)

Paleo-Indians and the Bible

Armstrongism in Contention with Anthropology

By Scout

Back a couple of decades ago, my wife and I were eating in a restaurant with another couple. He was a Deacon in the WCG. It was after Sabbath Services and all seemed cordial and pleasant. But then something happened that made me feel as if I had stepped into the surreal. We were talking about the fact that there were some nearby Indian Reservations. He said that the Indians did not belong here.  She said that God said to “wipe ‘em out.” This was dreadful not because I had never heard it in the WCG before but because I had not heard it in a long time. It was as if they really did not understand the consequences of what they were advocating – the terror, the screams, the slaughter, blood on the ground, men, women and children dying. I was taken aback. I recall hearing such statements when I first came into the WCG. A prominent professional man in Spokesman Club told a small group of men in conversation that “People feel sorry about how Native Americans were treated but they’re the Canaanites!” The Deacon and his wife had no trouble asserting the needed genocide because they were reciting what they thought was orthodox WCG belief.

The point of this short essay is that the informal doctrine of the extermination of Native Americans held by the WCG is invalid.

The WCG Indian Policy

I never ever heard the WCG pulpit advocate the extermination of Native Americans.  I heard it many times from the pews.  The position of the pulpit was much more subtle than making a blatant statement that advocated genocide.  All the pulpit really needed to do was to establish that Native Americans were Canaanites and everyone would get the picture.  And they did this. The Torah was quite specific about what should happen to Canaanites – they were destined to become slaves and those who lived in the Promised Land (including North America) should be exterminated.  So, this was a policy never spoken from the pulpit but it was also never denied by the pulpit even though it was a view held explicitly by many in the pews.  Ron Dart was the only minister I ever heard stand in opposition to this viewpoint on genocide before a congregation.  Otherwise, it seemed to be agreement by silence.

And, of course, the Torah was written on the heart of all who believed including the instructions to exterminate the Canaanites, according to Armstrongism.  But genocide could be eschewed according to Rod Meredith because the Ministry of Death had been abrogated in the New Testament.  This view, actually without exegetical validity, avoided mandatory bloodshed but it left Native Americans in a dismal should-have-been-killed state.

Who are the Native Americans?

About a decade ago, a genetic study of Northern Europeans was done and the results were puzzling. There was a genetic connection between Europeans and Native Americans.  Archaeogenetics further revealed that both Europeans and Native Americans were descended from a group of people called Ancient North Eurasians.  Native Americans are about 30 percent Ancient North Eurasian and about 70 percent Ancient East Asian.  The important point to notice is that none of the Native American ancestry came from the Near East or North Africa where the ancient Canaanites lived.  Native Americans are Eurasians.

Who are the Canaanites?

In this context, it is important to define the Canaanites.  It is because Native Americans were thought to be Canaanites and lived in a land that properly belonged to “Israel” that the WCG considered them to be candidates for extermination by the righteous.  Spencer Wells, a famous geneticist, worked on a National Geographic project that identified the Canaanites.  He discovered that the ancient Canaanites, the Phoenicians and the modern-day Lebanese were genetically continuous.  I am wondering if current Armstrongist denominations have ever advocated the extermination of the Lebanese.   I just heard today that Israel and Hezbollah have made a truce.  Will Armstrongists wave a copy of the Torah and warn Israel that it should not make peace with the Lebanese as the Torah states (Exodus 34:12)?  It makes you wonder why HWA never brought this important end-time message to Teddy Kollek.

Summary Argument

Armstrongists were always happy to keep Thanksgiving.  But I would imagine the typical imagery of Thanksgiving, with Indians and Pilgrims in cordial festivity, might cause Armstrongists to cringe.  Israelites and Canaanites in friendship – an unnatural condition.  This is not a valid view because Native Americans are not Canaanites.  Native Americans came to North America from Siberia maybe around 20,000 years ago – long before Canaan even existed in Palestine.   The date is revised as more discoveries are made.  But the larger question is should any racial group of people be targeted for debasement because of something that happened in the Bible?  Some in the WCG deplored Native Americans.  Is it now time for them to deplore the Lebanese instead?  Should Christians ever relegate anyone to a deplorable state based on ancient Biblical events?

LCG Facing Problems?

There is a private Facebook group that has the following post up:

Lots of exLCG members responded that they still have friends and parents trapped in it and wish they would wake up and leave.

Another person added this:

found out it was problems with people and not being kid-friendly

Another added:

As a former LCG member, I’d love to know! A little schadenfreude is appropriate here.

Some will be quick to say LCG is alive and healthy and there are no issues, but Doug Winnail is quick to remind them that God is in charge. While geared towards world events, it also applies to current church issues. Trouble is brewing under the surface:

God Is in Charge: Today, many assume that there is no God and that human beings and human governments must therefore determine their own future. However, the Bible reveals that God does exist and that He alone determines the future of people and nations. The book of Job records that God “makes nations great, and destroys them” (Job 12:23). The prophet Daniel wrote that God “removes kings and raises up kings” (Daniel 2:21) and that “the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses” (Daniel 4:2532). The Scriptures reveal that nations and individuals will reap what they sow—those who obey God will be blessed, and those who reject God, ignoring His commandments, will be cursed (Leviticus 26; Deuteronomy 28; Jeremiah 2). We need to remember these valuable instructions as we watch world events in the days ahead.

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Douglas S. Winnail

Crackpot Prophet: I Am A Veteran, So Do Not Call Me A Chicken Hawk!

This has been sitting in drafts for a while:

It's another sunny day in California, and our resident crackpot is on another of his self-righteous piss-fests. This time, it is about Veterans Day. It just frosts his delicate self-righteous little butt that some in COGland are not the kind of pacifists he thinks they should be. But first, the world's GREATEST prophet and true church leader to ever exist in human history wants you to know that he served in the military for 4 years before he was "converted." That's so funny!

November 11th is called Veteran’s Day in the USA. It is a day to remember those who served in the military.

For what it’s worth, I happen to be a veteran myself, as I served four years in the US military.

The historical position of the true Church of God is that Christians do not become part of the military, and if they are in for some reason, that they “do violence to no man” (Luke 3:14, KJV).

In my own case, perhaps I should mention that I was NOT raised in a Church of God (COG) family, and entered the military before being baptized by a Worldwide Church of God (WCG) minister.

Since the break-up of the old WCG decades ago some relatively few, affiliated with the COGs, publicly changed and have improperly taught that it is acceptable for true Christians to be part of the military and kill others.

He then has to add the following, proving once again what a delicate little man he is and how he gets so easily upset. He easily gets his wholistic knickers in a really big knot when COG folk do not adhere to the pacifist stance that the elite chicken hawks in the church do.

Furthermore, some of these few have seemed to wish to poke fun at those of us who hold to the original Christian teachings on this matter.

He then proceeds to try and eviscerate Wes White, from the Ronald Dart Evangelistic Association for his stance on military service from a story that was published in the Journal in 2017. BIG SANDY, Texas--I was jogging past the home of my friend Moore Wright Thnu yesterday when I heard loud screaming coming from his living room. I immediately ran to the door and rang the bell.

When Moore opened the door he was red-faced with rage. Our conversation went like this:

Wes: Moore, what in the world is the matter in there? Is everything all right?

Moore: Did you hear what he called me?

Wes: Who?

Moore: Him! Look at the TV.

I looked at the image being transmitted by the Fox News Network.

Wes: That looks like the former governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura.

Moore: That's right. The unpatriotic rat.

Wes: Unpatriotic? Wasn't Ventura a decorated war hero during the Vietnam War?

Moore: Well, yes, but that's not the point.

Wes: Didn't he get a lot of medals like the Silver Star, Navy Cross and Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Navy Seals?

Moore: Forget that part. I'm turning this off. I can't stand it anymore.

Wes: What is it you can't stand?

Moore: He called me a chicken hawk.

Wes: A chicken hawk? Why would he call you a chicken hawk?

Moore: A chicken hawk is a guy who had a chance to join the military and serve in combat but didn't. And, now that the guy is too old to serve, he's in favor of war and sending young men off to fight.

Wes: And you think he's calling you a chicken hawk?

Moore: Of course he is. He says I was chicken when I could have helped out during the Vietnam War, but now I'm a hawk when it comes to the war in Iraq.

Wes: Oh, I get it now. This is interesting. I know you have been vocal in promoting the war in Iraq, but I don't know anything about your personal history in the late '60s and early '70s. Did you serve in the military during those years?

Moore began stammering.

Moore: I was in the church at that time. We weren't allowed to join the army.

Wes: Really? I thought it was okay for you to enlist as a conscientious objector--a CO--and serve as a medic or in some other noncombat capacity. Did you consider that option back then?

Moore: I don't know if I want to discuss this. If you must know, Mr. Nosy, I was in the employ of the church back then.

Wes: I didn't know that. So did you agree with the church's teaching on military service back then?

Moore: Not really. But I went along with it so I could keep my job in the church.

Wes: Are you saying that, when you filed papers with Selective Service saying you didn't believe in carnal warfare, you didn't mean it?

Moore: Now see here, Wes. I didn't want to get disfellowshipped. Besides, Ann Coulter wasn't writing and speaking back then. I didn't have access to her profound insights back in those days.

Wes: Well, please help me understand all this. Would you serve in the military today if you weren't past the maximum age of enlistment?

Moore: Absolutely!

Wes: Would you say that young men today should sign up to help the war effort?

Moore: That's correct!

Wes: But you have three sons of ideal military age. Have you encouraged them to enlist?

Moore started stammering again.

Moore: What? Of course not! Why would I encourage my boys to join? You know that many Sabbath-keeping Churches of God teach against military service.

Wes: But this is not your belief. And your sons don't even attend church or keep the Sabbath. Why wouldn't you want them to enlist?

Moore: I just don't. Wait a minute. You're trying to trick me. You're trying to get me to admit that I don't mind Americans dying in war but I just don't want it to be me or my sons doing the dying.

Wes: Is this true?

Moore: Quit calling me a hypocrite. You're as bad as that Jesse Ventura. You're accusing me of being a chicken hawk. You need to just leave my house right now.

As I walked down the front-porch steps, the door slammed behind me. Halfway down the block I could hear Moore's TV was back on and he was screaming at Jesse Ventura.

Chicken-hawking has been a way of life for many in COG leadership positions. They want the military to be strong and defend them, but they themselves are too lazy and self-righteous to ever take a stand. They wax glorious on the military intervening in world events ever since 9-11, and yet they are too weak to ever step up to the plate and defend their country. These are the types of people who would have turned their neighbors as people did in WWII, ratting out the Jews.
