Want to decode cult propaganda in real time? We’re cracking open Herbert W. Armstrong’s very first Plain Truth magazine (Feb 1934) to show how the founder of the Worldwide Church of God weaponized fear, racism, and end-times hype to build a religious empire.
What you’ll learn in this episode:
• Why the headline “Is a WORLD DICTATOR About to Appear?” primed readers for panic
• How Armstrong named Stalin, Mussolini, and Roosevelt—yet omitted Hitler—to control the narrative
• The bogus Tanaka Memorial and early anti-Japanese xenophobia
• Proven cult tactics: isolation, apocalyptic urgency, selective scripture, and “secret knowledge”
Whether you’re researching high-control groups, leaving the WCG/COG community, or just fascinated by 1930s propaganda, this deep-dive exposes the timeless playbook still used by modern fear-based movements.

This material is trash.
I just listened to a little of this. I get the picture. I think it is important to connect this with G.G. Rupert in order to give it historical perspective.
Super accurate. Based on the "American racism of the "yellow scare".... (originally vs Chinese).... HWA accurately predicted Pearl Harbor and especially the Japanese submarine atack on California in 1934
Also in 1940 PT he wrote about the maps he had of the coming German attack on Ukraine a couple of years later.
He kept talking anout "bad germans" at a time the average American would not even contemplate moving out of State.... Let alone fight in Europe.
Of course this german scare was based on ww1 plans to stir mexuco as ALL the southern states texas and california were in total panick for german led attack on american soil.
Largely forgottrn except in true academic circles.
What a Vision excellent...

Politically too Left, and a bit counterproductive to their cause by being so categorically anti-religious. I’ve seen other works by these girls beyond the one featured on this blog a while back, and corresponded with them in the comments. They’re well-meaning, but as is typical for the Armstrongism culture, they ditch-jumped, going from one extreme to the other. A shame, really.
They're not "yellow pencils" and they are doing their thing, exorcising the demons and diffusing the time bombs which are left behind in all who ever imbibed of the HWAcaca. They strike a tone which can be effective in reaching certain types of people. I like that women are reaching out, as they were so suppressed in the WCG and splinter groups.
Also, I believe many of us probably let the pendulum slip a little too far to the left for a while as we attempted to regain our equillibrium. You almost have to, considering what we all went through.

Whatever they went through personally way back when they got out, it makes the material useless in challenging Armstrongism. They don’t have to lay out everything they feel.
I’m just being tactical.
Personally, I enjoy LaNisa's webcasts much more, but then again, LaNisa is informed by a much more professional background.

There are multiple reasons why
Don’t know who that is.
Okay, found her. Save me the trouble, and just tell me if she gets substantive. That is, substantive beyond racial matters.
Indeed Armstrong was an accurate forecaster revealing prophetic truths no one else understood
Heh Heh! Racial matters are substantive, Lee!
