It has always been a long held belief in Armstrongism that babies start being influenced by Satan the second they take their first breath.  They learn greed and are selfish.  They take and never give. They manipulate and challenge. Armstrongism continues to think this to this day that all babies are demon possessed.

So “sin” is actions and deeds contrary to God’s law. We must understand that God’s law is “spiritual”, which is to say that it transcends the normal way the material mind functions. When a child is born into this fallen world he begins to “hear” the broadcasts which come from Satan. Like a radio station the fallen nature of Satan is broadcasted throughout this planet and all people [accept true Christians] are tuned into this channel. The child hears this broadcast like a loud horn because the child sees the way that fallen adults act; the child hears the corruption which comes from the mouths of all people around him. The child begins to mimic the thoughts and actions of corrupt mankind.

Apparently children of Church of God members are innocent and pure compared to the children of the pagan filth out in the world.  We all know that to be a fact!  Especially those that have been around evangelist and ministers kids!

Philadelphia Church of God: Sandy Hook Killings and the Two Trees

Just when you though your ears never had to hear the words, "the two trees" again, along comes the Philadelphia Church of God to explain away the Sandy Hook murders with the "two trees" of Herbert Armstrong's blaring fame.

I can't tell you how many years we had to sit there and listen to HWA yell and pound the podium about the two trees.  Week after week, month after month.  No Jesus preached, but there was enough info on the two trees that you could become a dendrologist.

Never to let a tragedy to go to waste, Gerald Flurry's cult jumps into the arena hyperventilating that they have the "truth" of the matter.

The Sandy Hook Tragedy - A Lesson About The Two Trees

The article starts out:

In December, the funerals of 20 young children took place in Newtown, Conn. Many seek closure to the tragedy, but our nation continues to be mired in questions about the cause of the Sandy Hook shooting. How could this massacre happen? Gun laws, mental health care, and our violent culture are all topics being bantered about as problems and solutions to what happened in Newtown.

Then the Flurry cult claims to have the answer to the reason.  Even though it is asked as a question, here is specifically why it happened according to PCG:

Could the monstrous actions of a deranged 20-year-old have anything to do with his family environment? How strong was Adam Lanza’s relationship with his father? What impact did the fracturing relationship and divorce of his father and mother have?

No one answers these questions. Even the experts don’t know the cause. Why can’t we find the answers to keep our marriages and families united? Why don’t we know how to raise happy, caring, responsible children? How have we produced children who murder women and six-year-olds en masse?

PCG states above the reasons it happened because only THEY know the reasons.  The article goes on to worship Gerald Flurry's awesome knowledge:

In a timely article about the two trees in Genesis, Gerald Flurry shows us why we suffer such troubles today: “Our knowledge is not solving our problems. In fact, as our knowledge increases, so do our problems. Clearly, something is missing in our knowledge. The reason we cannot gain ground on these civilization-destroying troubles is that we fail to confront their real cause. That cause is rooted in the very foundation of our civilization—a foundation well-documented in history.”

 The knowledge of the two trees teach you this, according to Flurry and his cult:

If you wonder which choice Adam and Eve made, just look at what has happened. Their firstborn son had no access to guns or violent entertainment. He didn’t need mental healthcare. Genesis 4:6-8 show what a strong influence the tree of the knowledge of good and evil had on the world’s first son. Even though the Creator Himself tried to work with Cain, he became a murderer and a liar. He followed the same way of life as his parents—and mankind has done the same ever since.

The choice of our first parents has influenced every aspect of society. It affects our families and children most of all, the basis of society. We witness the suffering daily. Losing 20 children is heartrending, but think about the millions of unborn children who lose their lives each year through abortion, the millions of children growing up in broken homes, the neglect, the lack of proper education, instruction and love that would help our children develop stable, responsible and fulfilling lives. It is a vicious cycle—and, as God warned Adam and Eve, it ends in death.

Only those who understand the "two trees" and only then a "select few" have any hope.  Of course if you are part of the PCG you salvation is assured since it is the ONLY true church of God left on the face of the earth.  Sorry Bob Thiel but you are toast too!

The tree of life is available to the select few whom God works with today. Individually, those whom He calls, can make the right choice now. God shares with them His Holy Spirit and the understanding and power needed to change lives. But soon the tree of life will be available for everyone!

Since Flurry and his cult do know know Jesus Christ or the new covenant they do not realize that the "tree of life" has already been made manifest.  All of this disgusting blabbering by PCG to use a national tragedy as a chance to promote corrupt man made teachings  truly is disgusting.

Bob Thiel: Is He Really Following In The Footsteps of Polycarp?

Poor Bob Thiel.  He is in such a conundrum right now. He is talking today about the apostolic secession of the leadership of the Church of God and how the men in church through the centuries were ordained and carried on with the "truth."  It seems to be really important to prophet Thiel that this link back to the apostles is noted. The reason being is that prophet Thiel claims he is now the only one carrying the mantle for the 1st century Christianity he claims is valid.

He starts his daily missal stating that he had to cease affiliation with the Living Church of God, of which, he will not name.  How stupid is that?

As most readers now know, it became necessary for me to cease my affiliation with a group based out of North Carolina and form the Continuing Church of God.

 He then tries to defend the silly name he called his personality cult.

So, since the word “continuing” is part of the title, the question to be briefly addressed today is:  Continue what?

First, it needs to be understood that according to Jesus, the church itself would continue and the gates of Hades (death) would not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18).

The prophet uses Hebrews as the scriptural justification for the name of his personality cult:

Let us look at what Jesus and the Apostle Paul taught on this matter:

22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes (Matthew 10:22-23).

14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come (Hebrews 13:14).

Since Christians have no continuing city, it is the Church of God, not some city such as Rome or Alexandria that was supposed to continue to lead Christ’s church.

Prophet Thiel traces the lineage of his new personality cult down through the ages to Polycarp.  The main problem with this is that false prophet Thiel is NOT ordained and cannot be the legitimate heir to the legacy of Polycarp.

Notice that Irenaeus is claiming that Polycarp was appointed bishop (pastor/overseer) of the Church in Smyrna by the apostles in Asia (which would most likely have been John and Philip and perhaps some others) and that Polycarp continued the faith and practices of the original apostles. Notice that Irenaeus is claiming that there was a list of men who have succeeded Polycarp until the late 2nd century and that they held to the teaching of the apostles. Thus the only universally accepted apostle to “bishop” transfer of leadership for the 1st and 2nd centuries that continued until at least the end of the 2nd century was through Polycarp of Smyrna 

Prophet Thiel claims his small personality cults doctrines are exactly like Polycarp's in order to give his little group legitimacy:

So, Polycarp realized that the true church was called the Church of God and that he placed a high priority on the scriptures and the doctrines in them, including the commandments and love.

This is what we in the Continuing Church of God also are striving to do.

Now, here are some of the beliefs that Polycarp and others in the early Church of God held to that we in the Continuing Church of God also hold to. (which I am not listing)

 Prophet Thiel's arrogance continues to grow stronger.  He and his small personality cult are now the only ones that best represent the true remnant.

We in the Continuing Church of God are striving to best represent the most faithful remnant  of the original Church of God that began on Pentecost in Acts 2 (c. 31 A.D.) and we believe and teach the doctrines of the original apostolic and faithful post-apostolic Church of God, and in particular, the Philadelphia-era of the Church of God.

There is nothing original, apostolic or Christan about false prophet Thiel's personality cult.  A personality cult is exactly all his group is.  The few people that have agreed to follow him are obviously weak in their faith, so much so, that they still need a "strong figure" tell them what to believe.  These people have been through at least 3 splinterings to reach Thiel's group (which makes 4).  Worldwide to Global, then Global to Living, then Living to Continuing.  Whats going to happen in 4-5 years when someone stronger than Thiel comes along and discredits hm?  Will group 5 then start?  Then how long till splinter group 6?  Joining the Church of God 7th Day makes far better sense than joining up in another impotent little personality cult.
