Public More Concerned About College Demolitions Than The WCG Ever Was

It is pretty sad that the public cares more about our buildings and grounds than the Old WCG ever did.  It was quit obvious that the church was eager to get away from the property and divorce it's self from it.  When the sale process was going on many WCG members wondered why the church did not hold the title to the land but lease it out.  It would have had a perpetual income coming in from property leases.  It was sold for pennies on the dollar and here we are today.

Ambassador College's Modern Honeycomb Has Been Destroyed

And another underrated but beautiful mid-century building bites the dust: we've heard from a few places (including these photos) that the honeycombed Fine Arts Building at Pasadena's Ambassador College has been demolished. The Ambassador was run by the Worldwide Church of God from 1947 through 1990; the Fine Arts Building was designed by Peter J. Holdstock and built in 1966 (it matches the adjacent Science Hall). (The campus was used pretty mouthwateringly in Tom Ford's mid-century porn film A Single Man). In the mid-aughts, there were big plans to redevelop the whole campus, but they all sort of petered out in the recession; in 2010, OC developer City Ventures picked up part of the project and revived plans to build condos and senior housing. Sarah Gilbert of the LA Conservancy's Modern Committee tells us via email that the project includes demolition of three buildings--the Fine Arts, Science, and the Hall of Administration (also by Holdstock). ModCom asked Pasadena to reconsider the demolitions when it extended approvals in January 2012, but no dice. Goodbye Fine Arts, we'll miss you.

LCG Lets Dave Pack Know He Is A Liar

The Living Church of God made sure to get a dig in a Dave Pack in their latest letter.  Dave has constantly belittled the LCG over the years.  Dave thinks they are weak impotent little pussy's when it comes to the gospel message.  Even though Rod is the biggest he-man ever, Dave surpasses him as the epitome of masculinity.  Dave is the best at everything, including spreading the thing he calls a gospel.

LCG writes:

Greetings from Charlotte,
In spite of rumors that critics like to spread, the Work of God continues to grow. In the last two weekends, more than 300 visitors attended Tomorrow’s World Presentations in Brooklyn, New York; Springfield, Missouri; and Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama (see write-ups below). The print run for the next issue of Tomorrow’s World magazine will be more than 450,000 and our Internet and social media efforts are growing and reaching many thousands of people. Here in Charlotte, Mr. Meredith has completed a co-worker letter that was mailed this week to almost 12,000 individuals. Plans are coming together for summer camps and for the Fall Festival. Last weekend I was able to conduct a Regional Conference in Joplin, Missouri for nearly 100 elders and leaders in that part of the country. Please continue to ask for God’s blessing and guidance on His Work and for those who are seeking His intervention on their behalf.—DSW

I think it is funny how the COG's always have to throw around numbers in order to impress people.  Dave is doing it big time and has come off looking like a complete fool.  LCG continues to do it, even as their church HQ is fraught with infighting.  "We treat each other like shit, but boy are our numbers up!  Aren't you impressed?"

Bob Thiel Announces Unheard of Shocking News For Midwest of the United States!!!!!!

Bob Thiel's god spoke to him last night revealing an earth shattering announcement that will have dramatic effects upon the middle of the United States and beyond.  This never before disclosed knowledge is sure to frighten United States unconverted sinners into repentance.  The tornadoes have not done so so far, so Thiel's god will resort to more drastic measures.

So what is this earth shattering news that the non-ordained self-appointed prophet has to share?

There will be an earthquake on the New Madrid fault line.  SHOCKING!  Have you ever heard of such a thing???????????????????

Some scientists are concerned about the earthquake risk in the Mid-West USA:
We know they happen frequently along the Earth’s tectonic plates. We also know there are no such plates in the central United States, yet that part of the country has had major earthquakes in three zones: the New Madrid fault, which on computer models looks like Harry Potter’s scar slashing across Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee; the Wabash Valley fault in Illinois and Indiana; and the East Tennessee Seismic Zone that runs into Alabama. These are not like the faults in California, which last had a major earthquake in 1994, when the magnitude 6.7 Northridge temblor killed 57 people and caused $20 billion in damages. The mid-continent faults rupture less often; New Madrid gets the shakes maybe 200 times a year, about a tenth the number in California. And earthquakes in the central United States tend to be smaller. The New Madrid fault appears to have a big rupture every 300 years or so.
At the same time, Patterson and others concede it is difficult to explain why the faults in the central United States are active at all.

Of course Thiel has to drag his angry pissed off god into the mix.

Jesus warned about a time earthquakes and troubles:
8 … And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be…troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)
We may be at this prophetic point as all the earthquakes and other problems that have happened in the past couple of years could be considered as “troubles.”

But don't worry too much for the next few years.  The non-ordained self-appointed false prophet says it probably won't happen until 2019.

Notice that the above earthquake is so big that the cities of the nations will fall. Mountains will be leveled and islands “fled away”  This seems to be the biggest earthquake that will ever hit the planet with humans on it.

It will be bigger than what the usual “experts” have believed was possible. It will change the planet and humble parts of humanity.

It should be noted since that the apparently biggest of all earthquakes seems to take place near the end of the Day of the Lord, it probably cannot happen prior to 2019 (for more on why as well as dates, please see the articles Can the Great Tribulation Begin in 2013, 2014, or 2015? and Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?).
Those of us in California are not off the hook either.  The big one will soon hit and wipe out all the illegal aliens and sinners so that Thiel can live in a sin free land.

I believe that a megaquake, which locally tends to be called “the big one,” will at some point in time hit California. And by that, I specifically mean one that is quite large and one that would be even more devastating than the Northridge quake of 1994.
Perhaps the earthquake warnings and weather problems can serve as another wake-up call to people everywhere that the world can change very quickly and that the time to repent is now:
30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 17:30-31)
There are troubles and repentance is needed.

Prophet Thiel Uses Unconverted Christians To Support His Views When Convenient

Bob Thiel, the non-ordained self-appointed false prophet today is using unconverted so-called Christians to support his requirement for tithing in his mini personality cult.

The non-ordained false prophet regularly mocks Christians outside Armstrongism as unconverted or  "so-called" Christians.  Over all he sees them all as ignorant buffoons, unless of course one of them says something that supports his own beliefs.

Today, he is trumpeting out a Presbyterian minister because the guy claims tithing is still mandatory.  Despite tens of thousands of articles, books, and videos debunking tithing as a new covenant requirement, Thiel still can't get this head out of the sand.  Thiel's little personality cult will not be able to survive with offerings sent in according to what people want to give instead of what he requires.

Thiel is unable to rely on his god to bring his ministry to fruition.  He cannot see past the money anymore than Dave Pack can.  Both are obsessed with getting as much as they can.

John Ortberg is pastor of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, California.  A reader somewhat recently sent me an article he wrote on tithing.  Here are some excerpts:

What if tithing is actually one of God’s great gifts to us? What if tithing isn’t opposed to grace, but is actually a vehicle of it?…

There were three “tithes” collected from Israel—one to support priests and Levites (Num. 18:21); another for a sacred celebration (Deut. 14:23); and a third—collected only once every three years—to support the poor, orphans, and widows (Deut. 14:28-2926:12-13). So the actual income percentage given was closer to 23 than 10…

Some people argue that since tithing is found in the Old Testament we can discard the whole concept. Jesus, however, was quite clear that he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. In the early church, no one’s attitude was “Thank goodness grace takes us out from under the Law—now we don’t have to tithe anymore! We can give far less than 10 percent!” The early church was so overwhelmed by God’s grace and generosity, it went far beyond the tithe.   http://www.christianitytoday.com/le/2013/spring/tithing-law-or-grace.html

I plan to do a sermon on tithing in the future and it was interesting to see this Presbyterian minister’s perspective.
