Living Church of God Suspends Member Telling Him That LCG HQ Leaders Are More Intelligent Than He Is

Well it’s official. I received a letter, e-mail and text from my congregational Pastor on Friday, March 29th, 2015 informing me that I’ve been “suspended” from attending Sabbath services with the Living Church of God because I believe that the ordained ministers of the Living Church of God believe, practice and teach as doctrines some ideas that are clearly the commandments and traditions of men (Mark 7:6-9 ESV) or as the letter states, “You have made it obvious in your writings to Charlotte that you consider us to be following a false prophet and heretic, Mr. Armstrong, who was inspired to restore most all of our fundamental doctrines. Accordingly you write that we, ministers who preach and teach these inspired doctrines, are preaching prophetic heresy. You also accuse us of not preaching the broadly accepted Nicene family’s trinity fable. You are therefore being suspended from attendance with a church that you feel is heretical.”

Never mind that the Pastor who wrote the letter would consistently avoid answering questions and provide any evidence at all that would support the claims that he made against information that I shared with the LCG ministry, and would use all sorts of fallacious argument tactics to try to prove that LCG’s claims and ideas were correct and my view points were false.

Types of fallacious argument tactics used:

Attacking an Individuals Age: You’ve only been alive for “X amount” of years and you think you know better than those who have been alive longer than you and have lived this way of life for “Y amount” of years or more?

Attacking Years of Experience: Our organization has been around for “X amount” of years and you think that in your “Y amount” of years as a member of this church organization that you know more?

Position of Authority:If you are in disagreement with the Ordained Church Leaders of this church organization, then you are in disagreement with God!

It was clear that things had to go this pastors way or the highway. He has also done this to others in our congregation.

Is Rod Meredith going to doubly disfellowship and mark the Scarborough's?

From a  reader:

I heard that Meredith is so pissed off about this letter that he is going to mark them AGAIN next Sabbath. How funny! How many times can he do the same thing before he realizes it makes him look like an even bigger idiot?!

Meredith, "How dare you tell your side of things? I double super mark you! When I'm a spirit being I will zap you with a bolt of lightening!"

The behavior of McNair and Meredith is frightfully demonic.

I hope the light being shinned on the ungodly actions of LCG leadership will wake people up.

Meredith want them to think that he has the power but it is the members who have all the power. If they stand up against this type of blatant abuse instead of doing nothing maybe things could change.

I believe everything in this letter. Not because I know the victims but because I know how Meredith has ALWAYS operated and because of his worldwide reputation as a big fat LIAR.

My heart goes out to these people. I can't imagine writing "dozens of letters" and wanting to be with the people you perceive to be your "family and friends" but being left out in the cold "to die". I'm sure that they will look back on this in a year and be glad they are no longer subject to this type of unchristian rule.

Rod McNair Disfellowships LCG Member For Taking In And Caring For A Homeless LCG Member

The various Churches of God have always claimed that they are practicing first century Christianity.  According to scripture, that first century Christianity was about love for each other and for those around them.  It had nothing to do with the "law" but all about grace.

Then Herbert Armstrong came on the scene claiming to have restored that first century Christianity because his god had been so weak and impotent it had been lost for 1,900 years.  (Those nasty Catholics and pagans were far more powerful.) That restored Christianity soon soured and the COG became abusive. For decades story after story emerged on how awful the church was in how it treated its members.  A large percentage of that mistreatment came directly at the instructions of Rod Meredith.

In the 1990's when all of the changes were coming down the pipeline the church had the opportunity to really step out and embrace grace and love and do the right thing.  The Worldwide Church of God went on a purge kicking out members, disfellowshiping and marking them.  Employees were fired or laid off and told that the church had no responsibility to take care for them. 

Scores of groups broke off to start their own churches where they too had the opportunity to start anew.  Many claimed that was exactly what they were going to do.  The problems of the past would be wiped away and true love and mercy would abound.  Within a few months for some and a few weeks for others, that love was cast in the trash bin and the control and manipulation began with renewed vigor.

Gerald Flurry has created hell on earth in Edmond Oklahoma ripping families and marriages apart.  People have died because of his sins.  Rod Meredith formed two separate churches with each one treating its members like dirt.  Then Dave Pack came on the scene, and oh what a story that has been!  He claims to be the only one doing the work of God on earth today and is God's mightiest leader ever.  No love is ever discussed, nor is Jesus.  Instead he preaches about his god killing three other COG leaders as he breaks up marriages and families.  Truly that is COG love!

Love and grace have never been a hallmark of the current incarnation of the Church of God.  Previous generations maybe, but  never under the baton of Armstrongism.

Why do COG members sit there and allow this to happen to themselves and their friends?  They know it is wrong but none of them do anything.  When will any of them hold their leaders accountable?  Jim Meredith certainly will not bring in a new era of enlightenment for the Living Church of God.  Neither will Rod McNair.

One person got fired and disfellowshipped because he took two of the others into his home. One had absolutely nothing, no money, no car, no home,no food, because his wife had thrown him out and everything was in her name. So he did the christian thing and took him in.

League and McNair came to him and told him he had to put them out on the street. To make them grovel and repent to them. He could not do it. It just seemed so unchristian. So they fired him and disfellowshipped him. And to make matters worse his wife was undergoing cancer treatment.

When you click on the image above you will see that Ohio and North Carolina are in the top 5 states with the most visits.  Its no coincidence that Restored Church of God is in Wadsworth, Ohio and United Church of God's HQ is in Cincinnati, Ohio and Living Church of God's HQ is in Charlotte, North Carolina.  We have become a thorn in the side of both groups because people come to us looking for information about their respective groups.  Usually information that their HQ's have tried to keep from members or when their Fearless Leader's have said or committed some offensive breach of trust with their memberships.  The Internet has become the bane of the Church of God.
