Is There a Demon Under your Christmas Tree?

Merry Christmas Worldwide Church of God Splinter Groups

Be careful WCG splinter groups, because you might be attacked by demons from under a Christmas tree, if you happen to be near.    Of course "family time" playing volleyball at Christmas time was designed to draw members of splinter groups away from the "danger" of being contaminated by Christmas and those who participate in this harmless custom.

In my whole lifetime, I have yet to see a "demon" come out of a Christmas tree and jump on a human being. I have yet to see God send down a lightening bolt out of heaven and zap people who celebrate Christmas.   I have never seen children terrorized by God for opening Christmas presents.

I have however seen WCG splinter groups, as a result of their parent church, send lightening bolts of FEAR into their members for even thinking that Christmas is anything but Satanic.   When was the last time God appeared to any WCG splinter group member and told them they are going to forfeit eternal life if they celebrate Christmas? Never of course, but the leaders will quote one verse from the Old Testament and cause their members to believe that totem poles in ancient religious beliefs are trees and that they are devil worshipers if they put up a harmless Christmas tree, which is nothing more than a custom that has no consequence with God.

Is God the Creator so lacking in confidence, so lacking in self esteem and so insecure that He is "jealous" of a tree, with lights on it and decorated for human enjoyment?   If so, then why is God not jealous of preachers who stand in pulpits and pretend that they speak for God?   Church goers may not wrap pastors and preachers in lights and bow down to them, but they do worship them in a sense and think they are God's reps on earth.  Is there any difference in thinking that your WCG splinter group head speaks for God and the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church?

None whatsoever.

Merry Christmas,

Van Robison

Why Has the UCG Council of Elders Failed to Identify Personal Behaviors that Create Obstacles in the UCG?

The United Church of God has been limping along these past few years with one debacle after another.  From a major church split to failed publicity campaigns its image is not the best in COGland.

UCG would do well to recall the minutes from it's August 13, 1998 Council of Elder's Report where it talks about how it brought in Mike Snyder to revamp its image.  Snyder has along history in the Church of God.  He worked in the WCG public relations department during the doctrinal and church changes and was instrumental in presenting the new face of the trinity believing WCG to the world at large.  Snyder is now the Vice President of a major advertising company here in the US.

Vic Kubik renewed his relationship with Snyder years ago as he was trying to improve his own image in the UCG.
“He has given me several ideas and principles to better present both myself and the church in ways where people can quickly understand and appreciate what we do and who we are,” said Mr. Kubik. “Mike showed me how I could further improve on publicly discussing the church in a way that would generate genuine interest instead of controversy or suspicion.”
Apparently Kubik failed to heed those words of advice because controversy and suspicion has plagued Kubik and the UCG for years.

Kubik states:
He stated that his presentation would not address theological issues, focus on personalities or “ancient history,” or indulge in “hand-wringing” over the past. Rather, he hoped his research, applied to our position today, could be very helpful for the Council in leading and responding to the needs of the Church. “This is a forward-looking presentation that is supposed to prompt and challenge you to develop the solutions to your communications issues.”
A thinking person would have thought that with all the stuff that went down during UCG's apostasy from the mother church that these men would have learned to communicate better with their members.  They all felt that the WCG was not communicating fully with them during that time.  These guys knew better but still did nothing, but that's another story.

Some of the things Snyder recommended that the United Church of God implement are:
The current state of affairs Mr. Snyder began by asking Council members to consider two quotes that portray a choice of perspectives. “For all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, `It might have been'” (Whittier), and “No person can lead other people except by showing them a future. A leader is a merchant of hope” (Napoleon). The first is one nobody wants to ever have to say; the second speaks to the role of church leaders in particular.

The Council, in order to improve communication and establish a strong church identity, needs to “identify organizational and personal behaviors that inadvertently create obstacles instead of opportunities, start a process of changing those identified behaviors, identify your strengths as an organization and start a process of maximizing those strengths.”
Imagine that...the UCG Council needs to improve its image!  Who knew!!!!!!  This has proven to be a rather difficult thing for these boastful arrogant men to do when it came to recognizing personal behaviors that created obstacles.  Even worse, they were supposed to CHANGE those destructive behaviors!  Imagine that!

Next Snyder told the UCG Council to STOP being so defensive when crisis arise:
He encouraged the Council to not be too defensive in dealing with crises, which will inevitably arise. Defensive modes back people into corners so that any move that is made seems to make the matter worse. He also pointed out that in all aspects of society today, crises now are complicated because of the Internet, especially in the absence of good communication. “When people don’t trust what you are saying, and don’t think they are getting the information they need, what they will do is make it up, and they will put it out in any format they need,” he warned. “What do you have to do?” he asked. “You have to take control. You are the decision-making point of this whole organization you are the leadership.”
Being"defensive' has been one of UCG's biggest failures. Instead of talking things through and actually listening to peoples concerns they react with knee-jerk fashion creating huge turmoil where none would probably had existed if they had only listened.

When people don't trust what UCG is saying....they then write all kinds of things about it.....YEP!  We sure do! We all know the track record of the UCG.

Snyder went on to tell UCG the kind of people in their organization:
Most organizations, at any given time but especially during times of change, are made up of the following three categories of people, Mr. Snyder said:
  • The “Quitters”_20 per cent of the people who are “professional complainers” and do nothing but take pot shots (every decision is wrong, no matter what it is). They have a different agenda, may actually work against organization goals, are often highly de-energized and work actively to make other people that way.
  • The “Campers”_60 per cent, people who started climbing the mountain of life and at some point they got burnt out or said `I’ve had enough adversity’ and they stop and “camp out.” They are moderately-to-neutrally energized, but are willing to be directed and follow leadership.
  • The “Climbers”_20 per cent of the people who have faith in something bigger than themselves and even though they face adversity they keep going; they never stop their entire lives despite setbacks and discouragement.
Snyder encouraged the UCG to have a goal they were working towards and to be visionary in focus:
He also urged the Council to watch for personal burn out and to be aware of the signs indicating tiredness, because that affects leadership capacity. Countering deceptive myths Next, Mr. Snyder reviewed one author’s listing of various myths that affect views of business, and identified how truly visionary leadership creates success. Visionary companies “are significantly less likely to have early success but, like the tortoise and the hare, win the long race often after a slow start.” They communicate a vision for big goals, consistently champion and live by right core values and do not change them (“When you start messing with the core values, you take away the very thing that made it successful,” he said).
In the old WCG the "goal" always was...making it into the Kingdom. Now the predominate goal of most Church of God's is amassing as much wealth as possible, building campuses, auditoriums, and trying to out do the other COG's.  UCG has been just as guilty of this as Pack, Flurry and Meredith.

Snyder then told them to stop focusing on money and to build credibility in leadership.
Another business myth he noted is that one should focus primarily on beating the competition. In reality, healthy, visionary organizations focus primarily on beating themselves they never think they’ve done good enough and are always seeking to improve their own performance. Additionally, visionary organizations make some of their best moves not by brilliant and complex strategic planning, but by experimentation, trial and error, opportunism and sometimes by accident. “Visionary organizations do not brutalize themselves with `the tyranny of OR,'” he said. Rather, “They embrace `the genius of AND'” the view that allows them to pursue “A” and “B” at the same time. He offered, for a church example, various efforts to preach the gospel both locally and centrally. Successful businesses focus on clusters of objectives, rather than making money. Income is a by-product of achieving other fundamental objectives, such as exemplary service. In the contemporary church context where there are several organizations, he noted that people are still committed to tithing, but will send their tithes to where they believe there is value. If you are focused on the right objectives, people will want to support your efforts, he said. Building credibility as the foundation of leadership “Leadership is a relationship,” Mr. Snyder said. Telling people to “do this” or “do that” is command and control. People find you much more credible if you give them ownership, energize them and we do it together. People march in step because they trust you, believe in you and you have a relationship with them.
Imagine that, the lay members given ownership and energized in the structure of the Church of God! Its hard to imagine any COG giving its members a say in what happens in the church.  Almost every single COG is ruled by a cabal of men who wield power stronger than the Pope could ever hope for. Here it is quit apparent that UCG has failed in this area immensely!

Credibility is a huge issue in the UCG, as it is in all the other COG's.  Snyder goes on to state:
“If you have no credibility, you can only govern on the basis of fear,” he said. “The higher degree of credibility you have, the more you get done, the more you attract people. Your organization becomes a magnet, as opposed to a person.” Reasons for cynicism The book Credibility lists several reasons why people become cynical in business, Mr. Snyder said, and the same principles can apply to the church. One is scandal. Organizations cannot avoid scandals, because of the human element somebody will eventually do something scandalous so you just prepare for them. However, most people want to cover them up and they just become “skeletons in the closet.” From a scandal perspective, you beat cynicism by open acknowledgment, recognition of repentance, he advised.
Bravo to Snyder for making such a statement to the UCG hierarchy.  They have a horrendous track record of covering up scandals.  From rapes, to stalkings, to child abuse and much much more its all been swept under the rug and kept from members.  I wonder how many UCG members know that the UCG paid money to cover up a stalking case in the Pacific Northwest some years ago in an attempt to brand the victim a liar?

Snyder next focused upon "betrayal." Though sadly I have a feeling that most of the men listening to this feel they are martyrs in this regard.  They were betrayed by their mother church.  They ignore the fact that they betrayed the WCG by plotting behind the scenes for months to form UCG while still on WCG payroll.  They betrayed friends and church members by causing huge divisions in the church.  Many of these martyrs only jumped ship for the steady income stream.  The list could go on and on.  Who betrayed who?  Tkach betrayed all of these martyrs?  Did they betray the WCG?

Betrayal is another big producer of cynicism. “Everybody in this room has gone through emotional disconnects in the last decade,” Mr. Snyder pointed out. “You get cynical about it when betrayed by a leader.”
People then sometimes make judgments based on cynical feelings “I’m not going to join this group because everyone’s just as bad as the one I came out of.” Disillusionment brings on skepticism. People believe in something, give it a chance, and then it fails or doesn’t work to their expectation; distrust results. Another is suspicion of power the “who’s-really-in-charge?” cynicism. From cynicism to restored faith Several dynamics can begin to restore faith. Clear accountability is critical, the type where people know you are accountable to them, even if you are their leader. That feeling instills greater faith. Giving clear messages (not hazy sayings), creating organizational enthusiasm, living personal values that are consistent with organizational values, and fostering a sense of shared “ownership” (everyone feeling like they are an important part of things) are other very important factors. Some operate by the maxim, Mr. Snyder said, of, “Do what you say you will do.” This is the minimum standard but even that might not effectively build credibility. The better standard that does build credibility is, “Do what WE say WE will do. “Evaluating the tone of the messages in UCG publications His review of all the church communications brought to light several trends, Mr. Snyder observed. He advised the Council not to be too defensive or justifying in tone, nor to dwell much on past mistakes. Being defensive means you are not solution-oriented, and such tone saps peoples’ strength, he said. “You’re not supposed to be defensive, you are supposed to be [on the] offensive, the spearhead, showing the way to go by example.” Over time, the church’s key phrases (e.g., “spirit of Indianapolis,” “a Godly community”) have become diluted, are now irrelevant to the membership and have even been used as a club over others, he said.
Only if..............  When pigs fly....unfortunately.

Snyder then tells them to stop living in the past.  This has been a huge issue with all the COG's.  They all look back at the "glory days" of WCG with fondness and longing.  Not a single one of them will EVER be able to do that. Bitterness seems to still burn mightily in so many of these men and COG's.
While we need to develop our own terminology, we should stay away from abstractions that anybody else in the world with any religious affiliation would also be comfortable using. To turn around these tendencies, he advised a three-part solution:
  • Decide on the key messages that need to be communicated. This decision is clarified by asking, “What issues are most important to the UCG?” and “How can these issues be better expressed?”
  • Be better aware of and consistently address two key issues: a lingering sense of betrayal and burnout
  • Develop a new mindset that is truly forward-looking and de-emphasizes recent history (“You’re not selling ancient history,” he said. “Have you had anyone baptized in the last year? What do they care about 1986? Are they more into first love or digging up things to find out how bad it was?”)
UCG and all the COG's can think of nothing BUT 1986 and its previous years.  Is it any wonder why UCG is not growing?  No one CARES about 1986!  Get over it already!!!!

Snyder encourages UCG to acknowledge CONFLICT in the church.  That's has been one bitter pill to swallow and they are still trying to do it!  UCG has always presented its self as the most unified COG to ever exist. while its structure crumbles down around them.
Suggestions for improving communication After analyzing one example of communication to the church (the April 2, 1998 member letter), Mr. Snyder offered several observations for making improvements. First, he confirmed that it is usually constructive to acknowledge conflict. Such acknowledgment promotes open honesty, shows that the leadership is sensitive, listening and willing to act and is congruent with the stated UCG objective of defending the faith. Conflict, he pointed out, is not always bad and within a certain context it can indicate a healthy condition. For example, total lack of conflict indicates mind-control and/or a de-energized, non-thinking group.
Snyder's last comment rings so true about most of the larger COG's today.  They present the image that they are conflict free and the most unified COG's to exist in 1,900 years.  They can only do this because their members have been "de-energized" and turned into non-thinking robots.

Snyder tells them in order to visionary they need to "look forward."
Second, develop a new view of success, he advised. “Look forward, not backward.” Historically, the Radio Church of God that formed out of the Church of God, 7th Day, was “a true splinter that made it” because it became a visionary organization. Next, identify your one key message and make sure it is embraced and cherished at all levels.
Most of the COG's should have actually named themselves, The Boo-Hoo Church of God.  They live in the past glorifying dead leaders, dated literature and failed prophecies.  "Look at us, we are the only true remnant holding on to the truth and no one wants to join us, boo-hoo.  The WCG changed doctrines...boo-hoo.  They sold all the campuses...boo-hoo. Tkach told us to stop abusing members....boo-hoo."

Snyder then closed with this:
Finally, leaders must “over-communicate” in times of crises. To implement these points, it is important to “start at zero,” he said. That means looking in fresh ways at communication and asking, “because we communicated one way in the past, is it still the best way?” Talk to the individual, build the relationships between people. Defining your own “brand” Being proactive in leading and communicating is critically important, Mr. Snyder stressed, because of this rule: If you don’t manage your reputation, someone else will! To draw a parallel, he said that in business terminology the United Church of God is a “brand.” In other words, people identify certain things with UCG, as they do with other church organizations. Your “brand” is important because it identifies you or your group by defining a promise or perception of consistently fulfilled promises. We should ask ourselves, either as an individual or as a group, “What is it that my service does that is different? Why is it good? What am I known for? Whatever you answer, if the answer doesn’t grab you, you’ve got a big problem.”
Snyder is right in that NOTHING UCG has done lately has "grabbed' any one or caught their attention.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on failed advertising public campaigns which have produced zilch. Incredibly BAD TV shows have not brought in members. Publishing booklets patterned on old WCG literature has also failed.

UCG had a chance 20 years ago to reinvent its self into something "good."  However it preferred the old ways and clung bitterly to the past.  It kept the same abusive ministers in charge, it kept the same abusive polices they claimed to have suffered under in WCG. All UCG could do was imitate its past and its been a massive failure.

It remains to be seen how visionary or forward thinking they will become, because so far that have no vision.

Crack's in the Defense of Herbert Armstrong and Ellen G White's Prophet Status

Below is an article that appeared on an ex-SDA Facebook page.  It is about Ellen G White and the belief that she was a prophet.  If you substitute her name with Herbert Armstrong's you get the exact same scenario on how HWA claimed to not be a prophet yet deep down thought he was.

"A Crack in the Defense of EGW" (and HWA)

One of the many defenses that the SDA (COG) use for EGW (HWA) is that she (he) "never claimed to be a prophetess (prophet)". But what is a prophet? What are the marks of a prophet? First let's look at what EGW (HWA); the SDA Church (COG) said.

"One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White (HWA). As the Lord's messenger, her (his) writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction. They also make clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested."—Fundamental Beliefs, 17

Ellen White (HWA) never assumed the title of prophetess, but she (he) did not object when others called her (him) by that title. (What follows is a quote from EGW, though HWA said the exact same thing) She explained, "Early in my youth I was asked several times, Are you a prophet? I have ever responded, I am the Lord's messenger. I know that many have called me a prophet, but I have made no claim to this title. . . . Why have I not claimed to be a prophet?—Because in these days many who boldly claim that they are prophets are a reproach to the cause of Christ; and because my work includes much more than the word 'prophet' signifies. . . . To claim to be a prophetess is something that I have never done. If others call me by that name, I have no controversy with them. But my work has covered so many lines that I can not call myself other than a messenger." - White, "A Messenger," Review and Herald, July 26, 1906, p. 8. The title "the Lord's messenger" was given by inspiration (ibid.).

And just what did her  'work' entail?

EGW - "Little heed is given to the Bible," she said, therefore "the Lord has given a lesser light to lead men and women to the greater light." - White, "An Open Letter," Review and Herald, Jan. 20, 1903, p. 15 in White, Colporteur Ministry (Mountain View, CA: Pacific Press, 1953), p. 125.

EGW - "'I took the precious Bible and surrounded it with the several Testimonies for the Church, given for the people of God. . . . .You are not familiar with the Scriptures. If you had made God's word your study, with a desire to reach the Bible standard and attain to Christian perfection, you would not have needed the Testimonies. It is because you have neglected to acquaint yourselves with God's inspired Book that He has sought to reach you by simple, direct testimonies, calling your attention to the words of inspiration which you had neglected to obey, and urging you to fashion your lives in accordance with its pure and elevated teachings.'" - White, Testimonies, vol. 5, pp. 664, 665.

Prophet (Merriam-Webster's Dictionary) - a member of some religions (such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) who delivers messages that are believed to have come from God
1 : one who utters divinely inspired revelations: as
a) often capitalized : the writer of one of the prophetic books of the Bible
b) capitalized : one regarded by a group of followers as the final authoritative revealer of God's will (Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah)
2 : one gifted with more than ordinary spiritual and moral insight; especially  an inspired poet
3 : one who foretells future events : predictor
4 : an effective or leading spokesman for a cause, doctrine, or group
5 Christian Science
a : a spiritual seer
b : disappearance of material sense before the conscious facts of spiritual Truth
Prophet (Smith's Bible Dictionary)- The ordinary Hebrew word for prophet is nabi, derived from a verb signifying "to bubble forth" like a fountain; hence the word means one who announces or pours forth the declarations of God. The English word comes from the Greek prophetes (profetes), which signifies in classical Greek one who speaks for another, especially one who speaks for a god, and so interprets his will to man; hence its essential meaning is "an interpreter." The use of the word in its modern sense as "one who predicts" is post-classical. The larger sense of interpretation has not, however, been lost. In fact the English word ways been used in a closer sense. The different meanings or shades of meanings in which the abstract noun is employed in Scripture have been drawn out by Locke as follows: "Prophecy comprehends three things: prediction; singing by the dictate of the Spirit; and understanding and explaining the mysterious, hidden sense of Scripture by an immediate illumination and motion of the Spirit."

So, we can see by definition, a 'prophet' is a messenger who gives or speaks the message from God. EGW (HWA) did claim to be "the Lord's messenger", so in fact she (he) did claim to be a prophet, by deed, even if not by title. And as such she (he) must be pass the Biblical test of a prophet, and it is in this area that she (he) fails. By God's own word, she (he) is therefor NOT A PROPHET(messenger) SENT BY HIM!!!

Fred Dattalo Opens His Home So Seniors Can Experience What Being A Privileged PCG Minister Is Like

Fred Dattalo has been struggling to recover his damaged image after contributing to the suicide of Janet De Generro.  Dattalo, Culpepper and Flurry all contributed to this woman's mental breakdown because of PCG's abominable and abusive "no contact" polices and then covered up that she had committed suicide.

See: How Fred Dattalo, Cal Culpepper and Gerald Flurry Caused The Suicide of Janet De Gennaro

Fred has a long history in the Church of God in trying to be seen as a relevant person in the hierarchy.  He was employed in Pasadena for many years in Accounting and then jumped ship to be with Rod Meredith when the Global Church of God was started.  Then when Global imploded and Meredith took all of its money, Dattalo jumped ship to Living Church of God.  Then when Meredith did not pander to Dattalo's magnificence he jumped ship to Gerald Flurry's personalty cult.  There Dattalo quickly rose up the ranks.  By this time Dattalo knew what to say and what not to say in order to advance.

In his new found position of power in the Philadelphia Church of God, Dattalo has had a heavy hand in making the lives of PCG members as miserable as possible.

See:    Fred Dattolo Goes Up High in PCG
See:    Disfellowshipping

Now Dattlo is in charge of all the financial records of the Canadian PCG members.  He closely monitors who is giving and how much.

Now PCG is trotting Dattalo out as a warm and welcoming man who opened his backyard for the senior PCG members in his area.  From the picture taken in  Dattalo's backyard it is very apparent that he does NOT live in a small house considering the size of his backyard.  Being high up in the PCG certainly has its rewards!

Joel Hilliker Thankful for His Life of Privilege

Joel's home on the PCG compound.

The Philadelphia Church of God recently ran the following article on its web site as if it was something of importance:  Thankful   Its a story by Joel Hilliker on how much he appreciates  his two decades of privileged lifestyle in the Philadelphia Church of God.

He starts of with a rather odd comment on how God pays close attention to anniversaries, memorials and reminders...though birthdays are not part of that scenario.  Joel apparently does not see the hypocrisy in his comment.  God loves anniversaries but hates birthdays. That's why Joel's god apparently is well pleased that Joel joined Gerald Flurry's cult in 1994 though.
God pays close attention to many anniversaries, memorials and annual reminders. The Sabbath after Thanksgiving is one date I remember each year. It was on this day in 1994 that my family attended services with the Philadelphia Church of God for the first time.
He then goes on about all of HIS accomplishments:
I can survey more than 19 years of being baptized—possessing and growing in the Holy Spirit, the source of spiritual understanding, power, love. Over 17 years of working at headquarters in Edmond, directly contributing to God’s Work. Nearly 16 years of marriage, building memories and absorbing all the lessons it offers. Over 14 years in God’s ministry, and 14 years teaching at God’s college, helping others’ spiritual growth. Over 13 years as a father, and seven as a father of three, working in partnership with God and my wife at shaping future God beings.
There's one common thread in all Armstrongite splinter cults.  Its always about THEM instead of Jesus.  They never can seem to mention the guy.

Then Joel writes:
What a marvelous education. When God begets someone with His Spirit and brings him into His Family, He is so generous with opportunities to learn and grow.
Joel has apparently been elevated above the lowly church members who have never experienced generosity or received numerous opportunities to learn and grow at church expenses.  While they suffer and are forced to kick their children to the curb and are forced to send in more and more money, Joel  lives a life of privileged luxury with all of the ministerial perks that go with his job.  Free travel to Feast sites, free lodging, free (or highly discounted) schooling for his children, meals payed for, many personal expenses paid for, a fancy home, corporate cars, access to the upper leadership of the cult and much much more.

He then writes this:
Developing a relationship with Him through daily prayer, continually striving to make it more Spirit-minded, godlier, more vigorous and robust. Learning the skills, the workmanship, of productive Bible study; coming to accept the piercing of God’s spiritual sword into the joints and marrow; learning to convert words, stories, abstractions, into redirected thoughts, words and deeds; seeking biblical guidance to answer life’s questions, to speak to one’s own needs and the needs of the family. Building relationships within the body of Christ, being sharpened by the iron of Christian fellowship, learning to serve and sacrifice and love. Developing a relationship with Christ’s ministry, recognizing direction, seeking counsel, accepting correction. These are the courses of a character-building curriculum. These are true blessings.

Armstrongism thrives on the warrior god that is constantly battling the world around them.  They cannot focus up on the grace filled message of Jesus, but sure do love the swords and mayhem of their Old Testament god they follow.

All credit to the Husbandman. He truly is relentless in His effort to produce fruit within His children. Within the heart of every last begotten son who will yield to Him, He never ceases to work away—pressing, prodding, softening, molding, toiling, hammering, healing. And because of His pity, persistence, perseverance and unending patience, over time—over decades—His efforts repay. He keeps incrementally gaining ground in His supreme feat of creative accomplishment.

If they actually knew the Jesus they claim to follow then they would not feel the need to be ceaselessly prodded, constantly being remolded, toiling away, being hammered at, or following a god that is only incrementally is able to gain ground in its creatures.  Jesus says his yoke is Easy, His burden is light.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
For my yoke is pleasant and my burden is light.

There's nothing pleasant about being constantly prodded, being hammered and toiling away hoping that somehow you have appeased the deity into granting you a few crumbs at the table.

The decades of abuse that Gerald Flurry has abused his members with stains the very hands of privileged Joel.  He is part of the problem and is culpable for all the misdeeds of the Philadelphia Church of God due to his status as a minister.  That's noting to be thankful for.

Imprisoned Church of God Felon Demotes All of His Elder's

Imprisoned Church of God felon Ron Weinland has sent out a missive to all of his ministers telling them they have all been demoted.  Weinland's personality cult has lost numerous members and elders since his imprisonment and because of his failed prophecies which have lead to a drop in income and continuing exodus of members.  His glut of ministers and elders is no longer needed. Many elders and ministers have already left and others are ticked that Weinland has placed his batty wife Laura and his money-laundering daughter Audra in a higher rank than all the other ministers of the cult.  In those lofty positions all the elders were instructed that Laura and Audra had to approve their sermons prior to preaching at the feast and at other times.

Like all the other filth that comes from Wienland's mouth, his god supposedly is speaking these things to  his cult.  His god sees a need to get rid of the chaff so money can be diverted to Audra and Laura - the Anointed Ones.  Money being spent on these ministers is now needed to take care of Laura and Audra's trips around the world preaching the message of Jesus and grace felon Big Daddy.

This letter is being sent to you to inform you that you are being moved from the role of an elder to that of an associate elder. This is rather new for the Church, since our history coming from Worldwide has been different. During those days, an ordination, or specific office in the ministry, was viewed as a life-long placement. However, in this time that is now before us, there is a different design and purpose in what God is working, and we are simply to learn from it and support it. God has specific reasons for these changes and the streamlining that is taking place in the ministry. Some of that will be mentioned here, but other matters will be learned as you go forward.
At this point, there are right at 40 ministers being directly affected by these changes and reorganization, with the likelihood of a few more that will follow. So we are sending most all of you this same letter concerning this specific change, although there are a lot of others who are now being fully removed/retired from the ministry.
Weinerdude choking his chicken

Weinland and his band of Merry Women are weeding out the chaff so that those few loyal men and women left can be placed in positions of leadership over the ENTIRE world when their thing they call Jesus Christ returns to whip the world into shape. Those advance in years are being relegated to the gutter because they will not be able to cope in Weinland's world to come.
As a whole, God is now preparing and training a group within the ministry who will become quite active as we go into the final stages of this end-time and they are primarily being readied for responsibilities once the Millennium is established. Many of you have issues with health and/or age that simply restrict you from carrying out certain duties. This may also restrict you from being able to serve in what is coming.

In other words, all of that pandering you did to the Weinland's in order to establish your position in the church and thte kingdom to come was worthless.
In a few cases, it is simply a matter that the need for your service as a minister does not or will not exist where you are located. This also means that the need for some roles within the ministry are not now needed for the same purpose that existed several years ago and for what God was teaching and molding within the Church. Many things have changed since this process of a widely expanded ministry began.
Some the people Weinland had in positions of leadership are being removed because they are bringing embarrassment to Audra and Laura for not being submissive.  This will be a time to now reflect on their grievous sins against the Anointed Ones.
Yet for a few of you, this is a matter of your need to more deeply examine yourself and the example you have been living that reflects upon the ministry. Ministers are indeed held to a higher standard of responsibility and example in what is reflected in our life to others around us. It is a matter of striving to be on greater guard in all that we do, say, and administer in our responsibilities toward the world around us, toward the Church, and also our personal families. Over the next year, this will be the time to make the necessary changes that have been put off or ignored for too long now.
No matter how hard or diligent a minister was in  Weinland's cult makes no difference now.  People like his son Jeremy can kick you to the gutter so they can hove the power and prestige.  You are all nothing more than worthless chattel for the Anointed Ones.
In other cases, the change in one’s role may simply be a matter for the need of stepping aside so that others can be inserted who need the experiences that can only be gleaned, learned, and molded into a person by serving for a period of time in the ministry. This is God’s work in us and it is by His design.

Some of the extra rebellions elders will be getting MORE than this letter from the Witless Witness.  A stern rebuke is coming from the Anointed Ones striking down the rebellious sinning men and women who will not bow in the presence of Audra, Laura and Weinerdude himself.

Everyone being moved from the role of an elder to that of an associate elder will be receiving this “form letter”, although, some few of you are being given more than this letter. For those receiving more direct correction where it is needed, you know some of the primary matters that must be addressed and changed in your life. Others will need to genuinely examine yourself before God to see it there are things that you need to address and change. Although there are still some of you who have consistently been moving forward and growing spiritually and the change for your role in the ministry is simply a matter of some of the other reasons listed, and not primarily of a matter of correction.
Even though we are treating you all like shit at this time we want you to know WE LOVE YOU and APPRECIATE YOU!
Lastly, is a matter of great importance to Laura and myself. We have loved working in a more direct manner with you due to your being in the ministry. In a short time, we have been through much together. We are so thankful for all the support and service you have given to us and God’s Church. That does not change simply because you are no longer in the role of an elder, but that of an associate elder. You are in God’s ministry and yet have much before you concerning service you can render to the Church. So again, thank you!

We continue to move forward together as a family. As there is still so much that is before us as a Church, and for Laura and myself, we need and are requesting your continued prayers and support for us and the Body of Christ.

I Am The First Legitimate True Prophet In Centuries!

For several years now this web site and others have mocked and ridiculed the self-appointed prophet Bob Thiel.  Even Rod Meredith and the Living Church of God have taken called him out on his silliness.  In spite of this Theil still incessantly struggles on to try and impress people about his prophethood status. Thiel's huge issues is than 99.999999999999999% of the Caucasian race ignores his drivel.  The only people that are halfway interested in him are some minuscule groups in Africa.  Even many of those are groups of people looking for American churches for an easy handout.

Stinging for constantly being ignored when his message is supposed to be so vitally important in this end times Thiel is having to "prove" once again why he is a true prophet of his god.  In order to do this he has so denounce many other people claiming to be prophets.  Thiel also seems to be believe that he is the only one in the COG who is able to discern who is a prophet and who is not.  Three guess as to who is....

For quite a few years, I have denounced a variety of false and self-appointed prophets at the www.cogwriter.com website and have long had an article titled Why Be Concerned About False and Heretical Leaders? From time to time, I also get emails from people who believe that they are some type of prophet or one of the two witnesses or have some special prophetic message. Sadly, because of many false self-appointed prophets, many in the Church of God have dismissed that God actually could have someone in the office of prophet at this time.
In Thiel's latest blog post where he seeks to legitimize himself, he quotes from Herbert Armstrong and Leroy Neff as reliable sources in discerning prophets.  Leroy Neff???????  HWA??????  Neither of these men had any qualifications to do such a thing, but then Theil is also incapable of discernment.

Thiel writes trying to prove since he is a little insignificant man who has no theological training,  is NOT a great speaker and does not have a large church that these are signs he is one.  God chose him.
A true prophet would not need to be from a major theological institution, have the most magnanimous personality, be a great speaker, or have a large or impressive Church, but would be the type willing to meet in members’ homes. He also does not have to have had a ministerial background. God chooses who His prophets are. Notice something from the Old Testament:
14 Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah: “I was no prophet, Nor was I a son of a prophet, But I was a sheepbreeder And a tender of sycamore fruit. 15 Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock, And the Lord said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’ (Amos 7:14-15)
Then to give himself an easy out, he compares himself to Paul who had failed then prophecies:

It also should be noted that while the Apostle Paul considered himself to be a prophet, not all of his speculative predictions were accurate. He once claimed:
10 I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives (Acts 27:10).

The only problem in quoting this is that Paul was just making a comment, as anyone else does when face with a large issues ahead.  A prophecy by definition involves direct revelation from a "divine" source."

Such messages typically involve divine inspiration, interpretation, or revelation of conditioned events to come (cf. divine knowledge).

Causal off-the-cuff comments are not prophecy.  Can Thiel truly be this naive?  Oh wait, he has no theological education, what more should I have expected?

Then taking the wounded martyr status he admits no one listens to him or ever will.

Truly, most people will not listen to a true prophet of God in this age. And, even when God grants power to His two witnesses, most in the world will not only not listen to them, they will be deceived enough to support an army that will fight against the returning Jesus Christ (Revelation 16:13-14; 19:11-19)!

Then to further legitimate himself, Thiel trots out Gaylyn Bonjour once again.

A true prophet is under God’s authority. A true New Testament prophet has had hands laid upon him/her and/or received special anointing. You can not anoint yourself or come up with doctrine that contradicts the Bible (cf. Revelation 22:18-19) like at least three self-declared supposed COG “prophets” (Gerald Flurry, William Dankenbring, and Ronald Weinland) and false predictors (like Harold Camping and David Pack) have falsely done)–”Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35).

Thus far, none who have ever contacted me and claimed to have been a prophet of some type have had hands laid upon them to give them the type of anointing that a true prophet of God would likely have had in this church age if God was selecting them. Hence, if the anointing from a true minister has not happened to you, understand that I do not now accept that you are a prophet or one of the two witnesses. Laying hands upon yourself is not enough.
Then Thiel makes another mind numbing silly comment.  According to Thiel his receiving of the status of prophet was so unique that it probably had not occurred for precious mutiple centuries!

In my case, in November/December 2011, I prayed that if I truly had a prophetic role from God that He would have something happen during a planned mid-December 2011 trip to Charlotte, North Carolina to confirm it or deny it if that were His will. As it turned out, on 12/15/2011 hands were laid upon me in Charlotte by ordained minister Gaylyn Bonjour. He prayed that I would be granted a “double-portion” of God’s Holy Spirit. He told me that he had not ever done this before but he felt that it was reminiscent of the time that the prophetic and ecclesiastical leadership mantle passed from the Prophet Elijah to Elisha (2 Kings 2:9-13). This minister had been unaware that I had prayed that God would have me anointed or somehow identified for a prophetic role on that mid-December 2011 trip if that were His plan for me and I had never discussed my possible prophetic role with him prior to this anointing. This 12/15/11 anointing appears to be the first biblically-appropriate prophetic anointing in the Church of God in many decades, if not many multiple centuries. And the legitimacy of this anointing has been proven by subsequent events–though many do not seem to understand how God works at times. And yes, I will add that I believe that I do have the appropriate prophetic fruits that Jesus discussed (Matthew 7:15-20) and that those truly interested in the truth can see this if they truly wish to prayfully look into this.
For centuries no prophet has emerged like Bob Thiel. He's one of a kind!  He is so incredibly special that the the angels in heaven rejoiced at his raising up as prophet! Even God and Jesus Christ shouted glad hosannas!  The earth will be saved at the hands of Bob.

God's Greatest COG Prophet EVER Is Incensed Obama Did Not Say Thanks To God And Is "Disturbing" Because He Is Watching Football Today

What would the Church of God be without all of its stark raving mad false prophets?  The last 70 some years of Armstrongism would have been boring as hell if it had not been for these mentally deranged lunatics!

Today, God's most highly favored prophet in this dispensation is back online incensed that Americans are enjoying football on Thanksgiving Day.  Not only is the false prophet bitter about football but he has to find anything negative about the day - which is typical of Amstrongism in its ability to duck any enjoyment in life out of EVERYTHING!

Today is national holiday in the USA called Thanksgiving. And despite certain claims, its specific origins are not pagan. But, of course, no Christian needs to celebrate national holidays like it.  And the Bible does condemn gluttony."

"One thing that I have noticed on the day called Thanksgiving by those in the USA, is when I have been at many places than the home I lived in, American football has been playing on television.
For many, other than food and family, football is a major focus of the Thanksgiving holiday."
He then has to smack down President Obama for not saying thank-you to God today and for watching football.  Regardless of ones opinion about Obama, Thiel's silliness reaches a new depth of depravity:

Notice the following:
Nov 22, 2012
For the fourth straight year, the Thanksgiving resolution from President Barack Obama fails to actually thank God — which is the fundamental reason why Thanksgiving is observed…
But, to President Obama, Thanksgiving is about food and football, according to his official remarks as distributed by the White House.
“For us, like so many of you, this is a day full of family and friends; food and football. It’s a day to fight the overwhelming urge to take a nap – at least until after dinner,” Obama said. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/11/22/4th-straight-year-obama-thanksgiving-resolution-doesnt-thank-god/
Whether or not the US president will publicly and officially thank God later today remains an open question. But the fact that Barack Obama did not do that in many past thanksgiving addresses, but instead advocates football is disturbing. Now the fact is that I have never considered that Barack Obama was a real Christian, but what about real Christians today?
Then he gets into his usual tripe that Paul and John the Baptist would not like football:

While I have even heard some people thank God for football, it is not a sport that I believe that the God of love would condone.

The person that Jesus stated was greater than all others born of women (Matthew 11:11), John the Baptist taught:
14 Do violence to no man (Luke 3:14, KJV)
The Apostle Paul taught:
Love does no harm to a neighbor (Romans 13:9).
What do sports like American football and boxing do? Even if played according to all of its rules, American tackle football is evil because it actually physically harms many its participants

Is it any wonder Armstrongism is rapidly disintegrating when these asshats run off at the mouth?  All I can say is THANK-YOU!! T/e more dumb things you say the weirder Armstrongism looks to  he world.
