MAN'S IGNORANCE AND GOD'S GRACE: A CASE FOR CONDITIONAL IMMORTALITY
Revulsion at the prospect of eternal agony in hell has
caused me to see the Bible in a whole new light. This book is an attempt
to document the discoveries from Scripture and the writings of a few
theologians pertaining to the matter of the eternal destiny of man.
Certainly this document is contrary to popular teaching and it will be
troubling to those who are unfamiliar with the minority position in
Christianity called Conditional Immortality.[2] Nevertheless, the
position needs to be stated. Clarity will be brought to the matter of
salvation and its depth of acceptance. This work will take issue with
traditional Christian teaching with a resolve to make a significant
contribution to the theological-doctrinal positions that touch upon the
matter of Conditional Immortality.

Curious...
I see he pastors a "congregation of Grace Communion International"
Is he in Joe Jr's church?
As far as I know, yes. Though there are two other churches listed.
Hey, he's in my area! We could get together for burgers and beer, if he is willing to eat with publicans and sinners.
Maybe even, if I would agree to hear one of his sermons, he would attend a storytelling performance I am scheduled to give this weekend in a former whorehouse in La Crosse. I hope to make my program worthy of the venue.
I am Roger Galstad. Yes, I pastor a congregation of Grace Communion International. Yes, I am in Joe Jr'
s church.
Yes, let's get together for burgers and beers if you do not mind eating with a fellow sinner.
Come hear one of my sermons and I'll go to the reformed cathouse and hear one of your stories, fair trade I believe.

Conditional Immortality is your basic good souls live forever, through Jesus, bad souls die forever in basic destruction. Well at least one doesn't have to hang around in hell burning yet not.
I suppose it combines the best of fundamentalist Christianity for the good guys and the best of WCG, extinction.
I always go back to "and you KNOW this???" Well of course they do because it's in the Bible.
Sometimes it seems to me that a PhD in Religious Studies is the same as saying one has a PhD in Folklore and Mythology. It is like being an expert of sorts in the story of Hansel and Gretel or The Princess and the Pea.
It is like imagining truth A which leads to questions B and C which are answered by D which opens up the never before thought of problem E leading to speculation or answer F which makes us conclude G which has its own contradictions and problems.
However, none of it is true. A never happend so the questions B and C are irrelevant as is answer D which really doesn't cause problem E........
It's like writing a book on the meaning of Adam and Eve with Adam being the first man ...earthy. Eve screws up and gets us all under original sin in need of a second man Adam from the heavens.
However if there never was a literal Adam and Eve and certainly not in relatively recent human history, all that it supposedly lead to never was real either.
If the reason one eats Unleavened Bread in the woods only is because Gretel ate part of the Witch's leavened Gingerbread roof and got everyone in trouble...well I think you realize that's no real reason to eat unleavened bread...
If I really want to get a good chuckle and be grateful I no longer have to bother with such religious meanderings, as if they knew, I can read The Surprising God Blog.
I always picture God reading that stuff and God being surprised anyone believes that...
Anyway...I blather....Namaste
