That Other Prophet Says Dave Pack is Wrong: Christ Cannot Return Till 2027

By the time COG Jesus Christ gets here
he is going to be really ticked off at all the delays he has had to endure.

The Great Bwana to Africa takes great exception to Dave Pack's latest announcement that Jesus was returning last week. As we have all seen, Dave was an epic failure. No Jesus. No tribulation. Nothing.

Now Jesus Christ will be delayed yet again as the self-appointed leader of the improperly named "continuing" Church of God says that his "jesus" cannot return until at least 2027.

04/15/20 p.m. Banned by HWA reported that RCG put out the following:
* Habakkuk 2:3 plainly says “the vision is yet for an appointed time [a moad].” The seven days of Passover are a moad! But recall events unfold at the “end”—“at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” The “end” of the appointed time of Passover is the Last Day of Unleavened Bread!
A few weeks ago Banned by HWA reported that RCG put out the following:
One thing to consider, this Tuesday evening, going into Adar 29, is the exact day—the last day before the first day of the sacred year—we reach the 6,000-year plan of God. Could this be the “last day” we have all been looking forward to? Only time will tell but so many things line up for us to consider this possibility.
As of this moment, I have not been able to verify this is truly from RCG as it is not available online from their website in a search. But presuming that this was accurate, David Pack and RCG were very wrong. There was no way that 5999th year (or if it means it differently the 6,000th year) ended during or at the end of the Days of Unleavened Bread in 2020.
The last Day of Unleavened Bread has ended in Wadsworth, Ohio (where RCG is based) and Jesus has not returned.

Anyway, Jesus cannot return for at least seven years from now. Hence, for those who believe in a 6,000/7,000 year plan as has been traditionally taught, the 6,000 years cannot end before 2027.  Bob Thiel

The one take away from this Covid 19 plague is that God is NOT consulting any of His alleged Ministry on anything.

They are weak as new born babies needing milk. And inward looking as the religious leaders in the 2nd Temple. Are they as jealous and corrupt as those Jesus called vipers ?

How many members saw the situation developing and took heed to Jesus's warning to WATCH, buying in certain products and cutting spending and praying for God's mercy and protection.
Then weeks and weeks later you hear how leaders of the various church groups did not remember to Watch but openly say how it all came upon them suddenly.
"I had not heard of this virus until three weeks ago" declared one COG leader.

So no declaring dates are very old hat now.

Thanks Mr. Thiel, I guess we all can get back to eating and drinking and marrying - beating our fellow men servant etc.

So Bob's 2027 return of Christ could line up with the theory that the 40 years of judgment upon the COG following Herbert Armstrong's death will have been complete.

Since Mr. Thiel has thrown down his edict into to this Christ watch, it ought to be an exciting next 5 years watching dueling prophets fight it out on who can get Jesus Christ to return first.

Note to California and Ohio authorities. I have the names of two people who may be in the market for a WW 2 era flame thrower.

I there is going to be a "Plan of God" then it should be called the ".0000428571% of Time Plan of God" Or perhaps the "Big Bang Johnny the Hairy Ape Come Very Lately Plan of God"? :)

However, and too, there is no actual 6000 year plan of God. That's an unfortunate piece of ignorance HWA was able to cling to in the 20th Century. We should know better by now. Jericho, just down the hill from Jerusalem has been shown to be 10,000 years old.

Modern human fossils, estimated as 177,000 to 194,000 years old were found in an Israeli cave, the oldest remains of our species Homo sapiens found outside Africa.

More recently a huge Stone Age settlement unearthed outside Jerusalem may have been home to 3,000 people, the Neolithic equivalent of a large city, according to details released by the Israel Antiquities Authority and believed to have been inhabited 9,000 years ago,...

Modern humans over all have been around for approximately 300,000 years.

What they mean is the "6000 year Cultic Israelite Tale Dreamed up by Priests and Literalized by the Western Mind and HWA Plan of God."

So Dave and Bob, gyrate and dream on...

Historically verifiable dates only go back about 5000 years. Carbon dating has proved reasonably accurate within this time frame. However, the assumptions in carbon dating, such as no foreign dumping of carbon by an asteroids, etc, cannot be proved. So your 300,000 year old humans is debatable.

I would actually pay $19.95 to have a WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION type even with all of the cast of characters involved, on pay TV.

You could have about 45 minutes of various "smack down" between Malm, Thiel, Pack, Flurry, Weinland et al, with threats of "fire coming down from heaven" or "being eaten alive by dogs in the streets during the tribulation" etc, and then comes the main events, an elimination tournament wrestling matches.

Would love to see the various outfits that they would wear. Malm dressed as a 1609 Pilgrim, Pack wearing his speedo swim trunks, Flurry wearing a Gestapo type of outfit, Thiel dressed as a doctor with a white coat on, with a stethoscope around his neck, and Weinland wearing his wife's Victoria Secret underwear!

Who would win such a wrestling contest? Any guesses and reasons why?? ;-)

Victoria secret underwear? You are either a woman, or a cross dresser. Which is OK, since we are broad minded and non judgmental on Banned.

He'd probably make the common error and dress as a Puritan.

At least 2027. Bob doesn't commit himself to specifically predict when things will happen. His gift is telling people when things won't happen and after they happen.

Maybe the problem is that these guys are not Students of the Seven Seals. David Koresh, their Millerite brother prophet, claimed that the Seven Seals of Revelation had to be opened before Christ's return and Koresh, the Lamb, had to do the opening. Now that Koresh is gone, maybe there is nobody to open the Seals, hence, the hold up. If they only had Victor Houteff to advise them.

First of all, they are not my dates. They are accepted dates arrived at in the best of ways possible at this time. Secondly, carbon dating is not a factor in this. The half life of carbon is 5730 years. Material can be dated by this method up to about 50,000 years. After that, no one would use radio carbon dating methods. There are others for much older items.

Sounds like you need the Plan to be the Plan no matter the facts.

Cartoon Bob wrote, "Anyway, Jesus cannot return for at least seven years from now. Hence, for those who believe in a 6,000/7,000 year plan as has been traditionally taught, the 6,000 years cannot end before 2027."

MY COMMENT - If this statement were true, then where was Almost Arrested Doubly Blessed Dr. from a mail order degree mill Prophet Bob Thiel when Herbert Armstrong and the whole WCG was focused on "1975 in Prophecy" with a 1972 great tribulation and a 1975 return of Jesus Christ? Or when after that great disappointment occurred in the WCG, where was Cartoon Bob when Herbert Armstrong said on The World Tomorrow in the 1980s that Christ would return "in the next 10 to 15 years otherwise you would know the truth was not with me."

If Cartoon Bob's above comment was actually true, then where was he and why was he silent while the Rod of God, Rod Meredith, was saying we had "3 to 5 years" and saying it for 50 years including the time while the future Cartoon character Bob was playing cheerleader for Meredith and LCG on his website?

If Cartoon Bob's statement were actually true, then how does he account and incorporate the all important in Armstrongism - the 19 year time cycle? The closest 19 year time cycle ending date starting from January, 1934 (the year Armstrong always used for counting the 19 year time cycle when he began Radio Church of God on station KORE), would be January, 2029. So why didn't Cartoon Bob say "the 6,000 year plan cannot end before 2029? Or is Cartoon Bob and the other HWA wannabees clowns forgetting the 19 year time cycle that was once taught and so important in Armstrongism?

Dennis - your problem is you want to destroy their pet theories with a lot of stupid facts and common sense.
LCG is getting excited again by the dissension in Europe which will cause only 10 of the 27 nations to stay together and be led by Germany (of course).
This is an exciting time for the COG prophecy buffs - at least until the scientists find a cure.

Bob can be hard to figure out. He readily points out how others are wrong (compared against his own COG and take on things) but screams when he is scrutinized or critically analysed.
With all these years of schadenfreudistic claims of the soon-coming demise of the USA and "its Anglo-allies", the "apocalyptic president" and the rise of Europe under Germany, he seems to be annoyed that Germany is about to reopen business while the US is in "lockdown", while apparently applauding that Sweden never shut down.
Seems strange, or he just an instinctive naysayer? Sounds like the Monty Python "Argument Sketch".

Dennis, surely you have heard the young-earth creationist rebuttal to C14 dating; that the pre-flood environment contained richer plant life and thus more C14, meaning that pre-flood items measured by today's expected C14 levels will test as inaccurately older than they really are.

Yes, that's a convenient argument, but while it isn't provable there is actually evidence that in the last hundred years our modern use of fossil fuels may make C14 dating inaccurate, and possibly require us to start using a different carbon isotope to triangulate dating.

Thanks to Fossil Fuels, Carbon Dating Is in Jeopardy

Things like this make the young earther's claims look less ridiculous, even if they do happen to be wrong.

If you were a genuine atheist, you would not bother with this site. Nor would you be writing article after article about your Plan.

Anonymous April 17 at 8:26 AM chides Tonto this way: "Victoria secret underwear? You are either a woman, or a cross dresser. Which is OK, since we are broad minded and non judgmental on Banned."

Are you dense or something, 8:26? Tonto is jokingly teasing that Ron Weinland likes to wear sexy women's underwear. How does that suggest that Anon is either a cross-dresser or woman himself/herself/themself?

If a fascination with Victoria's secret catalogs is your clue, heck, your charge could apply to me and I suppose a lot of other men reading your comment.

Sure I would... But not to worry on the "article after article" thing. I've successfully lost interest in posting. Commenting perhaps like anyone else, but you're safe now.

Anonymous April 17 at 11:54 AM, Dennis is a lucky man to have you to keep him apprised of things a genuine atheist does not do.
If he agrees to follow your advice to stop bothering with this site and writing articles about his Plan, then he will be freed up to do a lot of other things--things that genuine atheists actually do.

Even if he does not take your admonition to heart, there are no doubt many other atheists around who would like to qualify as genuine. You would do such miscreants a service by noting down a list of things they should do. The atheists I know are sort of helter-skelter all over the place, with different proclivities and habits. You sound as if you could bring order to their world and maybe even promote consensus among them, so that they all speak with one voice. Maybe write a book, *The Idiot's Guide to Atheistic Thought and Action.*

Also, I have never been able to formulate Dennis's Plan in any concise way. You obviously have a pretty clear idea what it is. Could you help the rest of us out, please?

Radio Carbon (RC) Dating is quite accurate well beyond the 5,000 years you cite, as Dennis points out. See the following link:

https://biologos.org/articles/cross-checking-dating-methods-tree-rings-varves-and-carbon-14

A date of 300,000 years is debatable, as you assert, but only to a degree. Such a date might have been established using thermoluminescence by Gamma-ray spectrometer. Thermoluminescence is not as accurate as RC but it will get you in the ball park. It is accurate plus or minus 15 to 25 percent.

So what exactly is there to debate? We have the RC technique that covers the Bible-relevant timeframe quite nicely. For much earlier dates we have thermoluminescence where a +/- 25 percent error range would hardly be pivotal for any theological or Biblical concern. Modern man could have appeared as early as 375 ya or as late as 225 ya. In the context of religious issues, who cares? The fact is, phenotypically modern man was here well before 6,000 ya.

MY RESPONSE:

My post reference to Weinland wearing Victoria Secret underwear was a satire on the fact that during his embezzlement of church funds, his wife used tithe money to buy the Victoria Secret Underwear.

I am neither a woman nor a crossdresser, although on a hot New Mexico day, I have been known to wear a loin cloth.

Yours is the old "you don't have absolute or practical certainty, so you can't be sure of anything" ploy. I don't buy that. With knowledge and life experiences, one can often have high confidence in one's conclusions. The body of evidence on Dennis tells me that he is a fake atheist. That's my belief.

So only the big people who write the Idiot/Dummy books have a right to an opinion. The little people should believe and do as they are told. I don't believe that either.
