Wade Cox: Yes, I am truly this stupid when it comes to uttering prophecies

Another Church of God minister who has been an utter failure is Wade Cox. He has made so many prophecies that have failed that he, Bob Thiel and Ron Weinland are in competition to see who is the biggest Church of God liar.

Cox is so far out there that he claims the Koran is a holy book for Christians to be using and that his "god" created a race of human Elohims who have been running around on the earth ever since creation.  They were actually created before his fake "jesus" was created.

Added to all of that wackiness is Wade Cox's prophetic timeline:

2012 Thirty-fifth year of the fortieth Jubilee. Sabbath year and end of the Mayan Calendar and the Sun system. The Whore is destroyed by the Beast from this date and finally by the advent of the Messiah after the period of the two Witnesses, perhaps by 2018-2019.  FAILED

2016  Passover is the probable last time for the two Witnesses to be in place in Jerusalem. Droughts of the two Witnesses commence.   FAILED
2019 Probable last date for the return of the Messiah and the subjugation of the planet given the 2028 commencement for the millennial system and the time being cut short. GURANTEED TO FAIL

Kings of the East called down to Jerusalem and destroyed.   GURANTEED TO FAIL

2025  Perhaps less than 500 million people left alive on the planet. GURANTEED TO FAIL
2025/26  Treble Harvest year for the Jubilee  GURANTEED TO FAIL
2026/27 Sabbath Year   NOT  RELEVANT
2027    End Day 6    GURANTEED TO FAIL
2027/2028  Fortieth Jubilee since Messiah and Forty-ninth since the second Temple and Ezra/Nehemiah.   GURANTEED TO FAIL
2028  Beginning of the Jubilee of Jubilees from 1 Abib. The fiftieth Jubilee since the construction of the Temple and the restoration of the Temple and the Law under Ezra and Nehemiah   GURANTEED TO FAIL

The one thousand year millennial reign of Jesus Christ begins. The planet is run in peace and prosperity according to God’s Laws for 1000 years.  GURANTEED TO FAIL
3015-3027 Satan is released and the last war of the end begins.   GURANTEED TO FAIL
3028 The General Resurrection of the Dead   GURANTEED TO FAIL
The 100-year Judgment.   GURANTEED TO FAIL
3127 The City of God is complete and the Universe is structured anew.   GURANTEED TO FAIL

Here is what the Bible, the other book that Cox claims to follow, has to say about him and his teachings:

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity [lawlessness].

Wade is proof that the human race is hopelessly retarded.

Military records never lie said...

Yes, Cox is stupid, but those that follow him are even stupider! The idea that anyone believes this moron is beyond me. Some of my family are in his jackass of a cult and do work for him. I can see why his own government monitors him. With any luck he will be in jail just like Weinland was.

Can we all imagine (and let me see if I can get down to the proper level) what might be said in the ACOG sabbath services this weekend?)

"Don't worry about little ol' roly poly Kim Jung Un, brethren! The Bible tells us that it's the Germans and the great whore of Babylon that are going to punish the United States and United Kingdom, and that, really soon, like in the next 3-5 years! We don't need to be concerned about anything the Asians are doing until they rise up with the Russians to fight Christ!"

The problem with all of that is that it's based on the uninspired speculations of Herbert W. Armstrong, and has historically caused a smug false sense of safety, and lack of proper fear regarding some very real threats.
This is the type of thinking which prevented Armstrongites from realizing that "The Arabs" (their line of thinking and mode of expression) would attack us on 9-11. There is real danger right now, because a rogue hermit nation with little to lose could actually lob a nuke, or nukes, at Hawaii, or a West Coast major city, causing damage towards which Armstrongism is totally blinded. Los Angeles, and Southern California have a very large South Korean population. A hit there would simultaneously strike at two of North Korea's stated enemies.

This is not the naive 1950s or '60s when people actually believed that hiding under desks would protect school students from the effects of a nuclear blast. Besides, today's nukes are like today's marijuana. Much more potent than back in the '60s.

The ministers in the ACOGs would be ill advised to be using HWA's false prophecy mode as any sort of bogus reassurance to their congregations during this crisis. The correct message is be prepared, just as you might want to be for earthquakes or hurricanes. Bad things can happen. Unfortunately, many who were once deceived by Armstrongism go to opposite extremes when they leave, believing that no apocalyptic events could possibly happen in our modern, enlightened world. You might say that Armstrongism has inflicted double damage in that respect, one type of damage to those still inside, and one type to those who have left. Let us pray for the safety of our people, and for a safe resolution to this conflict!

The last five events are not 'Wade Cox exclusive', but beliefs of most of the COG groups, and some other groups, although the exact dating of them may be Wades own.

However the 'GUARANTEED TO FAIL' tag for these events, the last four of which are at least one thousand years in the future, means a bit of a long wait, both for Wade Cox followers and followers of this blog.

In reality it's simply a case of do you believe the Bible is a work of men, or inspired by God.

Depending on the Bible for guidance can be hazardous to your health. How can it be inspired by a perfect god when there are so many divergent and contradictory ideas spawned from its pages?? It amazes me that intelligent people can be so blinded. I must admit, I was once among them for many years.

Obviously it is the brainwashing from our youth, as with all religious ideas. Hard to escape the trap. Almost impossible for the eyes to open.

very good question, do you have any answers?????

In another time frame and posessing todays knowledge. Can you now see what could happen if people do not get their daily dose of "fear mongering" about nuclear war. As the real German leaders call it. "Sleepwalking into nuclear catastrophe." Perhaps now you understand that a Psy Opp does not need to be hidden. It needs to get the largest exposure possible.

Agreed, HWA did not warn about the other real danger of not getting involved with 401k's. As you state. Such decission is part of the personal domain.

One cannot complaim about not having a retirement fund AND at the same time complain about having discussed your next car investment with a minister first since "that should have been a personal decision on ones finances."

That would be cherry picking.

I wonder how many cherry blossoms will bloom in Pyong Yang next year.

It is really amusing to see how the entire world fears "Trumps unpredictability" on this regional strategic issue. And not Swiss educated Kim. How far have we fallen.

Nck ~ some of my comments are deliberately expressed from the standpoint of the ways in which I believe Armstrongites think (assuming that they hold fast to their programming). The comments which are made from this point of view do not reflect my own opinions or behavioral patterns. So, the comments you made in your 10:28 post address a "devil's advocate" (wow! Will some of the COGlodytes ever take that one literally!) perspective.

Oh, and by the way. Do we know if Kim was an A student, or cruised along in C's and D's? It ain't the institution so much as what was learned and retained from the institution. He also had his modifiers. To begin to grasp this, imagine what absurd influences Armstrongism would have had on a student at a prestigious university studying microbiology, or genetics.

Hopefully, this time next year, the cherry blossoms in Pyong Yang will have been fertilized by Kim's decaying remains. That guy is almost as evil as HWA.

Yes, I do have answers, and I have reasons for my answers. No doubt you also have answers, and reasons for your answers.

Only problem is - You are unlikely to recognise my reasons as valid, in the same way that I am unlikely to recognise your reasons as valid.

That is the way it is, and I suppose that is why boards such as this exist. But just how many people actually change their beliefs from debates on such boards?

Gerald, the idea that there are so many contradictions in the Bible is a bit of a myth. So many of these 'contradictions' are in reality no such thing if you can genuinely look at things honestly.

Just one example that Denise so often rolls out - the number of donkeys involved in Jesus's entrance to Jerusalem. There is no contradiction in the gospels on this point if you honestly look at the accounts, and read what they actually all say on the issue. Everything matches up once you accept that the different authors each had their own viewpoint, and brought out different aspects that they felt were important.

Different viewpoints and emphasis, but no contradiction. This applies in so many other incidents as well.

Sorry Dennis, didn't mean to call you Denise.

It was either my spellchecker, or finger trouble!

If I learned one thing than it is that you are the one taking things literally ALL the time.

Of course North Korea is not ruled by Kim. It is ruled by a set of people needing the son of god as their frontman. It is no good to turn him into fertilizer only.

Interesting question by the way.
I knew quite some really intelligent people in wcg, by academic standards. Former pharmacists, doctors, surgeons, technologists etc etc.
Some of them turned quite nutty only after 1995. But were held in quite high esteem before that period. By their class, but mostly because of their sacrifice if I remember well.

Questeruk, your comment proves my point: You are one of the brainwashed, but have yet to recognize it, and probably never will. Until age 62, I was in the same place. I don't dislike you, or wish you harm because we disagree.

If you want to believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that one day you will rule in His kingdom, and watch me burn in the Lake of Fire, that is your right. Your belief system may well bring you comfort and assurance, and you have lots of company. "Whatever gets you through the night." Religion can provide peace of mind, but you sure do have to ignore a lot of cold, hard facts.

If you check out Matthew 24, it is obvious that even Jesus was a false prophet. No return of the Son of Man in that generation. You may be able to generate some kind of weak explanation for this "difficult scripture", but you can't rip it out of the pages of your Holy Bible. It is there, and it is blatant.

There are many false statements and prophecies in its pages, but as long as you are a Bible and pamphlet reader, your mind will remain closed. It doesn't really make that much difference, as we all end up with the same fate. I know this stark reality is not easy to accept. Religion is all about escaping death.

Questeruk asks, "But just how many people actually change their beliefs from debates on such boards?"

I've got no statistics, but I can testify that it can happen. When I left Ambassador I assumed that HWA and GTA were sincere but deluded. My relatives kept me abreast of changes in the church: divorce and makeup doctrines, the big "Never mind" of 1975, GTA's ouster(s), HWA's remarriage, and so on. For the NPR story about HWA's death, John Trechak was interviewed. When he said HWA was evil, I was indignant. Nothing changed my mind until I started nosing around after retirement and discovered dissident blogs such as The Painful Truth (especially the archives of Ambassador Report), Ambassador Watch, The Purple Hymnal, and Banned.

On the basis of that reading, I became convinced that HWA was a con man, not a delusional fanatic. Not a change from negative to positive, but definitely a new opinion.

Hi Gerald.

Glad to hear that you don’t dislike me, or wish me harm because we disagree!

I am actually somewhat puzzled that you find it necessary to have to make such a statement. Why should you dislike me, or wish me harm? We don’t know each other; we don’t even live on the same continent!

Also, why would you think I would want to watch you ‘burn in the Lake of Fire’? Of course I would not desire any such thing. Anyway, I would not expect anyone on this board to have such a fate. In this world, where it is not possible to have absolute truth, how could a righteous God condemn anyone?

So no problem Gerald, you are not going to any lake of fire.

I am certain that you, like me, are seeking the truth of the matter – only difference is that we have come to different conclusions. But that’s OK, it will all be resolved in the end.

Regarding Mathew 24, I suggest you just read the relevant verse in the context that it was written. Jesus saying in verse 34 that ‘this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled’. Just ask the question, what things? Pretty obviously the things that Christ has been talking about in the previous few verses – so the generation that shall not pass away is the one where these things are happening – once it happens it will be a relatively short run thing, it will all happen in the one generation.

Is that just a ‘weak explanation’ or an obvious, common sense, explanation?

But again, no doubt you will have your view, and I will have my view.

Hi Prof (Retired),

You raise an interesting point. Of course I have both read and participated on those boards, and yes, to a degree it gave a certain awareness of what had gone on in the past.

But some things can be surprising. You mention ‘The Purple Hymnal’. Now was an intriguing board.

I had several deep postings and discussions with ‘Aggie’, who ran the board.

She had left WCG, and became a dedicated atheist – but only a few years later she revealed her true name, Velvet Delorey, and returned to WCG, or at least the WCG that was holding mainly to the original beliefs of that group.

So yes, maybe these boards can, on occasion, change people’s minds, and then maybe change them again!

No converted Christian wants to watch people burn in the lake of fire. According to the bible, it will happen, but I believe these people will already be dead when thrown into the fire. People will be crying and begging for their lives. I don't want to be anywhere near such a place. I believe it would be a mind scarring experience that would haunt people for all eternity. I hence speculate that God might use animal like creatures to throw people into the fire.
