Bob Thiel Letter To "Brethren and Co-Workers" Concerning Recent Public Humiliations

Things are not going well with Bob Thiel's African churches. His entire Malawi church group has left the improperly named "continuing" Church of "god". The Malawi churches have joined up with Hope of Israel. This doubly ticked off the doubly blessed prophet because not only have these people left for another group, they have REFUSED to submit to his GOVERNANCE!

Oh, and THEY ARE ALL LIARS!

Well, given the track record of COG leaders saying this over the decades, 99% of the time it all ends up being true! In Armstrongism when there is smoke there is always a fire.

Terry Nelson is Not in the Continuing Church of God

We received mainly positive reports related to the Days of Unleavened Bread.

One exception had to do with a congregation that would no longer attend services in a building after the owner of the building was contacted by Terry Nelson. The building owner was then saying so many bad things about CCOG leadership in Kenya which the congregation rejected and understood was not true, so instead of meeting at the building, the congregation met under a tree.

Terry Nelson is not part of the Continuing Church of God as he disfellowshipped himself several months ago and help register a ‘Hope of Israel’ group in Malawi. The ‘Hope of Israel’ denies Philadelphia era governance and has chosen to go in a different direction than the CCOG in many ways.

Terry Nelson has marked himself as hostile to the CCOG by intentionally targeting various CCOG members and putting forth various accusations and information that are not biblically-appropriate.

Related to researching one of his “proofs” and accusations related to a claim of financial corruption, I recently sent the following to deacon Grantone Otieno:

Dear Grantone:

Terry Nelson has a screenshot attached where he says you said that $50000 was spent on Bradox’s {Ochieng’s political} campaign. Is that something you did say?

If so, where did the money come from?

Grantone Otieno responded to me with the following a few days ago:

Greetings Dr. Bob. I know nothing about this.

I’VE never accursed Evans with that false accusation.

I know really know nothing like that.

Deacon Otieno also sent Terry Nelson an email saying that and more.

It also should be noted that another ‘Hope of Israel’ leader improperly posted at an anti-Church of God website that the CCOG lost entire countries in Africa–that is absolutely false. The CCOG did not lose one entire nation in Africa, nor even most of one.

Let me also add that since giving the sermon, Hierarchical Governance and Corruption on March 18, 2023, I was contacted via Facebook by a “Joy” who made various accusations against Evans Ochieng. The four people I have had review her Facebook messages to me (Bob Thiel) have all agreed that her testimony is not trustworthy as she has provided contradictory information that demonstrates that–plus she provided statements in contradiction to various facts.

Anyway, please do not be taken in by talebearers (Proverbs 26:22; Acts 20:3) and accusers of the brethren (Revelation 3:11, 12:10).

Bob Thiel was spitting angry a while back when it was exposed that the son of "evangelist" Evans and a member of his "church" was seeking political office. Thiel supposedly confronted Evans and his son and they denied it claiming that "someone else" put their name on the ballot. Bob then proclaimed that these were all FAKES meant to discredit his African leaders and himself.

Welp, we see how well that worked out!

Titus 1:5–7:  “This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might . . . appoint elders in every town as I directed you — if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach . . .”

Bob Thiel sure knows how to pick his leaders in Africa! 

Just gain a bunch of followers for Bob and you too can be ordained an "evangelist"! Good times will then be on your side. Money will flow in from the "world headquarters" storefront in Grover Beach. 

Having the title of an evangelist will bring you respect and authority in African nations as they stand in awe of your "ordination".

Even though Bob Thiel was never ordained he somehow believed he had the authority to ordain his African leader an evangelist. That ordination went straight to the head of Evans, particularly in the way he interacts with women in the regions he oversees.

Allegations of adultery have plagued him for several years now. Bob Thiel was warned about his actions, and Bob supposedly "investigated" from his office in Grave Beach and declared everything a lie.
