Living Church of God: Jim Meredith gets his wings clipped

From an LCG source:

The headquarters gravy train is over for Lil'Jimmy Meredith.  He is being put out to pasture in a field church.  Rod McNair finally got his competition out of the way. Imagine now living life as a nobody instead of the favored child of the dear leader.

Dear Brethren,
Below-freezing temperatures have come to the Carolinas over the last few days—a refreshing change after a long, hot summer! Mr. Gerald Weston is still travelling, and will be conducting a Regional Conference in Joplin, Missouri this weekend. As December begins, here in the office it’s budgeting time as the Accounting Department works with the different departments to map out the budgets for 2019. Parents, please note that we are posting new Children’s Bible Lessons each week on the lcgeducation.org website, for three different age levels. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Meredith are moving to Knoxville, Tennessee next week to take up their new responsibilities there—we wish them well on their new assignment. Please continue praying for Mr. Martin Fannin, and note the encouraging update about Mrs. Connie Breaux below! And I look forward to seeing all you brethren in Helena and Great Falls, Montana for a church visit and TWPs this weekend.—Rod McNair

McNair sneaks in:
"Mr. and Mrs. Jim Meredith are moving to Knoxville, Tennessee next week to take up their new responsibilities there—we wish them well on their new assignment."

LOL, Yep! And that's how it is done. "We wish them well..." is the kiss of death in the ministry. Well and for anyone disfellowshipped.

I know almost nothing about Jim's time in Charlotte, but I knew and liked him when he was in California.
If he stays the same likable and personable guy I knew then, the folks in Knoxville will be happy to have him.

That's not very far from Charlotte.

@ 7:33 AM, after Jim came to Charlotte, he made a point of telling the brethren again and again just how much he would prefer not to be in the Carolinas. Now his long-expressed desire has been fulfilled, so he had better not be ungrateful. Another benefit is that in Knoxville, Jim will be very close to his father-in-law and sister-in-law, which will also be wonderful for his wife Susan.

@ RSK, it's strange. Jim is "exiled" but only as far as Knoxville. Wyatt Cesielka is "exiled" but only 100 - 150 miles to the eastern part of North Carolina. It's as if someone wants to get them out of Charlotte but also to be able to check up on them easily.

Charlotte to Knoxville is only 242 miles, so not far away and perhaps a 3.5 hour drive.

Eastern Tennessee is beautiful country with some really nice people everywhere. If this is an "exile" there are a heck of a lot worse places to be put at! They didn't send him to Buffalo, Newark or Detroit for example.

I had a bosses son in a previous workplace. He was treated with kids gloves. He got away with behaviors that would not have been tolerated from others. Unsurprisingly, he was like a schoolboy, lacking respect for others rights.

BTW the picture is not Jim Meredith- must be a new council member- the previous one in 2017 gave all the names and the person shown was not in it.

Nepotism is always tough on everyone, especially to the beneficiary of it who must work doubly hard to gain everyone else’s respect, if he is even serious about the opportunity which has been given.

But, seems like it usually went especially bad within Armstrongism, most likely because it was already such an abusive system.
