Dave Pack Has To Move His Goal Posts After Jesus Fails To Return On Passover and Night To Be Much Observed

By now none of us should be surprised at the mental diarrhea that leaks out of Dave Pack's brain anymore. Week after week, month after month, year after year, he has been feeding his members some of the most absurd bullshit imaginable that they think is coming from God. Every time he opens his mouth the goalposts are changed, timeliness redefine, and dates clarified with "new understanding". Each and every time it has been an outright lie.

Just when you think he can't bet any crazier, he now says that the Feast of Tabernacles is a reenactment of Passover. So in effect, you are celebrating Passover every six months!

The RCG source for this states:

Gotta give it 5 🌟 at this highlight for HOW BAD it is: "IN FACT, the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles in the fall is actually a RE-ENACTEMENT OF THE PASSOVER so that God in effect has THIS Feast kept every six months, not just every year."

Here is Dave's latest:

The full update:

"Greetings from Headquarters during the most important time of year!

We trust you had as profitable a Passover as we did here. By now all God’s people worldwide in RCG (and all other groups) have had opportunity to take the symbols, and it has BECOME clear this was ALWAYS God’s intent! So much turns on the willingness to remember Christ’s death and a Christian’s attitude while doing so (I Cor. 11:26-31). For MANY REASONS that have also NOW COME INTO FOCUS, this was ALWAYS to precede the days we are awaiting—the seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread. There is STILL GREAT reason to be expectant!

CONSIDER FIRST that we are entering the Night to be “MUCH OBSERVED” (Ex. 12:42)! THIS IS the ultimate day to “guard” in Abib, kept through all Israel’s generations. NEXT REMEMBER that the exodus from Egypt began on the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

Ask: WHAT DAY then MIGHT God start the Kingdom of Israel?

Also recall Christ’s command to “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning…like unto men that wait for their lord…” (Luke 12:35-36). This instruction TO US has unmistakable roots in the Old Testament Passover/Night to be Much Observed! God commanded, “And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded…for I will pass through the land of Egypt this night” (Ex. 12:11-12). Much more could be said here! Now a little more big picture…

The Bible in MANY ways, and in many, many places, is the story of the seven Days of Unleavened Bread! It is these seven days that are referred to variously IN PROPHECY AS: one week—the last days—the evil days—those days—these days—the days come—the days of the Son of Man—and His days. The date of the New Testament Passover simply does not begin these seven days and is in NO way part of them. We were a day early in our watch! Unleavened Bread BECOMES our guidepost, SPECIFICALLY the Night to be Much Observed (Ex. 12:42).

As important as the New Testament Passover is, the Night to be Much Observed was celebrated 1,500 years before Christ’s sacrifice was memorialized, and it will continue through ETERNITY while the Kingdom’s arrival means the New Testament Passover will never be kept again. Of course, both are central—and that is an understatement. But one was ALWAYS intended to be transitory, and the other one eternal in purpose. IN FACT, the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles in the fall is actually a RE-ENACTEMENT OF THE PASSOVER so that God in effect has THIS Feast kept every six months, not just every year. PONDER THIS FURTHER and all of the relevant verses that you can think of while you await tonight, and maybe over the dinner table tonight...

It is easy to imagine that God is waiting for all saints worldwide in all groups to demonstrate that they kept both nights before a decision is made as to WHO STILL REMAINS within God’s Plan.

Brethren, we KNOW our Bibles and God’s Plan. Stay encouraged and focused on the parallels God would expect us to note going into this all-important Feast. Enjoy this special evening unlike ANY other through the year—while looking forward to what God APPEARS poised to do! We cannot think or know the hour—but we are all certainly praying that Christ arrives this year.

In Christ’s service,

David C. Pack"

He really needs an overseer, one with the authentic power to get Dave's performance back to form! The first step should be a mandatory drug test. If it came back negative, then a mandatory psych eval. If that did not provide any insights, a catscan and MRI. And, just for the general annoyance factor, a complete proctological workup. Failing all else, he should be tested for temporal lobe epilepsy, and tertiary syphilis. If all shows as normal, the overseer should organize an intervention.

Because, something is definitely wrong. A sane spiritual leader does not make ridiculous numbers of specific time and date forecasts for the return of Jesus Christ, turn right around after each failure and make another one allegedly to follow in quick succession.

It's the old "in the name of Jesus Christ. I tell you we only have 3-5 short years left," on steroids.

It is due to the fact what Dave has proven over and over. He simply can't fathom being mistaken or wrong about anything. Thus, the constant upgrades revealing he knows, now, even more than last week. He knows nothing and is leading the flock over the cliff.

Waiting to see how long it takes for Bob Thiel to plagiarize this and put it on his blog without credit. He is too big of a wimp to let his readers know he actually reads this blog. I also expect this to claim it is impossible for Christ to return at this time but is still a few years away. 2026 anyone?

PACK RCG NEWS FLASH---

Goalposts now moved to Pluto and soon to the Andromeda Galaxy!

WHAT ABOUT THE TRUTH said...

"PONDER THIS FURTHER and all of the relevant verses that you can think of while you await tonight, and maybe over the dinner table tonight."

First of all, where would the member start in this exercise of pondering in the long convoluted maze of the 7 year, 700 hours plus, 365 sermons? I mean this man has spent multiple sermons and many many hours to build a case for: Passover, 30 days before Passover, NTMO, 7th day of Unleavened bread, the 1335 or 1290 days (February), 30 days before Pentecost, Pentecost itself, Trumpets, 10 days before trumpets, 30 days before Trumpets, Atonement. Feast of Tabernacles, 1st day FOT, 2nd day FOT, 3rd day FOT, The Last Great Day, Christmas, New Years Eve/Day.

Secondly, Dave Pack once again found a way to interject himself right in the middle of a act of worship unto God. Dave wants his membership to ponder all "his" words on this Holy night even right up to and then through the meal. So instead of pondering the power of God and HIS great acts of redemption for HIS people on HIS Holy Day, Dave mandates that his membership ponder his electrifying words.

Anyhow, we are now six days away from the whole world sitting down with Christ on the last day of "Passover". I am "pondering" that with my loins girded, and as I write this Dave is probably writing a letter informing his brethren to ponder a completely different scenario and conclusion than what he has laid out these past few weeks.

The RCG membership doesn't need Jesus Christ. They have the "goodman of the house" and "the root of Jesse" Dave Pack. The RCG membership doesn't need salvation from Jesus Christ. They got it from Dave Pack when they dressed themselves perfectly, sold all of their possessions and listened to all of Dave's words and believed them all. The RCG membership doesn't need to reflect upon God or Jesus Christ on their Holy Days because they have Dave Pack's plan of salvation right before them preceding and DURING all of the Holy days.

I have pondered and my conclusion is; I am witnessing the abomination of desolation (that makes desolate) in real time. I have a mountain I can see right out of my window. Maybe it is time to flee?

If Pack has anything physically wrong with him, I'd think temporal lobe epilepsy would be the cause. That type of epilepsy can cause delusional thinking, which can manifest itself as religious fantasies. The founders of two religions were known to have this type of epilepsy. Ellen White of the Seventh Day Adventists' and Mohammed, the prophet of Islam. It would be interesting to know how many other leaders of sects and cults may have had this condition.

NO2HWA wrote, "Week after week, month after month, year after year, he has been feeding his members..."

I would not neglect the complicity of his congregants. They are apparently quite forgiving of "moving the goalposts." My guess is that they live figuratively in a symbiotic relationship with their leader. Both benefit somehow from the relationship. Gotta be that way. Most of us would not be in a congregation like that for five minutes. I wouldn't last through the opening prayer - forget the sermonette.

This Splinter group has a taste for rapidly repeating "Great Disappointment of 1844" cycles. Amplitude may vary but frequency is always high. Its supply and demand. Who can say why. To those of us on the outside, it is a mystery dynamic (in fact, that may be one of its appeals for insiders.)

These predictions remind me of "World of the Psychic" in Ghostbusters 2.

Everything Herbert W. Armstrong predicted is more true today than it ever was before

Another vapid driveby comment there 1:58, but if you believe that, then you should be following him. Just remember, though, that he taught us how to research and prove things in the manner that he learned from Alexander Hislop.

Dave Pack took a similar position, giving Paul's expectations. Dave's claim was that Paul was off by 2000 years, so any (false) prediction made now is 2000 years closer than Paul.

But HWA's forecast of the end times in the 1930s, WW II, 1972 are no "more true" than when he made them.

I prayed before heading to Passover night that if God wanted David Pack to be right for once, and have Him interrupt the service, I would not object at all.

Alas... no.

Members live in a symbiotic relationship with their leader??
You obviously have not read up on abusive cults. People do not join cults. They join groups that turn out to be cults, and gradually have their sense of normalcy twisted. They fall into a trap, and no, they do not benefit from such a relationship. Rather it is very much win-lose, with the leader grabbing all of the chips such as Dave's common doctrine. Readers here would shun these groups because we are aware of the trap or are former victims.
Your point of view smells of blaming the victim.

Anon 8:13 AM, you seem to have forgotten that most people who ever joined Pack's RCG have left Pack's RCG.

The ones who remain are remaining because they gain something from their membership that they feel they would lose if they gave up their membership. That may make them co-dependents with Pack, but they are not simply victims. Some by staying are able to feel superior to apostates like those of us on this board. Some by staying are gaining social status within RCG that they lack outside of RCG. Some stay because they don't want to make the humbling admission that others (like Mr. Denee) have made upon leaving and having to admit that they made some very bad choices that led them to staying in RCG.

There's a reason why Jesus so often counseled humility of His followers. A humble Christian won't put up with Pack's obviously un-Christian behavior in order to feel superior to others, or in order to become God. A humble Christian will not remain very long in RCG.

Now, does Pack exploit people's vanity to get them to stay? Yes. Is RCG a deceptive and destructive cult? Yes. But RCG can only survive because its members are more greedy for what Pack promises than they are humbly devoted to following Jesus' words and example. Most who get sucked into RCG for a while are able to see what it is, and they leave. The ones who stay are in their own way just as un-Christian as Pack, even if from our perspective Pack is exploiting them more than they are exploiting Pack.

Dave proclaims, "There is STILL GREAT reason to be expectant!"

The time-honored reason to be expectant is that you have been screwed. Dave's followers certainly qualify, now don't they?

Actually, he should have said, "There is great need for an expectorant!" Dave's followers should be hissing and spitting, an ancient Jewish way of expressing displeasure with an abomination! Dave is the abomination which makes his members desolate.

Pack has swindled widows out of their homes with his common doctrine. So I find your last claim that these "are in their own way just as un-Christian as Pack" hard to swallow.
Dave's victims might have spiritually fallen away, but that does not give Dave or any other con artist the right to rob these people.
When I attended services, a vile false accusation was made against me. I experienced a zombie horde of members coming at me with the goal of robbing me blind. It's the same garbage reaction that you are justifying.

You are biblically right. For example, WWIII will be a nuclear war. No doubt about that today.
