Crackpot Prophet Still Believes It Is Important To Know Who The Lost 12 Tribes Are

It is still fascinating all these years to see those still entrenched in the myths of Armstrongism that still cling to how vitally important it is to "know" who the "lost" 12 tribes are. For some reason, these prophets of doom and damnation feel knowing this makes their prophetic brain farts more relevant.

For a church that supposedly has its focus on a kingdom to come at some point in the future, they conveniently forget to mention that there is no relevance of the 12 tribe myth in that kingdom.

New International Version

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

This brings us to our favorite prophet who is adept at bloviating about all kinds of useless topics that Christians have no need to worry about. But, Bob being the Bob he is, feels that he is the foremost authority on the 12 tribes, so much so that he has written another useless book on the subject. This book is doomed to epic failure like his Obama and Hillary Clinton books have.

This is what happens when these self-appointed doomers in the church have replaced their focus on the One they should be following with useless crap.

Lost tribes, prophecies, and identifications

Jacob, also known as Israel, gave a “last days” prophecy for his twelve sons in the 49th chapter of Genesis. What did he tell teach one of them? Did all his sons stay in Israel/Palestine? Did the ‘ten lost tribes’ come back? Could some of the lost tribes have been identified as Scythian? What did the Scythians look like? Are the Black Hebrew Israelites correct that the modern descendants of Judah are ‘American Negroes,’ the descendants of Manasseh being Cubans, the descendants of Ephraim being Puerto Ricans, etc.? Were the ancient Egyptians Caucasian or Negroid? What about the ‘Black Pharaohs’? What about countries like Sweden, Belgium Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Finland, France, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, the United Kingdom, and the United States? If Israel had twelve sons, why are thirteen tribes mentioned in the first chapter of the Book of Numbers? Which tribes are listed in the seventh chapter of the Book of Revelation? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more as well as lists ideas about who the descendants of the tribes of Israel are today. He also shows pictures of old historical artifacts which help demonstrate what the ancient Egyptians and Israelites looked like, as well as Jews near the time of Jesus.

The Bible, and history indicate that the so-called "lost" tribes were assimilated. This has not prevented people from developing various theories. If there were any remaining pure blood descendants of the Israelites left back in the 1600s, the Wright Brothers pretty much sealed their fates last century.

I am very curious how Bob is able to pay his bills. He spends such an extravagant amount of time on his religious hobbies. When does he work? Where does his income come from? How does he generate enough cash to support himself and his family? Certainly not from book sales and tithe-paying African church hoppers.

Bob makes his money peddling holistic vitamins as cure alls for all ailments. Typical Armstrongite non medicine tripe. At 50-90.00 a bottle for this stuff puts money in his pocket.

How can we trust Bob to tell the truth about the 12 tribes, Mayans, and church history when he lies about his self-appointment as a COG leader and after all of his prophetic failures? Meredith was spot on in kicking him out of LCG and ignoring his admonitions.

He's really triggered by those Black Hebrew Israelites, isnt he?

Interesting, many armstrongites use the eschatologically friendly KJV translation of Genesis 49. Other translations, instead of saying "last days" (which has an assumed application to the end of the world and could not be anything else!) use things like "in the future" or like the ESV, "the days to come". So not so much at some defined period just prior to the return of Jesus, but a general future time. I believe that this is an important linchpin of BI. The major "proof" of identification of the tribes comes from the assumption that this relates to the end of days, and then looking for vague (even contradictory) similarities to the text. It is interesting that "last days" can also refer to the time of the first advent, Hebrews 1:2 and Acts 2:17, so it doesn't have to be the end of the age.

Bob, how would either you or your measly <100 members recognize Jesus? You have never met Him.

Who cares about your stupid lost tribes, an HWA creation, if you have NO IDEA who Jesus is and how to belong to him! As the article said, there is neither Greek nor Jew, slave nor free for all are one IN CHRIST JESUS. You have no idea what that means, do you? Maybe if you would humble yourself just once, ditch the "I'm a prophet, I'm a prophet" nonsense, you just might find that Jesus will fill that blatant hole in your soul and you could become a Christian.

For the 900th time, it is NOT ABOUT YOU!!!! It is ALL ABOUT HIM. I truly pity you and your family.

Article title said "LOST 12 TRIBES". ??

Whaaat? The Jews dont know who , what or where they are??

They must be the 13th tribe, heh. But even then that causes mathematical issues. Of course the Bible account isnt totally consistent on that either.

Had an acquaintance years ago who swore up and down that we black folks had somehow changed history books to make Nefertiti a "Nubian princess" and would constantly harp that the famous bust of her from the Amarna period didnt "look black". I was always asking him to show me these altered schoolbooks and he could never produce them. He had a real fixation on the topic and I dont know why.

The idea that the lost ten tribes went north to what would become Europe is absolutely farcical for a number if reasons. I'll only two of them.

The Biblical record plainly states the king of Assyria exiled the Israelites to his land. He placed them along the rivers of Gozan, in Halah, and in Habor, and the mountains of the Medes. II Kings 17:6. Unless Bob has any proof that the people living in these areas left a trail that ancient historians noted, he has no proof whatsoever that these people migrated north to Europe.

Even if such a migration was possible, why would they want to go to Europe? At that time in history, Europe was an uncivilized, wild place. The Middle East, by contrast, was the center of world civilization. It was only in Roman times that organized, civil societies were created in Europe, Indeed, many of the cities of Europe were founded by the Romans. If the so-called lost tribes were to migrate out of the Middle East, I think they would have gone to a place like China, which always had a high civilization from ancient times. Sadly, such nuisances are lost on someone like Bob Thiel.

It's my understanding that when WW 2 ended, we sought out the Nazi rocket scientists to help us with our space program. We didn't seek out the mentally ill, criminals or low skilled people. Likewise, when the Assyrians invaded Israel, they only took to Assyria the leaders and those who might lead a rebellion against them. Most of the population remained. Those removed were replaced with Assyrians who intermarried with the Israelites. For this reason many Jews didn't want any contact with the "Samaritans" up north. The Lost Tribes were never lost in the first place, only a portion of them who assimilated into the population.
