The accordion is a musical instrument that sucks in air and blows out air. It expands and contracts. You play the keyboard with one hand and press buttons with the other. “Weird Al” Yankovic made a world-famous career playing it, and now David C. Pack of The Restored Church of God is following suit.
"Weird Al" rose to the top creating parodies of popular songs. David C. Pack sinks to the bottom creating parodies of prophetic understanding.
No one else in the history of the Church of God is more "it is," "it is not," "it is," "it is not," and “beginning of the month," "middle of the month," "beginning of the month," "middle of the month," than David C. Pack. We are privileged to witness in our lifetime the biblical accordion played by a human-sized buffoon wearing a tie that we must call “Mister.”
The impossible-to-fathom-it-really-happened “The Greatest Unending Story! (Part 406)” was given to an unimpressed audience on the Sabbath of November 26, 2022. Some RCG brethren are choosing to opt-out of watching it. The Member Services tracking numbers will prove that. Dave is not the ratings superstar he once was.

The watch is no longer day-to-day, meaning they are less comfortable again. The halfway mark IS the new big deal, not just up to it. Maybe Dave’s head cleared up once he digested the turkey, gravy, and beer from the ungrateful, commandment-breaking Thanksgiving supper.

The point is: In 2011, Dave thought he had it all figured out. Eleven years later, he is pitching the same story using his biblical accordion to play you a tune you are paying dearly for.

Dave says his amazing date happened on Christmas 30 years ago as it is this year again. The next one is Christmas 46 years from now. So it seems that this event he holds so dear happening at Christmas happens about every 30 to 46 years max and not once every 76 years.
So if it happened 30 years ago on Christmas. Is happening this Christmas and will happen again on a Christmas 46 years from now, how is this event happening only once every 76 years. It just happened 30 years ago.

Armstrongism was always partially based on conspiracy theories. It was a cheap way of infusing strength into weak arguments. The funny thing is, while some were based on Simon Magus and the RCC back in the day, Dave has concocted an endless chain of conspiracy theories centered upon Jesus Christ and his supposed afiliation with the RCG. The Jesus of the Bible would NEVER be a coconspirator with David Pack!
Go back and watch the section where DCP reveals the supposed date for receiving salvation. When he goes through that part, he can barely keep a straight face himself. You can see him trying to cover up a smirk (which I don't think he had at any other point in the video). After he finishes that line, He pauses and purses his lips as if to compose himself (my guess, from the urge to laugh).
I'm not body language expert, but it would be fascinating to hear one analyze his body language in these videos. My amateur theory would be that DCP himself really knows what he's saying is nonsense and even has a hard time saying it dogmatically with a straight face. I'm sorry, but I don't believe he even believes what he's saying.
Watch the video from marker 00.58 to 1:11. He is clearly struggling to hold in laughter, though the smirk gives it away. If you were seriously announcing what you believed is the most important date in history, would you really be fighting off laughter and a grin while uttering it?

I am a member of the Body of Christ (His church). I will never be judged or condemned for my sins. I can never work for my salvation, because that would nullify the gift given by God, through our Savior. I was sealed and indwelled by the Holy Spirit and am not under the law. God wrote my name on His hand and Jesus wrote my name in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Salvation CAME 2,000 years ago for all who believe the Gospel of His life, death, burial and resurrection. Once again, you prove you are Biblically illiterate (regardless of your claims to the contrary), HWA deceived, foolish Galatian. Good luck in eternity Dave. It will not go well.

DCP is not a victim here. He made his choices, and they were his to make. He is not the byproduct of anything. He agreed with it and over time fueled his own ego and self-absorptive personality with it. He is now doing that, not the victim, but the perpetrator of it on steroids.
Marc has done and is continuing to do a great service in his record keeping of DCP's countless and mistaken notions about everything from his own self being spoken of in the scriptures to his rather crazed view of prophecy. Marc is endeavoring in this time now, as I have done over the past 20 years, to get those stuck in the delusional thinking of their ministers and Apostles to think for themselves and consider that a man who is so often wrong cannot be anywhere near right on much of anything.
Someone needs to teach DCP about preterist views but that's another story. David C. Pack's BAIT & SWITCH Scam
When David C. Pack started his Restored Cash Grab (RCG) cult, he said that he was going to restore all of Herbert W. Armstrong's old teachings from the time that HWA died on January 16, 1986. In fact, DCP was originally going to reprint HWA's old literature and even move to a different country to do it if he had to.
DCP had barley begun to do this when the WCG-PCG copyright court case then spooked DCP, so he decided instead to rewrite the old Worldwide Church of God literature in his own words. Interestingly, DCP assured everyone that Satan would not have him go to that much trouble just so he could go bad in the end. Someone immediately said that Satan would have DCP go to that much trouble.
After using HWA's name to attract HWA's old followers and their wallets, DCP suddenly made up a totally new “common” teaching and started to demand that his followers send him everything they had -- “or no salvation if you don't.”
DCP introduced major doctrinal changes, and deleted some of his own older literature that he had originally written and used to attract HWA's followers to his RCG cult. Older RCG cult literature with lots of so-called “proofs” got deleted and replaced by endless sermon noise full of even more so-called “proofs” of DCP's latest teachings.
DCP originally talked about bringing responsible understanding rather than reckless speculation, but later totally dumped all responsible understanding and fully embraced reckless weekly speculation.
DCP originally told his followers that he wanted RCG cult members to be the most knowledgeable people of all among the COGs, but then later turned them into some of the biggest fools around.
It was all simply a truly satanic Bait & Switch scam.
I wouldnt be here except I saw Marc on Dawn Blue and he reeled me in. I immediately reached out to him and have had some marvelous conversations that must now number in the dozens. I quit attending church regularly in 1992 while I was still attending AC. i was 19 and pulled off not attending for almost two full years at AC except during basketball season when we had to attend on the road. An amazing feat honestly that Im really proud of. There was no way around not going when the team traveled on the road so I dont count that part lol. My senior year I got busted but by then I was ready to leave anyway so off I went.

When my younger brother, sister and brother in law were on payroll at RCG i was most of the time disowned and not communicating with any of them. I thought they were all nuts frankly but family is family so there was some occasional visits again in around the time mom died in 2008? It was a tough time for me but not because of the church more like just normal family drama just compounded by the church thing.
From 2011-2015 about the only contact was when DCP would travel once a year to see my kids on a trip hed plan? He would visit the house for a few days but stay in a hotel. When my brother, sister, and brother in law left RCG I gave them the same advice Im giving Marc. Walk away from ALL OF IT!! If they had stayed with the COG movement after they left I would still have no relationship. Im glad thats not the way it worked out and they now believe more along the lines of what I do altho i wouldnt want to speak for any of them.

Now, the original comment is deleted and I did not take notes. I have had many hours-long phone calls with Sundown Kid and we get along quite well. I appreciate his personal acknowledgements here. We have a mutual respect for each other's circumstances despite the text that has been since deleted. He wrote me privately to give me a "heads up." He is a good guy still processing his pain.
The truth of this website, exrcg.org, and Sundown Kid all point to the same thing: A lot of people have been deeply hurt. Some blame the whole "COG system," some blame HWA, and some blame just DCP.
The reason I expose DCP for what he says and does is because I fully believed he taught the truth when I joined RCG in 2012. I moved to Wadsworth. I gave my Common. I sacrificed for over 8 years. I worked for them with all my might for over 8 years. The Bait & Switch in action. Not cool.
Gary and Dennis at some point believed The Worldwide Church of God was the right place.
I believed The Restored Church of God was the right place.
But no more.
DCP held the banner for HWA but slowly began to walk away from his own teachings. He has recently reduced HWA to being "a generous 5% correct" with his prophetic understanding. Prophecy and "core teachings" are intertwined despite what some would claim. Especially when you say who we are waiting for. The folks in RCG are now waiting for Elijah to be raised. Yikes.
We are waiting for God to elevate DCP first. Now, corrupt prophecy teachings corrupt God's plan. DCP has reversed his own literature. DCP has reversed his own words.
I focus on DCP because he DID teach the truth, but turned his back on it, claiming the titles of Jesus Christ for himself. He is a false apostle. A false prophet. A false christ. A human idol.

The problem I have with Sundown Kid is that he is not here to process his grief or help people that have been betrayed by his father, his son is here to twist the blade that his father DCP plunged into God's people. They are weak spiritually when they realize the depth of that betrayal and it takes years to find your footing again. He's here to convince them that Christmas or atheism is the way to go and I'm going to do my best to protect the brethren.

That kind of talk just doesnt resonate with me. Simple as that. We dont need another leader in the splinter movement ordained or not and this is what that sounds like.
But I can read a room. I'll drop it. I have no interest in petty insults and whatever healthy discussion Id hoped to start about that aspect of your writing I will leave to others.

The Satan-sent, Satan-directed FALSE PROPHETS like Gerald Flurry and David Pack were sent AGAINST former Worldwide Church of God people to deceive, trap, rob, betray, discourage, and destroy them, not to help them at all. There was definitely some STRONG DELUSION involved.

I think there are at most 4 different people that attacked you on this thread, primarily 1. Don't take it to heart or bow out just because of that.
It saddens me when some that leave the COGs are so demoralized and disillusioned that they become agnostics or atheists. But, most in the COGs were not introduced to the depth and totality of the Gospel, marginal understanding at best. So, I still tell them to give Christianity a try.
The problem is that while I concur with TSK's position that Armstrongism is an unredeemable system, I suspect Marc wants to avoid that in his ex-member counseling because it'd lessen his immediate effectiveness in helping people - they'd want to quibble about doctrine instead of the immediate issues with RCG.

Exposure to non-cog Christians helps. NOw, I know it's been in our COG nature to point out the faults of Christians outside the COGs so as to deny their being "real" Christians, but, You will eventually come to see that the genuine care and sacrifice they (or some) often exert in easing others' burdens and the fellowship they provide may actually be the Faith the Lord is looking for rather than distinguishing yourself by what you eat and the day of the week you warm a seat. In fact, millions of Sabbatarians do that, but, I know, they disqualify themselves by not keeping the holy days. Well, some even do that (including Messianic Jews), but, I know, they still disqualify themselves because they don't apply the same prophetic meaning to those holy days that the COGs do.
Gotta have it down perfect to be a real Christian. Though, I suppose keeping Pentecost on a Monday until 1974 was okay since Herbert Armstrong said so at the time. But, is that right? I mean, what if you died before Herbert Armstrong changed Pentecost to Sunday? Were you in rebellion against the Law like all the other so-called fake Christians?
In my experience, those that claim Christianity have generally been "good people" that serve FAR better than those in the COGs. But, I know serving is easily dismissed by the COGs because the COGs believe they are the only real Christians and that God isn't working with those outside the COGs, so why should those in the COGs do so!?
Sorry, the cognitive dissonance just got to me. My point is that the more you have real relationships with non-Cog Christians the more readily you will see that they have a real Christian faith, but that really isn't what the COGs want someone to see.
