One thing is for sure in Armstrongism, there is always a crackpot self-appointed prophet of god lurking in the wings to step in and share their hidden knowledge. No matter how wild, crazy, or foolish that assumed knowledge is, they know for a fact the date of the millennium, the return of the creature they call "Christ".
This time it is not Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, or even God's most highly favored servant, Bob Thiel. This time it is that other crackpot prophet, Wade Cox. Cox was the original crazy COG leader before Pack, Flurry, and Thiel hit the scene with their weirdness.

News flash, Wade....The 2300 days were completed already. Jesus Himself, in John 10:22 ffv, describes attending the Feast of Lights, or Hanukkah. Read the Book of Maccabbees before you mislead anymore people. The temple was restored after it was desecrated by Antiochus.

Cox was the precursor to Bob Thiel. They both are identical in their theology and their narcissistic self-aggrandizement. Both lie about their self-appointment as if God placed them in other positions. Their doctrines are heretical garbage. Cox is infatuated with Muslims and Thiel with Catholics. Both claim to have thousands of followers in Africa, yet they both poach off each other and the SDA/Sabbatarian groups that proliferate there. Cox has a dubious military record while Thiel has a dubious theological education, which is a little more than Cox has considering all he has is COG-related junk to send him off in outlandish directions. Both pull scripture interpretation out of their asses and are no more followers of Christ than Pack and Flurry are.

Anon @ 12:37. Don't forget our flower girl Bob also has a military history. Despite his grand pronouncement of "thou shall not go into the military", little Bob did just that! Do as I say, not as I do. The unspoken theme of the COGs. To be fair, I imagine his military service was before his "conversion", not to mention his "double blessing" and "appointment" to the office of prophet. Yeah, right!

This timeline is very helpful. It will help me plan and be sure have the time off when prudent to do so.
What if the Book of Revelation is only one of the many apocalyptic writings dating back to the first century? There is considerable scholarly evidence that the Apostle John didn't write Revelation, so what if all the weird symbolism in the book was only intended for its day and has nothing to do with the so-called "end times"? If that is indeed true, then what does that mean for this incredible obsession with the thousand year millennium along with the never-ending series of crackpot prophets that this obsession has produced? Sounds heretical to question the divine inspiration of a convoluted book that no-one can possibly understand, but that hasn't stopped the latter day prophets from trying.

Over the weekend a few YouTube critics commented on degrees of religious figures: two at creation science organizations, and one at an unaccredited bible college. One was accused of a diploma mill PhD with a poorly written, error-ridden thesis, and the others for having PhDs in fields unrelated to what they were presenting.
Bob's case is similar: he has a diploma mill ThD in Church History, and a genuine PhD in Nutrition Science. Bob exclusively flaunts the PhD after his name, never the ThD, even on the Church History booklets. Is he using the PhD just to show he's smart? Being a nutrition scientist certainly doesn't support his claim to being a prophet, church founder, or ordained overseer, buy it may help his status as a pill peddler.

He may have fooled 150 Caucasian folks, but he is most assuredly, NOT an MD or a prophet. His members should read the article here on his mysterious ThD. Accurate, fair and proof positive that he is a phony..if, as Bob always says, they love the truth!
