Apostle Declares That God Has A Physical House In Edmond Oklahoma

Oh those fun boys at the Philadelphia Church of God cult compound!  It's hard to tell what wackiness they will come up with, but they have just dropped another big one.

God apparently has a physical house located in Edmond Oklahoma, on the PCG cult compound of course.  God has an earthly temple which is the Herbert W Armstrong Auditorium.

As usual, Gerald Flurry does not have an original thought in his alcohol riddled brain.  His earthly idol Herbert Armstrong, said the aome thing decades ago.  The Ambassador Auditorium (God's House)  was filed with almost every kind of debauchaery you could imagine.  Sex romps (gay and straight), drugs, alcohol fueled parties, mate swapping, and even stories of demons running rampant.  Word has it that the HWA Auditorium is also getting its share of gay and straight sex, alcohol, and demon problems.  If  the Ambassador Auditorium could do it, why can't they!
In recent years, God has been getting the minds of His people focused on the millennial temple prophesied in Ezekiel 40-48. Today, in the hall of administration at the Philadelphia Church of God headquarters, is a model of the Ezekiel temple. (You can read about this in our booklet Ezekiel: The End-Time Prophet.) This temple—like Armstrong Auditorium, God’s physical house today—points us forward to new Jerusalem, and the dazzling future it represents.
Flurry and crew have been writing all kinds of articles to train member all about the Jerusalem temple and all of its accouterments.  Part of that training is talking about the Ark of the Covenant. The Flurry cult are currently under the delusion that they will find it buried in a hill in Ireland.  They then will put it on display for the whole world to marvel at.  Since God currently lives in the HWA Auditorium you can be guarantees that PCG would put it on display under the gold inscription in the lobby.

See  Does Joel Hilliker Dream of Finding the Ark of the Covenant?
Also see: Bob Thiel's asinine belief that HE will be the discoverer of the Ark of the Covenant.

Continue in verses 21-22. God’s voice emanated from between the cherubim above that seat. Remember: Today, the veil is gone, so when you come to the incense altar, you are right there before the ark and mercy seat, where God’s voice is! God communes with His people from there daily!
Take another peek into God’s heavenly throne room in Revelation 11:19. There we see the real ark! “This is God’s temple in heaven. There is an ark of the testament or covenant there, in the midst of lightning and thunderings and earthquakes—a very impressive sight. First, there was the ark in heaven. God had Israel build a physical ark patterned after the ark in heaven. It was a symbol of God’s rule on Earth as in heaven. … There were two physical cherubs with outstretched wings over the ark, or God’s throne. That is the way it literally is in heaven” (ibid).
This verse in Revelation “pictures the ark as playing a key role in Christ’s rule over the nations. This is a prophecy. God is going to administer His law and feed the world with great abundance, physically and spiritually. Almost immediately, the world will be introduced to the ark after Christ returns. God is preparing us now to teach about the ark. We must understand this vital subject. The ark of the covenant is for the whole world” (ibid).
Notice the prophecy in Jeremiah 3:16. This suggests that sometime soon, the ark will be discovered and put on display where people can “visit it.” Even so, not long after that, people will not talk about it anymore, or even remember it. The ark is just a symbol of God’s rule on Earth. But the time is coming when that rule will actually be here! You no longer need the symbol when the real thing manifests on Earth.
Flurry and crew have new commission now.
It is to teach the entire world about the TempleRead about Ezekiel’s temple in Ezekiel 43:10. “God commands us to show the world this temple, and the government it represents—in detail!” Mr. Flurry wrote. “Then the people of Israel and the world will see that the way God manages His government is vastly different from anything in the world today. When they see how Gods government will work and how the problems of this world will be solved, in time they will be ashamed of how they have been defiant toward the living God!” (Jerusalem’s Temples).
Notice our responsibility in verse 11. Our job is to support God’s apostle in showing people all the details about this temple—including all its ordinances and laws. How much do you really know about the ordinances and laws of God’s sanctuary? Mr. Flurry said this is a commission we have to complete before the Tribulation! We have to publicize these details in a way that is vivid and memorable enough for it to make a lasting impression.
There seems to be no end to the stupidity that comes out of the Church of God anymore. Even worse is that there are gullible people that still believe it is all true!

"The Most High does not dwell on a house made my Human hands..." Acts 7:48

Flurry must have spent all of his time at AC swilling endless 40 oz bottles of cheap beer instead of learning the Bible. These "ministers" are not even qualified to be selling shoes at Wallmart - let alone direct the lives of the PCG members. Not ONE minister has ANY real training to manage anything. Steven Flurry dropped out of college and he is DEAN OF ARMSTRONG COLLEGE!?!!?

Don't any of these COG leaders have an original thought. Pack said the same thing about his compound years ago, calling it "God's Kingdom on earth." Just imagine the temple that could be built for God if all these groups came together. Of course, they could build it in Waco, TX.

Comment was made mentioning the following evil thought: "...In recent years, God has been getting the minds of His people focused on the millennial temple prophesied in Ezekiel 40-48..."

Why would God be so stupid to do such a thing about some Mickey Mouse Millennium (MMM) as if it would be something to be established soon, because Flurry's MMM is built on sand. Go read the scriptures cited! That temple is something that cannot occur until Satan is loosed from that bottomless pit.....and that won't be for a long, long, time from today!

No wonder people like New Englander Jim Baldwin is into atheism! He saw through some of that stupidity, that junk food, which Flurrites pass along as what they think is "strong meat," but it is not nourishing. It is stupid. It is a lie and is not to occur "soon!" It's Flurry's MMM! It is the xcog's MMM!

Another stupid comment was made saying: "...This verse in Revelation “pictures the ark as playing a key role in Christ’s rule over the nations..."

Revelation 11:19 says: "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail."

And the previous context mentions God's wrath, which takes place AFTER the MMM, AFTER Satan is loosed from the bottomless pit. The wrath of the Lamb is something else, a different wrath, and occurs BEFORE the MMM. Even the 7 Vials/Plagues are for AFTER the MMM.

How many times does the Bible have to tell those individuals like Flurry, i.e., the xcog leaders (Like Hulme, Pack, Thiel, Meredith, Robbins, Kubik, Ward, and other former New Englander (NE) leaders such as Rogers, Franks, Suckling, Winnail, or even some current NE leaders Arnaldo, Kendall, McLeod, et al) that Jesus Christ is to be at the Father's right hand until when? Some time AFTER that MMM!

To say Christ's return to reign on earth for a MMM is soon to occur is a lie! It is a theory built on satanic sand. Who is the father of lies? Are they all unknowingly following their father.....that father of lies?

When is Jesus Christ coming? Jesus needs some help:

Psalm 110:1 “The LORD said unto My Lord, Sit thou at My right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”

Enemies need to be FIRST MADE that "footstool!" Has that happened yet? So, where is Christ supposed to be until that happens? At the Father's right hand! What else is there to say? DUH, maybe?

Are there any other verses saying similar things, that all of these xcog leaders are seemingly blind to?

Matthew 22:44 “The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?”
Mark 12:36 “For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
Luke 20:42 “And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
Acts 2:34 “For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.”

And there are a lot more.

What is the last enemy?

1st Corinthians 15:26 “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”

Oh, that enemy will still be impacting people's lives AFTER the MMM, AFTER Satan is loosed from the pit (Heb 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.")! Where was Jesus Christ?

At the Father's right hand.

And time will tell...

John

Chances are he'll just solicit funds from his gullible followers and build an AotC. Probably use George Lucas's version as the base model.

Henry Bemis above:

That is the name of the character on the old Twilight Zone episode portrayed by Burgess Meredith who played an incessant bookworm who worked at a bank. He is in the vault when an end time nuclear blast hits the world, and it allows him to survive. Everyone else is dead, but he discovers that the local library is somewhat intact. The twist to the story comes when he accidentally breaks his very thick glasses that he wears , making him unable to read anything!

So many beautiful things that portray God... Yosemite, Yellowstone, The Alps, the night sky, a sunset, the ocean and God needs a gaudy building in Oklahoma? Nonsense! He states as much in scripture!

To Real Christians still in PCG(or RCG):

Please consider scriptures like these:
1. I Cor 3:16 "...don't you know that you are God's Temple and the Spirit of God
dwells in you"
2. II Cor 6:16 "...for we are the Temple of the Living God. ..For God has said
I will live among them and walk among them . ."

3. Acts 7, Stephen's defense, that God no longer dwells in physical buildings
made by men.. As quoted above in this blog, too?!?!?

... so many more verses about God's Spirit and overcoming. . . .

Now consider:
1. Why are you constantly pointed to physical relics?
2. Did God EVER command we idolize a "prayer rock" . .?
3. Why are there all these "shrines" and Armstrong pictures ?
4. When you and I stand before Christ for judgement(Read Matthew 25 !!),
does HE divide the Sheep from the Goats by:
A. Knowing a physical building
B. Bowing to a physical relic
C. Idolizing a man?

Are you being made into Catholics (sorry, they worship relics a lot)
and you even don't know it??

they spend all of their time preaching prophecy and they don't know how to live properly, because they never study that.

sad.

More alternative earth history badly written science fiction.

Not much of a market for it.

A lot of writers -- especially science fiction writers -- who were alcoholics made it; many did not.

Flurry is of the 'did not' variety and self-publishing is his only option. Unfortunately the market for his kind of stuff has dried up.

Well, it's nice that they would dedicate these things they build to God, or to give God credit for them. However, they use them as indicators that they have authority and dominion over their members and others, and to create the aura that they are the gatekeepers. It's all to support their bogus gospel message that Jesus is going to return to establish Armstrongism as God's government of God on earth for all eternity. This is what makes them feel so special. But, in the end, they are nothing more than a bunch of clueless posers blindly playing a game of Bible, having allowed HWA to set the rules, and Gerald Flurry to modify them.

If I was God, Edmond OK would certainly be the number place I would want to be at(Not). Perhaps Mr. Flurry could make this a tourist destination, by announcing to the world God lives here and nowhere else. Run away as fast as you can, if you are a member of this nutjob's church. No good can come of this.

It is so hard to come out of these groups once you are in one of them. They preach fear and submission to their government. And the fear of losing your salvation, or you are going against Christ, if you even think about questioning their all knowing ideas. Then they spend all they can to build "shrines" to follow the grand pattern. Always asking for more and more. Tithes, offerings, special offerings, common, fundraising, no retirement, scrip, bake sales, free labor, etc.

I was going to comment on Flurry's wild interpretation of Jeremiah, but I really don't have to. Flurry's been shamelessly manipulating the old prophets' words for decades.

12.33 PM well put. You get many naïve comments here to the effect of 'why don't they just leave?' It's not that simple. Many times in the book of Psalms, it mentions evil people setting traps. The traps can be physical, as in a war scenario, or psychological as practised in these churches with their mind control techniques. Leaving can be very difficult.

The ministers believe that the talents that Christ gives to every person in the parable of the talents, rightly belongs to the ministers. Hence it's hardly surprising that they rarely mention Christs name. Rather they endlessly sing Herbies name with his 'government is everything' mantra, ie, all talents belong to the ministers.
According to these churches, exercising any personal rights is robbing the ministers.

In order to NOT BE A MORON when "playing a game of Bible", one must acknowledge that the Bible is NOT THE WORD OF GOD!

Connie, when I put the WCG teachings together with the Twilight Zone, I mostly think of episodes like "kick the can", where if members believe hard enough it will come true.

That episode's actually not much different than how many ex-WCGers believe.

Here's another-
It's the "It's a Good Life" episode, where a megalomaniac boy could 'wish people into the cornfield'.

Is that much different than how Herbie screwed with people, with his 'The Lake of Fire'? thingy?

Problem was the people believed it.

The good news is that, that stupid shmupid Lake of Fire is pure Biblical fantasy!

Flurry seems to be driven by a desire to be considered a "great man" in others' eyes. I do not know him, and have never met him, but I wonder if he was annoyed that he never was promoted beyond pastor in WCG. Maybe he's just prone to getting carried away in fantasy, but his penchant for bombastic pronouncements is quite amusing.

It was actually called "It's a Good Day".

It was actually called "It's a Good Day".

"It's a Good Life" is episode 73 of The Twilight Zone.

Is "It's a Good Day" a herb-a-rific church related episode, like when Herbert condemned his wife to death by not getting her proper medical attention?

"Can't poop, you old crotchety bitch? BAZINGA!
I got a young bitch who likes to poop all over me! Time will tell how that works out."
