Be Thankful

Probably why some COG leaders are so opposed to Thanksgiving.

Some COG leaders are opposed to Thanksgiving for the same reason that they are opposed to birthday parties. That is, members lives are cheap. It's a crime that they are alive, and less of a crime if they blindly obey their ministers, and serve hand and foot minister boot lickers. As the God's Chosen Apostle HWA often wrote, "beware of the evil of self esteem."

The Turkey thought it was looking at the Weather Report. "High today 350 degrees from 1 to 4 PM. He said, "That doesn't seem right..." :)

Another was told by a fortune teller, "I see you surrounded by family soon. Well, not yours"

Some COG leaders do not like Thanksgiving because it makes people happy and they spend money on a large meal. COG members are meant to be kept miserable so they can work out their own salvation through misery and atonement instead of being joyful in the Lord. Money wasted on food should be sent in to keep the leader happy.

I tend to think about Native Americans on Thankstaking Day, and what my cruel and misguided ancestors did all those years ago.

I tend to think abut the constant slaughter that Native Indian tribes did with each other before the whites showed up. Violent and murderous just like their ancestors.

Anything mainstream is taboo to some of the ACOG fraud ministers. False quacks like Flurry,Pack and Thiel can't stand it if they are not the center of attention and don't want members to have strong family connections because they see that as a threat. In the Tangled Web book, you can read how HWA was upset that there was bigger crowds for GTA than himself at the feast sites. I remember HWA going ballistic in St.Pete Fl one year about people going to the bathroom or women taking their children to the mother's room during his "all important sermon." He proceeded to harangue the crowd for 2+ hours, then saying the same thing and rambling on and on. HWA was a False Apostle who committed incest.

Watched a documentary on slavery recently. Was surprised to hear about the brutality of Native Indian tribes against their fellow neighbours.
Slavery was the norm and it was savagery at its worst.
Slavery was rife amount the Europeans, white on white slavery. Indeed its history is not race based at all. And it was only in the late 1700 and early 1800s that man had the means to transport thousands of black slaves from Africa to the new world.
Thomas Sowell shines a little light on this issue. Slavery was lastly abolished in Africa just in the last decades in North Africa.
European migration to the America’s halted Indian tribal slavery practice. Unfortunately slavery gained traction in the Democrat ruled south.
The rest is history and a blight on humanity.

Unfortunately, millions ate still enslaved worldwide. Countries like the Sudan still practice slavery. Humanitarian societies buy many of these slaves freedom as a practical solution. Many women in Eastern Europe are lured to work as secretaries in western Europe, only to be enslaved as sex workers. Their parents are threatened with death if they try to escape. The 2008 movie 'Taken' is based on this present phenomenon.

But, 1:31, the Dixiecrats were conservatives! If they existed today, we would refer to them as "DINOs"

‘DINOs’………..lol.

Actually the northern Republicans were the conservatives, definitely not the Dixiecrats, they were the forerunners of today’s modern left.
The Two Faces of Janus by James Gregor,
The Big Lie, Exposing the Fascist Roots of the American Left by Dinesh D’Souza,
both great reads.

Dude, you really need to read up on the Dixiecrats. That's all I'm going to say.

You guys are allowed to celebrate Thanksgiving but you must not get carried away it like with parade and turkey how about instead of having a feast you just take the day off to spend the whole day praying to God? Something to think about.

8:06 "...how about instead of having a feast you just take the day off to spend the whole day praying to God? Something to think about."

Talk about being pharisaical! This is something that not even you do nor will you ever do so in this physical life. To say you do makes you a lair. While we are to praise God daily instead of just on Saturday, people are expected to live normal lives as they do so and that includes going to or watching parades, playing football, watching a football game, and cooking a feast for family and friends.

Are there any pet owners in this thread? Think about your relationship with your dog. Sure, you like it when your dog fawns all over you, gives you lots of licks and snuggles and when it responds to your petting. But you also like it when your dog ignores you for a while and goes exploring, or plays with other dogs, or enjoys a nice afternoon nap.

Would you like your dog better if it stayed at your heel 24/7? Of course not! Yet that's what some posters here think is the ideal relationship between God and His creation. God doesn't spend eternity worshipping Himself, and He created us in His image, so why would anyone other than a sick narcissistic Pharisee assume God wants us to set aside the creativity and inquisitiveness He gave us, as well as our capacity for relationships, and instead relate to Him alone?

This analogy works even better for cat owners, by the way.

Excellent comment 3:06. I had never thought of it this way before, but this is spot on!
