For decades we have heard Herbert Armstrong shout about a warning message to the world. Later, after hundreds of ministers and soon-to-be church leaders apostatized from the mother church, they started spouting the same message. Their excuse was they needed to start a new church to warn the world because the church they came from had failed to do so.
John included this sentence in a comment to a post on another thread "Gerald Flurry Denies They Attack Other Religions":
What warning message? Anyone paying attention? This is 2024-how many more years does Flurry need for warning anybody? Whose way of life is wrong? The world's? The Flurryites?
John is right to ask, "What warning message?" 99.99999% of humanity has no idea who or what a Church of God is or what its message is. No one cares who Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, Bob Thiel, or Gerald Weston are. Their messages have no impact and no warning reaching the world. Most end up being like Bob Thiel parked in a home office thumping their underdeveloped chests on how great they are instead of focusing on Jesus.
Ask people, including Muslims, Buddhists, and those of other religions what Christianity represents and they can tell you that the focus is on Christ. Ask a person in the world who or what a Church of God is and you will get a blank stare. Even worse, ask them, "What is the message of the church"? COG members and leaders will say it's the law, first and foremost, then proper government. Jesus might show up further down the list.
If we are to rely upon Church of God leaders to warn the world about some soon-coming destruction that certain COG leaders lust for, then the world is seriously in deep trouble.
How many more years will be we subjected to the buffoonish clowns leading COG's today?

It's so important to realize that being important is so important to those that are unimportant that those who are unimportant will do all they can to be important and feel important even though they are unimportant.

The COG purpose for warning is not to convert or have any impact but simply to put the information out there so that when destruction comes on the world the COG is not held accountable. The blood will be on the heads of those who perish and not on COG heads.
"Through God's true Church, this vibrant message of His soon-coming world-ruling government is to be proclaimed. This message is not given to convert everyone, but is proclaimed as a "witness" so that when these end-time events actually occur, humanity will understand more quickly." https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/booklets/where-is-gods-true-church-today/content
Whenever you see "as a witness," that means specifically in contrast to making disciples. So from this approach there is no incompetence but only success. As long as the information is being published, response is irrelevant.
And the UCG is not exempt. Their most extreme minister, Darris McNeely is trying to bring back the 1950s into the church. He thinks ministers should do whatever they want and must always be believed.
He has not time for the members and oppresses them. UCG has gone backwards with him in his influential position.

The true gospel of Jesus Christ is really good news. The Armstrong gospel, not so much.
It really is eye opening when God leads you to realize that all the acogs are religious media organizations meant to convince you that you cannot understand the Bible without the official church booklets and guidance from a pastor. If you dare to read it in faith, on your own, apart from the church doctrines, it’s amazing how God’s voice doesn’t sound at all like the voice of these churches.
But the word was going to go forth and reach the ends of the earth before the Lord returns. That word isn’t the Armstrong message. It’s the true gospel of Jesus Christ. And it’s filling the whole earth.
Armstrong evangelism does not prosper because they only preach half of the gospel. And using the term "preach" is a kindness. Basically HWA cheapened the half he actually did preach by making it his "hook", using it to scare listeners into saving their own asses supposedly by submitting to an extra layer of government that he artificially imposed upon them.
