Philadelphia Church of God: Lost In Translation

Soon after the Philadelphia Church of God was forced to pay over $3,000,000 for the rights to publish Mystery of the Ages and to pay for the rights to publish the rest of HWA/WCG's old literature, Gerald Flurry began to subtly start changing things.

He first started with The Mystery of the Ages.  Herbert Armstrong had stated in the book that,

“No prophets are mentioned as having either administrative, executive or preaching functions in the New Testament Church.”

This statement was a big slap in the face for Gerald Flurry as he has declared himself a prophet in the Church of God.  Since Flurry has placed HWA on par with Jesus Christ, it would be a searing shock for PCG members to read that God's greatest man said there were no prophets in the church today, since Flurry has claimed he is one.  Who is a poor PCG member to believe?  Gerald or God's greatest man?

Lil'Steveie wrote in PCG's PGR, Oct. 21, 2004, p. 3-4:

We removed that sentence from the 2003 version, not because we are doing away with Mr. Armstrong’s teachings, but because of what God has added to the Church since Mr. Armstrong died—the revealed truth that there is, in fact, a prophet guiding the Church today who also serves an administrative and executive position within the Church. God did not reveal this to Mr. Armstrong before he died, just as He didn’t reveal the specifics about the Laodicean rebellion—for obvious reasons…

According to HWA, God Himself dictated the book (along with Aaron Dean):

Dear Brethren and Co-workers with Christ:

Since last December I have been working diligently on the LARGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT BOOK OF MY LIFE. IN REAL FACT I FEEL I MYSELF DID NOT WRITE IT. Rather, I believe God used me in writing it. I CANDIDLY FEEL IT MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT BOOK SINCE THE BIBLE. …“We want to reach the largest audience possible with this book. I know you will feel the same way when you read it.

That certainly is a bitter pill for Flurry to swallow.  However, he could care less because most PCG member do not have the sense or intellect to research things on the internet.  They rather would prefer to be blindly led on and lied to by their prophet who can do no wrong.

Flurry has take the editing process even further.

PCG's latest "Lil'Super Boy" Grant Turgeon writes:

EDMOND—For a dedicated group of 45 Philadelphia Church of God foreign language translation department staff members and volunteers, translating is about much more than just cranking out as many words as possible. PCG translators and editors also strive to correct errors in previous translations and achieve complete accuracy.
Apparently all WCG literature was seriously flawed because of Satanic influences while they were translated.  Those errors have to be "correct" to fit the logic of the PCG.

Several translators and editors said the focus on accuracy within their 22-year-old department is heightened due to the fact that most of the Worldwide Church of God translations they inherited are unfaithful to Herbert W. Armstrong’s original style and intent. While they sometimes use faulty wcg foreign-language renditions as a foundation, they always compare their drafts with updated pcg English versions to ensure nothing is “lost in translation.”

WCG translators were so spiritually corrupt that they even changed HWA's book, The Incredible Human Potential! Those men and women who were part of WCG and who translated books and booklets into Spanish, Italian, French, German, Norwegian, Dutch were apparently used by Satan to bring error into HWA's writings.  Flurry declared recently that the Tkach's were "the man of sin" who were satanic.  Since neither man was in charge in the 1970's who was allowing Satan to work in its midst at that time?

Vernier said flawed versions in French and several other languages developed in the late 1970s when liberals took over the Church. Norwegian team leader Joop Roelofszen added that the Dutch and Norwegian translations changed in 1985, less than a year before Mr. Armstrong died.

“I’m nearly done reviewing The Incredible Human Potential; 95 percent of it is right on,” Local Elder Carlos Heyer, a Spanish-language editor, said. He added that “the style of intellectuals is not Mr. Armstrong’s style of all caps, italics and exclamation marks. They doctored the translations into the accepted style.”
PCG feels by their adding to the booklets and "correcting" them they are "putting back" the truth of Herbert Armstrong.  They do admit that the WCG changes some words because HWA's writing's were racist  at times.  PCG does not care about that.  Racism and bigotry is inherent in British Israelism and they cannot touch that sacred cow!

Mr. Heyer said wcg translators also tried to squeeze the Spanish message into the same number of pages as the original English, even though it requires “10 percent more words in Spanish to explain the same thing in English.” They even changed book and booklet titles. For example, The United States and Britain in Prophecy became The Master Key of Prophecy.

Vernier said the same thing happened with French translations. For example, translators axed 22 pages from Mystery of the Ages, eliminating any mention of the 12 tribes of Israel or the Assyrians. Translators supposedly made this major revision in order to make Mr. Armstrong’s message seem less “racist.”

“I know Dutch translations sometimes omitted parts of texts from Mr. Armstrong, just like the English ones,” Mr. Staal said, “mainly after he died, but even before that.”

“Why is there this tendency to help poor Mr. Armstrong communicate in their style?” Mr. Heyer said. “They felt he needed a filter. They took Mr. Armstrong’s punch and pow. We’re putting all that back.”

Gerald Flurry Confirms That PCG Is Buying Property In England So They Can Dig For The Ark of the Covenant in Ireland

If you thought the silliness of Gerald Flurry was starting to come to an end because of declining income and membership, get ready for something unique to Armstrongism.

Gerald Flurry confirmed in the commencement address to graduates at his Herbert Armstrong "college" that the PCG was buying property in England.  They had previously said they were buying parts of the former Bricket Wood campus in Hertsforshire, England.

In his commencement address, Chancellor Gerald Flurry told the audience that HWAC education transcends America, history and time itself, much like the British Empire transcended borders, history and time. “That’s something that inspires and moves us,” he said. “That is, in a nutshell, what Armstrong College is all about.”

Mr. Flurry discussed the college’s intention to open a new campus in Britain and how a beautiful environment, such as a historic estate, is conducive to effective study. “Why establish a new college?” he asked. “Because our education transcends America.”

PCG has an ulterior motive in purchasing property in England.  That motive is based entirely on the widely disproven theory of British-Israelism.   Armstrongism is based solely upon the belief that the 12 tribes of Israel became the American/British nations as wells as most of the European nations.

PCG is now taking that belief even deeper into silliness by stating they will soon start and archaeological dig in Ireland looking for the Ark of the Covenant.  Besides looking to the Ark, delusional Gerald thinks they might be able to acquire the Stone of Scone from Scotland as well!  As if!!!!!!!

There was an announcement made last July 13, 2013 during the PCG Youth Camp at Edmond, Oklahoma about the prospect of the PCG returning to the Bricket Wood, Hertfordshire County, England where the second Ambassador College campus was once situated (1960-1974). Pastor General Gerald Flurry said that they wanted to have another college there and eventually establish an office which would also be used for the planned archaeological dig in Ireland in search of the “ark of the covenant” and the possibility of acquiring the stone of destiny as well. It has not been quite clear though if they are just planning to buy it or has already bought some parcels of the real estate for $6.8 million. But the final deal or negotiation however, would most probably be sealed around September / October 2013 according to their previous estimation, but as hinted at a latter announcement, they suggested an April 2014 timeline. Nevertheless, whatever the date might be, one thing is for sure, the purchase of Bricket Wood shall surely come to pass according to God’s prophecy.
Can delusional Flurry really be that crazy?  You bet!  Part of the reason Flurry wanted the Bricket Wood Campus is because of Dan (yes, the 12 tribes Dan) whom he believes is Southern Ireland.  Flurry feels that he has a "work" to do in Ireland.  Whether he buys Bricket Wood or elsewhere, I don't think the native residents want another American cult in their midst.

Now let us consider again recent Church history: During a Bible study in PCG Headquarters in Edmond Oklahoma, there is one verse that was asked by a PCG minister in Jeremiah 4:15 which reads;
“For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.”(From Mr. Flurry’s sermon titled “Revelation 12”, dated December 08, 2012).
Dan, as Mr. Flurry said refers to Southern Ireland. It was Mr. Wik Heerma, a PCG Headquarters pastor, who asked that QUESTION regarding Jeremiah 4:15, which Mr. Flurry said he himself had some further questions about it. But during that sermon of his, he mentioned that this particular verse gives an indication that a work has to be done in Ireland even emphasizing the possibility of finding the Ark of the Covenant in it. And he also said that the PCG shall be having a feast site in Ireland by 2013.

Eric King Started Out As A Failure in the Seventh Day Adventist Church

A former associate of Eric King sent us this info:

Eric Kings recent preaching to the Worldwide Church goes far deeper than Herbert Armstrong.  King was a Seventh Day Adventist and an apologist/devotee of Ellen G White.  Nothing like leaving the teaches of one debased cult leader to follow the debased teaching of another cult leader!

Being a Seventh Day Adventist Christian I always get asked the question regarding early Adventist author, Ellen G. White; “Wasn’t Ellen White a plagiarist?”

I find that instead of searching out her writings for themselves, most Christians are too relaxed in their own minds about their conclusions regarding what I call, “easy religion”.

Me, along with thousands of Adventist Christians have gained strength, inspiration, and a closer walk with God through the study of her writings. Just as people try to find condradictions in Scripture people search for “hooks of doubt” to hang their hats on when reading Ellen White.

What are you looking for? If you are looking for Truth you can find it. Jesus is not hiding under a rock someplace. As a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian I invite you to look at our teachings and compare them with Scripture. Read, pray, search the Scriptures for yourself. Stop looking for something to “hang your hat on”.  Stand up, get serious about your relationship with Truth, the Christian Truth!

Written by, Eric W. King  Novemebr 12th 2007 and some of this article taken from an ealier article written by Eric on  May 20,2007  Is the Bible a work of plagiarism?

...As a Seventh Day Adventist Christian I have been accused of believing that “good works” can save me because I choose to obey God’s Sabbath, or talk different, eat different, or talk about Jesus when ever I get the chance. Christian Growth

As a Christian Seventh Day Adventist I love the Lord, Jesus Christ. Therefore, I love Truth. Liars and false prophets, save they repent, shall not stand in the judgment.

Note: Since this article was posted I have received verbal and almost physical harassment from some JW’s in my community. Please pray for those stuck in the Watch Tower lies. Thank you The apostate sect of “Jehovah’s Witnesses”

Forget Herbert Armstrong and Mystery of the Ages, King claims that Ellen G Whites, Conflict of the Ages, is a MUST read.

As Seventh Day Adventist Christians we have coined the term “The Great Controversy” to describe the war between “good” and “evil”. And is it not, from our perspective as mortal beings, a “great controversy”? Indeed it is!

Seventh Day Adventist author, Ellen G. White wrote the famous “Conflict of the Ages” series which became a four volume set. The last book in this set is titled, “The Great Controversy”. The preface of the 1950 version, written by the publishers reads:

The present impending conflict, with the vital principles involved, in which no one can be neutral, is simply, lucidly, strongly, set forth.”

The book is well written and a must read for any serious student of God’s word. Now, what is this “Great Controversy” over? It is understood by Scripture that this controversy has to do with what choice we as individuals are going to take in regards to our position on Bible Truth. Are we going to trust God and His word? Or are we going to side with Satan and his group[s]?

Gerald Flurry: I WIll Be Attacked For Saying This...BUT...ExCOG Family Members Are Tools of the Devil!

Gerald Flurry continues his tyrannical hold upon his dwindling flock by placing more fear upon them.  As long as he can keep them scared and fearful of losing their salvation he will have some followers.  Once people open their eyes to the sick, perverted and bastardized message he preaches, then they will be on their way to freedom and restoration with their families.

We will probably be attacked in this area next. People might draw attention to how we disfellowship. The world doesn’t know that the Laodiceans are tools of the devil! Satan is sophisticated in his lying and deceit; he has deceived the whole world! (Revelation 12:9). Satan will surely try to use Laodiceans to say the right thing in order to deceive or discourage us. He has been using them that way ever since Mr. Armstrong died! Do we want to try to bring them into our life? Do we want to defy God’s act of casting them out? Do you believe Satan is unable to deceive you through them?

This is something we need to think carefully about. The Laodiceans have a contagious disease, and it is terminal! We can’t kid ourselves into thinking that Satan can’t get to us through them. Look at what he has done to 95 percent of God’s people.

You can read this sick article here:   Revealing Satan  The best part of the article is to find out that it is a matter of public record that the WCG (Tkach Jr.) declared that the PCG is a "sick form of Christianity."   I can just picture the veins popping in Old Flurry's beet red face when Joe Jr. called him and his cult "sick."

Notice these quotes from the depositions:
Lawyer: “Do you consider the Philadelphia Church of God to be a form of Christianity, albeit unorthodox?”
Tkach: “A very infirmed form.”
Lawyer: “Infirmed?”
Tkach: “Sick.”
