Esteemed LCG Scientist Speaks Out

Who knew LCG had any scientists in their midst.  Take a guess as to who one of these scientists are.  It is none other than our esteemed Chiro/naturo/Eschatology-wizard/2012 authority/Author Bob Thiel!

He writes:

As a scientist, I have long known that proponents of evolution treat the subject more like a religious view than a scientific theory. This is somewhat also what the Ben Stein movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed revealed (see Ben Stein’s Expelled).

Which was?

Scientists who challenge too many claims associated with evolution are shunned by many academic institutions, as there is a tremendous amount of pressure at most “leading” academic institutions to squelch research that is not in support of evolution because it will affect their beliefs.

Evolution, as the explanation for the origin of life, is unscientific and false. It also requires students to accept a belief that violates other known laws of biological science, and it develops a scoffer’s attitude towards truth.

Perhaps I should add that when the world does not end in 2012, around December 22, 2012 I expect scoffers to abound related to prophecy (2 Peter 2-3).

This was all in response to a LCG article on the Tomorrow's World web site The Real God: Proofs and Promises, by Doug Winnail.  I had Winnail as a biology teacher while a student at Embarrassing College.  Talk about one INCREDIBLY boring man!

Winnail writes:

It may come as a shock to you, but our modern, sophisticated, well-educated world has been deceived when it comes to life's biggest questions! The truth about the real God has been perverted and suppressed—not just by atheistic philosophers and secular scientists, but by misguided theologians! This may sound like an outrageous statement, but it is exactly what the Bible revealed would happen, and it is verified by historical facts, as we will see in this booklet.

Winnail needs to look no further than LCG to find "misguided theologians!"  LCG is filled with theologically bankrupt "theologians."  I cannot call them real theologians because none of them have any real degrees in theology..

Winnail continues:

Today, many practice a superficial "consumer Christianity" or "cafeteria religion"—that is, people pick and choose what religious tenets they wish to believe and reject those teachings that do not appeal to their interests. For many people, religious beliefs are often personal, vague, generalized and casual. Levels of confidence and conviction are often rather low. Doctrinal specifics are usually fuzzy. Each person tends to believe what seems to be right in his or her own eyes. This is part of the legacy of the Protestant Reformation—where the individual, not the church or the Bible—becomes the sole authority (ibid., pp. 61–62). As one teenager responded when asked by a reporter about what she thought about God: "God is everywhere. God is in me. I am God." These are, as we shall see, sadly misinformed opinions!

Well if that's not calling the kettle black I don't know what is!  Look at the people who picked and chose what they wanted to believe when they helped for GCG (while on WCG payroll) so that Lord Meredith could move into his new church after WCG had finished defending him in court for his flapping loud mouth.

Doctrinal specifies have changed so many times in LCG it would take numerous posts to list them all.  Like all the various harlot daughters of the great mother church - WCG- LCG looks outside the Bible for much of it's authority.

Check out the article above if you want to read all about the evils of evolution and to be astounded at the awesomeness of LCG's mind boggling knowledge.

Does anyone within these ACOGs look for two very simple things which would be indicative of the church, or body of Christ? One is presence of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. The other is the gospel going out very noticeably, in strength and power. Like leaves blowing in the wind, these two things provide evidence as to where the Ruach is working!

I am amused that Bob Thiel would consider himself a scientist. What ever you may think of his profession, it is not science based. That mail order Ph.d he has, regardless of the field, doesn't help his claim.

Evolution is the hope of the hopeless. A cult of eternal death. Translation, "you're screwed!"

No thanks, its all hatred and no science.

The fool has said in his heart that there is no Creator.

So CARPE DIEM and then CARPE EAT'EM (worms, that is)!

Can't you think of any better dreams than that? If you want to believe a myth like evolution, why not a nice fuzzy one instead?

Why not at least IMAGINE that there's a wonderful afterlife waiting, right? You owe that to John Lennon (may he rest in pieces).

Not to worry,

Isa. 28:18: "And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand...."

I'll believe this instead and then if I was wrong...oh well, I won't know about it, will I?

I prefer to have FAITH in something rather than NO HOPE in NOTHING.

Bob, you are way out of your scope of practice. Educated and open minded to all answers paleontologists do the hard work. They go to the field. They dig in the earth. They hold the fossils and see the context in which they are found.

They do not sit at home reading books about it while juggling three other agendas or having to come up with an apologetic for already drawn conclusions.

I suggest a good long read of:

http://www.amazon.com/Evolution-What-Fossils-Say-Matters/dp/0231139624

Notice Dr. Prothero doesn't even use the word "Dr" in his name. He personally told me that in his experience, those who promote their backgrounds apart from doing the hard work to support their findings, are rarely credible anyway. He is right.

Reminds me of debating Art Mokarrow and DR Ron Moseley in Dallas a couple years ago. I was not aware Mr. Mokarrow was bringing Dr. Ron on stage until it happened. He was introduced by Art as having his Doctorate from Oxford University with studies at Cambridge etc. Lots of time was taken for him to parade his credentials as we sat there. However when he opened his mouth, he didn't seem so educated. Turns out it was Oxford, Tennesee. He had spent a few weeks at Oxford, Eng for a class or so, but was hardly what he made himself out to be.

The Journal carried the snafu very well.

And now...I shall shut the hell up, as Dr. Maynard suggested :)

Sit down before fact like a little child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion. Follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss Nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.
Huxley, Thomas H.

PS It does not matter how emotional we get over the implications of evolution as the source of life on this planet.

Picking the fairy tale or mythology over current scientific inquiry and fact because it feels better is irrelevent to what actually has happened and not what we wish had happened on this planet.

I'd much rather look for truth over a lifetime than think I found it all at 14 or was born into it by chance.

Any church is not going to let the light of science well done and current into the sanctuary. It will always revert to the comfy Bible line...'science, falsely so called.' I can imagine that crack was made in response to someone 2000 years ago wondering if the earth was round instad of flat and not held up on four pillars with a cannopy over it with windows that poured out rain at times. Perhaps someone looked up after church at night and wondered if the stars were not spirit beings at all but suns like ours just very far away. I wonder if some one found a skull in the caves on Mt Carmel where Elijah hid from God, not like ours and wondered not if was a giant, but some other kind of human long ago. (Those skulls have been recovered from those caves now.)

The reason people reject evolution and good science done well is out of fear for the implications of it all. And it is silly to say that Scientists only want to prove there is no God and swap partners.

When science makes a mistake or discovers newer more conclusive evidence on a matter, it admits it , incorporates it all into a bigger picture and keeps moving.

When religion makes mistakes it hopes the congregants never catch on, cover it up and destroy those who brought it to their attention.

It was the church that brought on the Dark Ages and it was science and literature that brought us out of it.

Scientists? Really?

And yet....

The simple science of Genetics uses DNA to prove British Israelism a fraud.

That's science.

They lie to you;
Then they take your money;
Leave you with nothing;
And use pseudo scientists to cover up their lies;
Then they make the whole thing undiscussible.

The irony is infinite: They are saying that evolution is unscientific; we say that British Israelism is unscientific.

All all those false prophecies from their dead false prophet. Oh, dear.

They look to be worthless losers afraid of facing the pain of the truth that they have nothing but rubbish lies.

DARWIN or LOSE: "I prefer to have FAITH in something rather than NO HOPE in NOTHING."

In other words, you acknowledge the truth of the Mark Twain saying, "Faith is believing what you know ain't so." Very courageous. Most people are afraid to admit they they are intentionally deluding themselves.
