I always wonder how long it will take for Church of God false prophets to get all smug and self-righteous anytime there is a report of weather-related issues. Yesterday, the official self-appointed, know-it-all Church of God, Bawana Elijah Bob Thiel, got his homeopathic knickers all in a wad over recent heat, rain, and flooding. He quotes several news articles and says this:
Extreme weather is hitting various parts of the world:As it has for tens of thousands of years. Now, you just have the internet making instant news available which allows COG false prophets to take advantage of it.
He then goes on to quote out of one of his book he self-published:
The Bible repeatedly warns, especially in the Hebrew scriptures, that various sins will result in destructive weather (see Weather Blessings and Sorrows). Weather is not as random as most seem to want to believe.
Back in 2009, in a book that accurately laid out what would and would NOT happen in 2012, I mentioned the following was about to happen:
Considering all of the natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, food shortages, and economic problems in the past few years, perhaps this would be a good time to explain that the Bible shows that these problems were expected to occur prior to the great tribulation. Those outside the Bible have sometimes referred to a time such as this as a time of transition or chaos. …
There will be a generation that will experience end-time events, beginning with “sorrows,” including the Great Tribulation, heavenly signs, and finally the return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:5-34). …
Mark recorded the same account of this time from his perspective:
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” 5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit…” (Mark 13:3–11).
Thus, in both Matthew and Mark it is clear that a time called “the beginning of sorrows” precedes the Great Tribulation.
Notice that in Mark’s account he uses the term troubles. Troubles would seem to include economic and political problems, in addition to those specifically mentioned, such as wars, famines, natural disasters, and pestilences. ..
Odd weather patterns result in food shortages and natural disasters. Matthew 24:7 The world is actually in a berserk transition, as the real age of peace is not yet here. It may be a period of chaos. It is the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:8 (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009)
The above was published because it was consistent with Bible prophecy. We have been seeing odd weather patterns.
Extreme weather should be a wake-up call to repent.
The warnings from the Bible are going out, but many will ignore them. Will you?The people who need to repent first are all of the false leaders, teachers, and defenders of Armstrongism. How can any sane person believe the crap that flows from Thiel, Malm, Pack and all the other professional COG liars out there?

David, a figure of war is associated with the War God Mars and the Magic Square of Mars. David slays a giant with a magic weapon [sling]. Thor is his counterpart in Norse mythology, also associated with the War God Mars and he, also, slays a giant with a magic weapon.
Mark 13 passage was fulfilled in the first century.
The only real question is was it prophecy or as Dennis likes to write "history prophesied".
I have not heard of any synagogues beating people since then, and definitely not today.
I am doing a bit of research on the number 666. The number 666 has 12 factors. As I understand it, this is supposed to be related to the 12 signs of the zodiac and the 12 tribes, 12 apostles, etc. Here are the 12 factors.
1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18, 37, 74, 111, 222, 333, 666
You can check the math here:
https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/math/factors.php
The number 74 is said to be important.
J = 10 (tenth letter of the "English" alphabet)
E = 5 (fifth letter)
S = 19 (nineteenth letter)
U = 21 (21st letter)
S = 19 (19th letter)
Total: 74.

The years 2009, 2012 are history! It is now 13 June 2019, so where is that "return of Jesus Christ" to reign on earth? Virtually all xcog leaders also believe the same thing, but Bobby's "fear religion" is just plain stupid! Why?
Bobby Thiel, and all of those leaders, whether they realize it or not, accuse Jesus Christ and His Father of being liars by not believing Psalm 110:1, which states:
"The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I MAKE thine ENEMIES thy footstool."
Isn't Jesus supposed to be at His Father's right hand until the Father takes care of those enemies? Over a dozen verses in the NT say virtually the same thing: being at the Father's right hand. So, how can Jesus return to reign on earth during Bobby's lifetime? Isn't Satan one of those enemies that needs to be subdued? Death will be the last enemy.
Even at the end of 1,000 years (way off in the future!) Satan comes out of the bottomless pit, people still learn war and a battle will yet occur:
Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years ARE EXPIRED, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
:8 And shall go out to DECEIVE the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together TO BATTLE: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Yes, there will be: "...a generation that will experience end-time events...", but that which will result in "the return of Jesus Christ" to reign on this earth will not happen until way beyond Bobby Thiel's remaining lifetime and death...way beyond Bobby's "end!"
And time will tell...

Uh oh....more codes never yet understood. Is God a Code Talker? Is sending such important information that can either save you or burn you alive something you send in code?
Art Mokarrow chided me at our debate on being so confident in knowing what I was explaining. I asked him did he not write a book called "God's Puzzle Solved!" I told him that when you use those three words in the same title you might be implying you have special knowledge and know it all. He said he didn't mean that. I said then rename the Book.
Puzzles, Codes, Sketchy fulfilments....Not exactly the way to convince that a god is not willing that any should perish but that ALL should come to the knowledge of its truth.
Can hardly wait for the next installment of Code Cracking for Jesus. Just kidding...I can wait.

"The Bible repeatedly warns, especially in the Hebrew scriptures, that various sins will result in destructive weather (see Weather Blessings and Sorrows). Weather is not as random as most seem to want to believe...Extreme weather should be a wake-up call to repent."
It's true that weather is not random. Some weather is fairly predictable, such as hurricanes in hurricane season. In fact, some aspects of weather are very predictable, because it tends to be cyclical. Other weather is about as predictable as it gets, such as Jupiter's Great Red Spot, which is a weather phenomenon that has lasted longer than mankind has had instruments sufficient to observe it.
If Bobby wants to talk about "extreme weather," however, most celestial bodies in the solar system that have an atmosphere tend to have weather that is reliably far more extreme than any you would ever find on Earth, from Venus' incredible heat and sulphuric acid rain, to Mars' dust storms, to Uranus' 900 km/hour winds. And other solar systems have even more extreme weather, such as what you'd find on any Hot Jupiter.
Earth's weather tends to be rather mild and copacetic as far as weather goes. If "extreme weather" is caused by "sinning" and is a reliable indicator that Jesus is on his way, then I'd have to guess that our "sins" here on Earth are really pretty tame in comparison to the "sinning" you'll find going on just about anywhere else in the universe. I don't even want to THINK what the inhabitants of Hot Jupiters are getting up to. (I guess you WILL find even more wretched hives of scum and villainy than Mos Eisly after all?) Apparently, the god of the Hebrews is pulling out all the stops to get the very non-Hebrew alien sinners on Hot Jupiters to repent. (Haven't heard the theory of Alien-Israelism espoused by any of the splinters yet, but I'd bet it's only a matter of time...those pesky lost 10 tribes must have gone somewhere! Why not up?) And the aliens must be very think-skinned, as it appears to be extremely difficult to get them to pay attention to the Hebrew god's wake-up calls.
So, just going by the weather, I don't think Jesus is coming to Earth any time soon, as there are so many other planets for whom his return must be a lot more imminent. Earth must be toward the bottom of a fairly long list—and at the end of a fairly long line—of other higher priority planets he's got to return to first. If you're looking for Jesus, Earth might be one of the last places you should least expect to find him showing up. Maybe this is why he's so much later than everyone expected? We never understood what a backlog he had until now! At this rate, we might get swallowed by the sun before he has a chance to punish us.
And if we wanted to look for reliable indicators of rare events, such as Days of Lords, maybe cyclical ones aren't the best choices? Is there any way that they're not gonna be confusing? I don't know. Just a thought?
And climatologists forecast extreme weather resulting from climate change.
At one point, Bob accepted climate change led to some destructive weather events, except when he could predict in hindsight that it was a punishment, such as drought in California due to LGBTQ legislation.
After Pope Francis got involved with action to mitigate climate change (and supposedly made it part of his "ecumenical agenda") Bob appeared to switch to climate change denial.
DennisCDiehl adds up to 105 - maybe our code talker can find something relevant about 105.
Especially since the Bible was not originally written in English.

You jest surely?! Trump is neither the "beast" nor the "false prophet."
Jesus Christ came to the earth at a time when it was conducive for the spread of the gospel - Pax Romana - and for a Christological reading of the OT - Second Temple exegesis in the first century AD.
Ps 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he [Christ] hath put all enemies under his feet.
“The argument that begins with this verse and carries through v.28 is Paul’s explanation of the how and why of the two “events” of the End, mentioned at the end of v.24. The explanation is based on his use (interpretation?) of two passages from the Psalms (110:1) and 8:6 [LXX 8:7]), which have the similar theme of “placing enemies (subjecting all things) under his feet.” Although the argument gets somewhat complex, primarily because one is not always sure of the antecedent of all the pronouns, whether Christ or God, God himself stands as both the source and goal of all that is; and since he has set in motion the final destruction of death, when that occurs he will be “all in all.” Christ’s role is to bring about this destruction through his resurrection, which is inherently tied to his own. When that occurs, all of God’s enemies will be subjected to Christ, so that in turn he may be made subject to God, which, it turns out, has been the one who subjected all things to him in any case.
1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
“Paul thus begins by picking up the theme of “Christ’s rule from v.24. This rule is currently in effect, but at “the end,” when he has destroyed all the powers, he will “hand [it] over to God the Father.” Paul now puts that into biblical perspective. Christ’s rule, which by implication began with his resurrection (or subsequent ascension), must continue until Ps. 110:1 is fulfilled, “until he has put all his enemies under his feet.” [“all’ not in 110:1].
“What is not certain is the intended subject of the verb “until he has put.” In favor of “Christ” is (a) the grammar itself, since the natural antecedent is the subject of the preceding “he must reign,” referring to Christ; and (b) that fact that this serves as an explanation of v.24, where Christ is the subject of the clause “when he destroys all dominion, etc.” In favor of “God” is (a) the fact that in the psalm itself God places all things under the Messiah’s feet, and (b) that in v.28 God is finally designated as the subject of Ps 8:6), as the one who has subjected all things to Christ. Almost certainly we must go with the grammar here and see Christ as the subject. Especially so since this is not a citation but an adaption of the psalm to Paul’s own grammar, and a reader (or hearer) could not possible have understood “God” to be the subject until he or she came to v.27c. Had Paul intended “God” as this point, it is almost demanded grammatically that he would have inserted a o theos.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
“Thus, he must reign (as he is now doing by virtue of his being Lord) until he places all his enemies (especially death, as v.26 makes clear) under his feet. By subjecting death to himself through the resurrection of the dead, which is causally related to his being the firstfruits, Christ will thus have brought Satan’s tyranny to its completion” (Gordon D. Fee, The First Epistle to the Corinthians, NICNT, pp.754-56).
Eze 43:7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever,
1Ki 8:13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.
1Ki 8:30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwellingplace: and when thou hearest, forgive.
Except for 3.5 years Christ will be in heaven for over a thousand years.
c f ben yochanan: just what "elect" is Trump deceiving?
Trump won because too many people did not like Hillary.
It looks like the Dems are planning to have another widely disliked candidate, so barring a recession, Trump will probably be re-elected.
In 2024, the USA will probably swing the other direction and elect Ocasio - who will be old enough then to meet the minimum age requirements.
To be elected President, the person and their team must be masters of social media. Nothing else really matters, including experience, ability, and truthfulness.

Some pseudo prognosticator way back thought it meant 1999, 9 being an inverted 6. Again, not caring that the original writing didn't use Hindu-Arabic numerals, or even Roman numerals...
I see Bob again posted that the "famine of the word" means internet censorship, which he says has happened to him. A few years ago Dennis posted a scholarly rebuttal of Bob's interpretation...
c f ben yochanan, June 13, 2019 at 9:11 PM, wrote concerning that man of sin be revealed: "...the world is coming to an end only when the man of sin is revealed, and that man is donald drumpf..."
Your odds of the revealed man of sin are a lot higher with Satan being "the man," than they are for donald drumpf, when one considers the following:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph 6:12
"Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation." Daniel 9:21
"And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel." Rev 21:17
"The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name." Exodus 15:3
Genesis 19:5-11; Luke 24:4; John 20:11-12; Isaiah 14:13-14, 16; etc.

Christ's life/death accomplished many purposes; however, it appears you (Gordon Fee?) are saying that Christ's resurrection not only put the enemies of both, death and Satan's tyranny, "under his feet." That makes no sense since both enemies are allowed to continue on beyond Christ's resurrection:
1. Death will continue throughout the 1,000 years (Mickey Mouse Millennium), and for a short/little time/season thereafter.
2. Satan's tyranny, along with it's deception worldwide and battle, continues after Satan is released from the bottomless pit.

John
I would suggest that in reading both paragraphs Gordon Fee is not saying that death and Satan’s tyranny are literally now under Christ’s feet.
Jn 12:31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out.
But there is a sense in which death and Satan’s tyranny are now under Christ’s feet, even though nearly two thousand years later Satan is still the ruler of this kosmos.
Ps 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Ps 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
“In the early church, the words of the psalm describing mankind’s role of dominion in the world (8:6-7) are given a christological significance with the respect to the dominion of Jesus Christ in his resurrection and exaltation (1 Cor 15:27; Eph 1:22; Heb 2:6-8). In one sense, this is quite a new meaning, yet in another sense, it is a natural development of the thought of the psalm, for the dominion of which the psalmist spoke may have had theological reality, yet it did not appear to have historical reality in the development history of the human race. The historical reality, according to Paul and the author of the Epistle to the Hebrews, is - and will be - fulfilled in the risen Christ” (Peter C. Craige Psalms 1-50, WBC, p.110).
It is suggested that Ps 110 was originally a coronation psalm that also came to have christological relevance.
Heb 2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
“Upon close consideration, Psalm 110:1 and 8:4-6 seem to contradict at a crucial point. Both psalms speak of the subjugation of all things to Christ but appear to address different time frames. Psalm 110:1 looks to the future (“until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”) while 8:6 speaks of the subjugation as an accomplished fact. (“You ... put everything under his feet”). Given the potential puzzlement arising from the two passages, our author employs a rabbinic technique called “dispelling confusion,” which involved discussing the conundrum in a way so as to clarify the passages in question.
“The author, in effect, answers the question, “Which is it? Have all things been subjugated to the son, or does the universal dominance lie in the future?” with “Both!” He first makes clear that God indeed has placed everything under the Son’s feet already, as suggested by Psalm 8 (having “left nothing that is not subject to him”). The authority of Christ is already all-encompassing. Psalm 110:1, on the other hand, means “at present we do not see everything subject to him.”
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
“At various points early Christian teachers present Christ’s exaltation over the powers as a fait accompli (Eph 1:20-22; 1 Peter 3:22). This accomplished fact, however, might seem confusing at best and tacitly absurd at worst to someone looking at a church ravished by the forces of evil. Persecuted Christians in Rome may have been asking, “Why are we being hurt by powers already placed under the feet of Christ? Has God not subjugated all things to the Son?” (continued in next comment)
The author, referring to Psalm 8, answers this question in the affirmative, but based on Psalm 110:1, goes on to explain to explain we have yet to see the full impact of his authority. This latter point aligns with other exaltation passages in the New testament, which, also based on Psalm 110:1, speak of the subjugation of all things as a future event (e.g., 1 Cor 15:25-26).
“The tension between the “now” and the “not yet,” between what is present reality but not yet seen, expresses what may be referred to as “the inaugurated rule of Christ.” That is, the reign of Christ and the reality of Christian experience have begun, but will not be fully actualized until a final consummation at the end of the age. The Son’s rule is already a reality; the reality, however, must be confessed by faith until we see its full impact at the end of the age” (George H. Guthrie, Hebrews, NIVAC, pp.98-99).
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Eph 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms [en tois epouraniois] in Christ Jesus
“In Colossians and Ephesians, however, the emphasis is placed on the “realized” aspect of believers’ being raised with Christ: “you were raised with Christ,” the Colossians are reminded (Col 3:1); God “raised us up with him,” the readers of Ephesians are told. Indeed, not only has God raised believers up with Christ in the sense of raising them from death to life; he has raised them to his throne and seated them there with Christ “in the heavenly realm.”
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
“This goes further than Colossians, where believers, raised to new life with Christ, remain on earth at present, but know that their life is secure with Christ, already enthroned at God’s right hand, and will share his glory on the coming day of his manifestation.
“Here, however, they are already enthroned with him. Taken by itself, this might express a totally realized eschatology. It is balanced, however, by the thoroughly Pauline doctrine of the Spirit found elsewhere in this epistle: the Spirit is the present guarantee of the future inheritance, sealing the people of God against the coming day of redemption (Eph 1:13-14; 4:30). That God had already seated his people with Christ in the heavenly realm is an idea unparalleled elsewhere in the Pauline corpus. It can be best understood as a statement of God’s purpose for his people - a purpose which is so sure of fulfilment that it can be spoken of as having already taken place: “whom he justified, them he also glorified” (Rom 8:30).
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
“The added phrase “in Christ Jesus” clarifies the meaning. Enthronement with Christ in the heavenly realm is not yet part of the experience of believers, but that is their proper location because they are incorporated in him
Phil 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ (NIV).
“The community to which they now belong ... is heavenly in origin, character, and destiny...” (F.F. Bruce, The Epistle to the Colossians, to Philemon, and to the Ephesians, NICNT, pp.286-87).
