Gerald Weston Intends To Shut Down Live Streaming Of Sermons

Church of God News has this little tidbit up:

It used to be possible for anyone to view LCG’s live Sabbath services, but one of Gerald Weston’s first actions on taking control of LCG was to deny access to non-members.

Soon afterwards he took this a stage further: “We ask you, brethren, please do not share passwords outside of your area.”

In his sermon on August 8th he announced his intention to cut off livestream services even to members … “when this whole thing is over.”

“Some who are healthy, some who really could go to the feast just think, well, it’s just an option. Yes it is an option, in the sense of you have to make up your mind what to do. But there’s coming a time, brethren, when we have to come out of our basements, and there’s coming a time, when this whole thing is over, we’re going to have to cut off the livestreams to just anybody.

And I think we’ll have to do that because otherwise people will say, oh, I’m so comfortable here at home. Why do I have to dress up and go all the way over here? I would maintain that, when we assemble together over the internet, because everything is closed down, I’d say that’s still assembling together … but this is not what we want to do forever.”

Why not … if it’s still assembling together? What is he worried that his members might be doing?

Weston has to be one of the pettiest COG leaders out there.  Everything irritates this guy and causes him to lash out in anger. As usual, LCG members are at fault. Can they ever do anything right in this man's eye?

Ever since Terry Ratzmann murdered seven LCG members during Sabbath services, LCG has sought to close down access to their sermons to the public. One of Meredith's sermons drove Ratzmann over the edge and the media sought to gain access to what was being preached. LCG clamped down tighter than an oyster shell. So much for the Good News that they claim to be proclaiming to the world!  How can anyone ever hear the message if they cant listen to the truth? None of their watered-down crap in their magazines preaches the Good News. I thought LCG was BOLDLY and without fear, preaching the truth? Instead, they cower and whimper in their little office building in Charlotte dreaming about the good old days when people obeyed the ministry regardless of what they said.

They all think like this. Only the types of Weston and Pack don't care who hear it.

Yeah, I'm guessing the public doesn't get to hear about Armstrong's pseudo-scientific-Anglo/Israel-race-theory that this "LCG" still teaches & believes!

Don't worry, it's Sheldon to the rescue!

Monson has intimated that his new group will not compromise its message at all. Based on Sheldon's own actions and statements, this means he'll be preaching racial separation while his nation has a non-white Vice President. He'll be preaching an anti-vaccination message while people are being offered a COVID-19 vaccine. He'll be calling vegans Satanic while more and more Americans are moving away from the illnesses and cruelty fostered by a meat-based diet.

Don't kid yourself about the live streaming, though. Sheldon agrees with HWA that church services should be closed to everyone except baptized members and a few others the minister personally approves. His use of live streaming is a tactic to gain short-term following, but once he has control over a tithe farm he'll lock down tighter than Flurry.

Hi jerry,
If you really cared about our salvation, you should be glad we watch. I though the
purpose of the COG's were to get us into the kingdom. It should not make any difference as to what group I belong to or feast site I attend, as long as I die in the faith.
You as a so called leader, should treat other cog members as neighbours and not enemies. As your all supposed to work for the same GOD or are you?
Don't forget matt7:2 By whatever you judge, you will be judged.
good day

Is there anyway for the public to access that sermon?
I do not really want to but my mom will not believe me that Wallace Smith said that no matter what you have to follow your husband even though they tell you to lie.

I doubt there is since it's a DMCA violation to copy any sermon off livestream from LCG since they only want edited and useless content available to the unwashed masses from what I can tell.

I hope Y'all have a good day cuz mines gonna suck :frown:

p.s. the latest round of LCG's thou shalt... is causing Dad who's thoroughly brain-washed ("thought reformed") to act horrible to my Mom since she's told hem that she cannot believe LCG cuz they are not following God's calendar let alone all the slag I've seen & some of which I've told her which mostly bounces off since she was in the ACOG system for about 50 years so she finds a lot of what I've told her impossible)

The tactic of exclusivity, is an old marketing tactic. Its the type of thing that makes country clubs or exclusive resorts a desirable thing.

The idea is to let you think that you are special, and privileged and "better than others" by having the "secret password". One conjures up memories of having the special "secret decoder ring" available for two cereal box tops!

Truth be told, who really wants to watch or hear their warn out drivel anyway!

6:07 Monson has intimated that his new group will not compromise its message

Yeah, and like the parent LCG-cult, inductees will be gradually introduced to Armstrong's pseudo-scientific-Anglo/Israel-race-theory

It's funny, HWA, fool that he was, used to foist this shit directly on curious radio responders. My, how times have changed, ACOGs now keep the pseudo-scientific-Anglo/Israel-race-theory hidden in the background!

Any word on what will become of Jason Fritts, who was also fired with Monson?

People in pack's group have to use a password to access the church's site for info, sermons, messages and such. They are told not to share with outsiders
When they hold services the doors are locked and if you're late you don't get in.
