The COGWA-Mike Moore Connection

From an anonymous source:

The COGWA-Mike Moore Connection

Time has a way of making people forget. That's why history is important and why there are things we need to make sure we don't forget.

Ten years ago, as UCG ministers were overtly tussling with each other in a chaotic web of lies and misinformation (on both sides), they were covertly trying to do a 50/50 split of people attending UCG at that time (Martha at AS BEREANS DID has succinctly summarized the fight). In the fourth quarter of 2010, Mike Moore, the CEO of Recourse Communications, Inc. (RCI), who attended UCG in Florida, pretty much single-handedly bankrolled the start of what would become COGWA.

Mike and his wife, Sam, always seemed to get VIP treatment from the Texas contingency, but it was very discreet, and they have stayed, organizationally, under the radar for 10 years. On the Feast of Trumpets(Sept. 19, 2020), David Jackson (the son-in-law of Arnold Hampton, who has been in the Miami-West Palm Beach and Caribbean area from his UCG days and on into COGWA) ordained Mike and Sam Moore as deacon and deaconess.

Cynically, one has to wonder if this was the fulfillment of a delayed promise made by those starting COGWA in exchange for Mike Moore's funding. Knowing how all the COG groups handle things in a very backroom manner, it's hard not to imagine that Mike Moore was promised the perk in 2010, but everyone decided to put enough time and distance between what happened in 2010-2011 so that people would forget and no eyebrows would be raised when Mike and Sam Moore were inducted into the inner circle.

Ten years is way too long, so I don't believe the connection. Besides, becoming a deacon or deaconess isn't that big a deal.

It would serve well to note "Martha" is a high ranking UCG Pastors wife who writes for UCG.

It would also be useful to know "Martha" and her husband were mean spirited and bitter towards anyone who did not hate COGWA. When UCG members innocently joined the 'United we stand' facebook page they were immediately marked for life by the "Martha's" in UCG.

"Martha" has an agenda.

Don't be a like Martha.

add them to the list of "COGs" that were founded using deception....it's a long list.

the people that I know that went to COGWA think HWA hung the moon, so yeah, just stay away.

Deacons are not in the "inner circle."

Deacons are lackeys who serve the inner circle.

Unless Mike is ordained as an elder a year from now and deacon was a transitional stage to test his attitude, he has been given the booby prize of Armstrongism. He gets the privilege of laboring for the elite without being elite himself.

Wait a year and see. Having seen other favored lackeys ordained straight to elder status, my guess is that Mike screwed up somehow and this is all he's going to get

I’m going to be like Nck and provide a quick bit of inside info: martha is not in ucg Or any cog.

Does anybody know of a theological difference between UCG and COGWA? At least with David Koresh we knew he was distinctly different from other Apocalyptic Millerites. In the Armstrongist branch, it seems like the various splinters are just yellow pencils - at least in the domain of theology.

I remember Mike and Samantha Moore from Rhode Island.
They were a popular power couple and employed several church members in their business.
I believe they purchased Jim Franks house in Massachusetts from him when he was transferred from the area.
They seemed to be close to Jim Franks.
When the Moores moved the business to West Palm Beach, their church member employees followed them.
It seemed that the Moores' close group of friends who stayed in Rhode Island remained very close to the Moores and the rest of the crew who moved to Florida, for years.
However, it now seems that the once-close group has completely fractured - some left UCG and went with LCG, instead of following the Moores; some left the COGs altogether at the time of the COGWA revolt.
I wonder if everyone employed by the Moores, followed their boss into COGWA?
Does anyone know what happened to Tom Fitzpatrick?
Fitzpatrick became the pastor of Providence when Winnail was transferred.
Fitzpatrick left WCG for UCG and was close to Moores' gang.
I heard his second wife left him - but I have not noticed his name recently connected with any of the COGs.

Who'd have thought this is 'the truth'? Heady stuff for those believers who are 'on board', but look out, it's an expensive ride!

Another angry, jealous, neglected Pastor's wife that doesn't seem to be aware of Matt 7:1-2
With all that is going on in this world, this is where her small mind festers? Sad. Mike and his wife have been serving God's people for years and oh ya, without pay. Best to keep your nose in your own stink.....we all know the type.

Exactly 8:03. Notice the timing this is being put forth on here, right bang on Day of Atonement and right before the Feast of Tabernacles. An attempt to cause trouble during the Holy day season.

Timing is crucial. It always has been. It always will be. Been there and seen it all before.

Those that read this who know will know.

I hear that Tom Fitzpatrick is with David Hulme's group.

Distracting events just prior to the feast of tabernacles are typically international in nature or some local major crime.

NEO,
It appears that cogwa is more into hwa than ucg though It seems ucg has increased in that area as well. It seems they have recognized they cannot support their doctrine without hwa and thus they cannot let him be diminished.
Cogwa is younger and probably more affluent and is less accepting of different biblical understanding than ucg - except for the older members of ucg.
