Theological illusionist David C. Pack took another one on the chin when the Kingdom of God did not arrive at The Restored Church of God Headquarters Campus on Pentecost, June 16, 2024.
After spending 4 hours and 16 minutes waving his long, powerful lists in the air proving Pentecost 2024 was the day Jesus Christ would return to pat him on the back with a world-witnessed attaboy, the Pastor General flinched in the concluding 63 seconds to extinguish all his momentum by prognosticating his own inevitable failure.
It was a little bitch move.
Predictably, Dave later clung to that thin lifeline of being right about being wrong for the 82nd time since March 2022. In advance of Pentecost, an anonymous email from Church Administration blessed the brethren with another “my Lord delays His coming” declaration.
During "The Greatest Unending Story!" Part 519 on June 20 and Part 520 on June 22, David C. Pack pushed on by dissolving the past and recycling his notes, promising a brighter future.
But that is a cheap parlor trick consisting of smoke and mirrors.

Part 519 – June 20, 2024
@ 00:04 Well, here we are. You’ll learn why I thought we would be. All the complicated or maybe should say complications and gymnastics of how the Kingdom could arrive on Pentecost (the tenth of a month) are over.
This smoke and mirrors introductory wordplay obscures two embarrassing points Dave did not want to admit: 1) Brethren will learn why Dave thought they would be there instead of why he was wrong. 2) The New Moon he invented on the tenth of each month to force the circle moed into the triangle slot Pentecost was immediately abandoned.

The brethren still attending The Restored Church of God reading this right now should seriously consider which being they are supporting by giving this spiritually bankrupt organization their money. You KNOW Dave is a false apostle, yet you stay because you value the social club aspect more than holding fast to what you know to be true.
Your continued attendance and financial support promote religious madness. You already know this. If you think God will step in and push what your eyes and ears already tell you, then you are playing a smoke and mirrors game with yourself. You reap what you sow, folks.
After Dave was warmed up, his Pentecost confessional became less opaque.

When God charges a chosen servant to relay vital information to His people, it is God's responsibility for them to get it right the first time. David C. Pack adopted the "trial and error leads us closer to success” philosophy, which may work in entrepreneurship but is proof of false leadership in prophetic theology.
The Bible gives anyone a single chance to prove God is backing them. David C. Pack was revealed to be a prophetic fraud on August 30, 2013. He is forever invalidated, and nothing biblical will happen on July 7.
David C. Pack was never commanded to hit the rock, talk to it, or drop it on his foot. No water will ever spring forth. He was not sent, yet he ran. He rushes to call out lunacy with his arms waving in the air.
His endless lists will never produce fruit. Compiling, reading, and holding them up is a smoke and mirrors technique devoid of substance that is no more valuable than the hot air that blathered them.
When brethren flee The Restored Church of God, they do so because they have proven from the Bible that David C. Pack is false. They know the cowardly enablers at Headquarters willfully support their human idol with feigning lips, spreading wickedness with lying tongues.
That truth is distorted through smoke and mirrors.

An authentic, inspired spokesman for God would not feel pressured because the man is not settling on any date. He is only conveying what God already chose. The pressure is on God to get it right, not the human conduit. A faithful end time messenger would not feel such stress about what God is doing because God is doing it, not him.
This demonstrates David C. Pack does not believe God is revealing this to him, but the self-assigned mouthpiece has to “figure out” what God wants. That is the fatal flaw in believing he can receive an utterance from God without actually hearing an utterance from God.
David C. Pack does not believe David C. Pack because nobody should.
If you think he does not take reasonable opposition personally, ask yourself why he keeps the victimhood card in his back pocket. Anyone who reminds Dave of what he said is counted as an enemy.

Dave offers a series of plastic questions that are apples to oranges comparisons. Hollow questions about the Millennium, the New Heavens and New Earth, and the Day of the Lord are carefully worded because they focused on WCG doctrines, NOT date setting.
His warped logic is easy to discern and is pure smoke and mirrors. Non-critical thinkers like Edward Winkfield may accept it all at the surface level, but that smoke is so dilute you can see the huge cracks in the glass.
It is topped off with more woe-is-me, where Dave finally admits why he relied so much on smoke and mirrors techniques during Parts 519 and 520.

In Dave's mindset, what does he feel his relationship is with the Father or with The Son? Does Dave consider them as only figureheads operating with hands-off policy like the British monarchy?
How can a man live with himself as a liar to God daily? How can his pleasant wife put up with this? How can a flock trust such a Spahn Ranch re-make & re-take & facsimilie that Dave has become?
Does Dave think God is just a mannequin & not even a real being? He is Vulcan-mind-melding himself into the Jim Jones brain pattern. Soon he will mimic Marshall Applewhite of Heaven's Gate. What a shame of a man, damn-it Dave.

I find two very specific bias and critical thinking problems with the membership and MINISTRY under Dave's theologically delusional leadership. I have wondered often that by now, "why do they stay?" Here are two reasons people do or don't do what they do or don't do.
1. The Backfire Effect:
When your core beliefs are challenged, it can cause you to believe them even more strongly. We can experience being wrong about some ideas as an attack upon our very selves or our tribal identity. This can lead to motivated reasoning which causes us to reinforce a broader narrative, despite disconfirming evidence relating to a particular fact or belief.
2, The Sunk Cost Fallacy:
You irrationally cling to things that have already cost you something. When we've invested our time, money or emotions into something it hurts to let go. Ask yourself, "Had I not already invested so much in RCG, would I still do so now, and stay?" Probably not.
Bonus reason they stay:
Special Pleading: Moving the goalposts to create exceptions when a claim is shown to be false.
Dave claims to be many things, all authoritarian and seen by himself about himself in the scriptures. When he fails again and again, and again and again and again, Dave claims he was suspicious, well ahead of time that "we" had missed something, we never understood or we missed, thus bringing fault and lack of faith into the picture on the part of the members. Dave does go so far at times to kinda blame God for playing with him, so there's that too.
The sad part is that the leftover members buy into it in hope that perhaps next time is the right time.
It's NEVER DAVE when it is ALWAYS DAVE. Of course, we understand that each new revelation is from the "I" of Dave until it is proven to a "we" of misunderstanding.
Dave can't accept his being wrong about anything and never will. This theologically empty delusion will come home to roost in a miserable way I suspect. Dave needs psychological and mental health help that he would never accept. But he should.
Dave himself probably won't read Dennis's careful exam of why the flock keeps following The Dave, but if any of RCG reads what Dennis wrote, it could begin to clear the fogs & clouds away.
Any RCG person who stays in a lie just because they invested financially in a lie, should take comfort that we all invested in polluting the environment, but now we are switching over to leave all that behind and aiming toward clean-up.
Dave was & is pollution just like plastic is in the ocean, L.A. smog getting better, Lake Erie getting cleaner, so give it a try and clean it up with some spiritual elbow grease.

Like a dog who returns to his vomit, so are these men. They love gatherings in the club setting. It's all a feel good atmosphere. I can assure you, they are not entering his rest.
They have no problem with keeping the same things as the Pharisees or pagans. Their conscience is seared like a hot iron. They commit adultery with no guilt whatsoever, while the number one spouse is alive. It is not well with your soul! Make you clean! Come out from among them!

Everyone needs to ESCAPE from David C. Pack and his RCG cult sooner or later.
Tragically, by the time they do escape, many of them will have lost their time, money, savings, retirement plans, possessions, houses, and sanity.
But if they do escape, it will be like an old coal company switching over to solar & wind power more as time goes on. Lose the pollution, gain the future.
Escaping Dave after huge investment in RCG, is also like an alcoholic who quits the sauce after years of buying booze. It's like a smoker who quits late in life after years of buying tobacco. You don't take it with you, but you move on.
I have had a theory for many decades. The theory is that people choose guiding philosophies which are consistent with their basic personality, or psychological profile. Now, not all are seekers. There are those to whom my theory does not apply, because they stick to the philosophy handed to them by their parents and or extended family. So, we can rule a certain percentage of the general population out, because the theory will not apply to them.
What do we know about the profile of those to whom Armstrongism appeals. Based on my own somewhat informed dimestore psychology, the first characteristic would be that one has a poor self image. And if that person does not have a poor self image prior to entry, it is almost mandatory, according to the basic principles of Armstrongism, that one acquire a poor self image. I mean you've got to do that just to be baptized! You must realize that you are nothing in and of yourself. Your only value comes from the knowledge and behavior patterns which you learn through the church.
Secondly, you must be an ascetic. In definitions for ascetic, we find such words as devotion, extreme self-denial, self-mortification, extreme rigor, self-denial, and sometimes solitary, contemplative, and reclusive. If you disagree with this part of the profile, just ask yourself who the long term survivors are in any Armstrong cult, and does this description match their soul print. These are the people whom ridiculous, draconian edicts and policies simply does not bother, because they live and prefer an austere life.
Thirdly, you must be mistrustful and questioning of all establishments, institutions, and authorities which surround you, but trust the authorities and teachers in the church implicitly. Although you are taught to "prove all things" you are not allowed to evaluate or fact check the leaders and ministry. The way you prove all things is by reading all the church literature and nodding your head, listening intently to sermons adding a bright smile to the nodding of your head, and carefully memorizing the proof texts which are fed to you.
Fourth is that you must be the type of person who naturally wears filtering blinders. It simply cannot be an all consuming event if your leader gets a prophetic time and date wrong, gives advice in counseling which results in a member dying or suffering financial ruin, or disfellowships and marks members due to his own personal tastes, as opposed to having a strong doctrinal basis for the disfellowshipment.
Last of the majors is that any intrusion into your private space cannot bother you in the least. There are no personal matters, privacy does not exist. Such would be seen as an attempt to hide and conceal things which your minister needs to know. Your individuality must be based on conformity to the personal tastes of your leaders, and this is subject to constant verification.
As you might have guessed, I was a fan of the TV program "Criminal Minds". The profile above is very similar to what the analysts on the show developed in searching for and identifying their "unsubs". Without a doubt, the five points above totally describe all but the occasional rebel in an ACOG, as well as members of similar cults. And, of course, there could be more similar points. The reason many members remain in such cults is that this very profile is like a three lock box, and prevents them from even wanting to explore other avenues, let alone escape. They've found a group in which they feel totally at home because this profile lends itself flawlessly to long term membership in that group. And, by the way, the people who fit this profile are the ones whom HWA would describe as "getting it".

Another reason the members stay with Dave and other splinters is the belief that leaving that group amounts to ending up in the lake of fire.
I think many members feel that they haven't qualified for the kingdom, but can't bare to make the final break by no longer attending services. There's always the comfort and vague hope that somehow their lot might change if they just stay with some group.
They should attend sabbath with a Wadsworth Messianic Jewish group a few times after leaving Dave till they figure out where to settle at permanently. At least they'd hear some wonderful Hebraic music & song once in a while. No forced or gaslit tithes there either.
Going along with lying, thieving perverts like Gerald Flurry and David Pack won't get anyone saved.
It will only make the person a guilty accomplice of a vicious false prophet.

I don't mind being different in cool ways. My mom had noticed this early on, though and had different ideas. She told me , "Bob, if you want to be different, be a Christian! (she meant Christian in the way HWA redefined it). That was being different in ways which would make you a pariah. Now, there are cool pariahs, and there are uncool pariahs. I had a different type of pariah in mind. The 'rents understood just a little bit better after I took them for rides. But, they kept being different their way anyway. Over the years I have met many really cool mainstream Christians.
