Michael Venish of the Vigilant Church of God is back with another video ripping into the myriad of false Church of God leaders leading the splinter groups today who are actively damaging the spiritual lives of their followers.
Venish gained a lot of fame a few years ago when he exposed Dave Pack as the fraudulent liar that he is and encouraged Restored Church of God members to leave Dave's personality cult. Many did leave thanks to Venish.
This time he is ripping into the leadership of the splinter groups. Like all of those he condemns, Venish has set himself up as a splinter leader who has a following. So, the question to be asked is, "Isn't Venish just as bad as all the other splinter leaders?" He is starting to sound like Bob Thiel (no, that is NOT a compliment) when he proclaims everyone else is wrong but him.

How is this guy even qualified to be any kind of COG leader? His latter years training was in PCG and RCG. It's great that he left those organizations, but so did I and many others. Many of us left PCG and RCG before he was even there listening to their b.s. Does that make us competent to start another splinter? I speak as a fool!
Yes, Venish and company (Vigilant Church of God) are just as bad as the rest. They have swallowed the Herbert Armstrong Kool-Aid hook, line and sinker. Notice what they have to say about Herbie on their website:

The scattered flock and their future can be clearly seen by reading Zech.chapter 11. These scriptures paint an awful set of tribulation that is to come upon them. I encourage all members of these groups to come out of them. They are not pleasing to the Most High. They are walking in the shoes of the rebellous.
What they ought to be doing is to come into a personal relationship with Yahweh and His Son Yahshua, just as Abraham, Noah, and the prophets of old had. You do not need an organization of men telling you what to do. Read and obey the scriptures for you will be judged by them and not what your organization teaches you. Spiritually grow up and grow a pair.
Venish has relatives in COGWA and LCG who support him quietly. He's bitter that no other group was willing to put him on their payroll.

Well EX, it depends on what you mean by qualified I guess lol.
Regardless of your leadership qualifications, you only really need the following to start your own COG splinter:
(1) Find yourself a pet prophecy or two that the other splinters haven't yet tried to force onto irrelevant current world events.(as in Flurry's Malachi's Message...or Dave Pack's famous prophetic failures with Haggai/Zechariah).
(2) Make up some attribute that you can pretend makes you special (a "dream" will do, or being annointed at some point by HWA or an evangelist, or it may be a "double portion" of the Magic Holy Spirit as in the case of Bob Thiel)
But the most important and essential thing is:
(3) Find a minimum number of people (perhaps 10 or so?) that can be hoodwinked into believing you are the next HWA and his true spiritual successor - they don't have to be rich, but should have sufficient incomes so that you can live on their tithes.
Speaking skills or administrative skills or charisma are not necessary at all. I mean, just looking at the other COG leaders is proof enough of that.
Some charisma might be nice to have as in HWA's case, but who needs it when you can ride his coattails?
All you have to do is talk a lot about HWA and how you and only you, and nobody else, is *really* following HWA.
Congratulations, you are now the leader of your new cult.(Let me know if I got all of that right, Bob?)
He lost me when he said "that apostle (ie, HWA) taught the government of God." Which is code for lording ministers trampling on members natural rights. So he wants to be another religious banana republic dictator.
