Vain Crackpot Prophet Wants You To Know How Big And Thick It Is...

A reader here pointed out something that I missed when skimming through Bwana Bob's superfantabulous "Behind the Curtains Work" film…

The Great Bwana to Africa and 299 Caucasians believes that we should be impressed by his LARGE book and its THICKNESS. Never in the history of the Church of God has there been a story written about its history than the one Bwana Bob has finished. We are to be astounded at his magnificence and the extreme knowledge that he possesses, which should lead us to bow down at the feet of the one true messenger that God has sent to us in these perilous end times. No Church of God leader has ever possessed as much knowledge as the Great Bwana to Africa. Dave Pack and Gerald Flurry have been seen whimpering in the dark recesses of their offices at the mention of Bob Thiel's name.

Are you impressed?

Thank you very much for this addition. I was not able to discern fir myself just how much of a portion of awe I was to award this effort.

This is the man who speaks the name Paul as if he had taught to mend fishnets to the apprentice Paul himself. The one who enforces the word "writing" with the uncoordinated throwing about of hands in random direction as to astound me on the level of command he posesses om his bodily functions.

And all of this preaching "Behind the Curtain" is executed and I remind you, from the greatest vault and moving tectonic plates ready to astound the world of the lid he is able to put on the Gehenna fire beneath his very butt.

I can guarantee you that he has plagiarized 90% of the book from previous WCG material. None of these buffoons can ever create anything orginal.

It looks a bit thicker than the two books I've published. I'm rather jealous. If it's thick, then it's gotta be good.

I'll be impressed when Dr. Thiel releases his autobiography. It will have to be at least three volumes. :-)

He must listen to old Jethro Tull classics. "Thick as a Brick."

Instead, I'd recommend some Pink Floyd. "The Wall."

Bob don't need no ordination
Under Herbie's thought control
His body's squirmin' through his sermons
Since old Rod left him alone
Hey, brethren, leave poor Bob alone

All in all, it's just a Mayan brick in the wall
All in all, Bob's just as thick as a brick in the wall

The question I have about Bob is when is he gonna come into my territory that the USA/NATO block is going to take on the Russia/China block at Armageddon….none of the other clown shows understand this clear point in prophecy…can’t wait to see these clowns come around to my position.

Behind the Curtains? I think Dr Bob should bring back the crooked bookcases.

The ladies of the COG must be swooning over that thickness.

NCK, I am going to help you with your discernment problem. You need to put yourself into the moment. That moment is you personally face to face with the only low level prophet on earth who is leveling aim upon you with one eye closed and the other squinting down the perfect edge of a laser bound book and if words could be spoken, it would be "go on, make my day".

NCK, the possibility of being just a statistic in another episode of "Dirty Bob" should strike enormous awe upon you.

I'd agree with Bob that knowledge of church history is important - but not the Armstrongite version of history - as is the evolution of church doctrine. Protestant pastors and some COGleaders make anachronistic statements that appear to pull changes made after the Second Century back to the First Century...
No, Passover wasn't replaced by Easter and communion in the First Century, and Polycarp wasn't killed by the Catholic Church!

I was going to say 'thick as a brick' myself, but you beat me to it! BTW, I've been told taab means the same thing as 'full of s--t'. In that case, BT needs to take some supplement from his store to be more regular!

Actually Hoss, the Old Covenant Passover was replaced by the annual New Covenant celebration of the Eucharist. The early church used the original name for what became known as Easter in Northern Europe, but the rest of the Christian world called it by some variation of the name Passover.

Those idiots believe Polycarp was killed by the Catholic Church?! Polycarp and all the post 100 AD identified themselves as Catholics! How blind and dumb can this people be?!

Amazing the parallels we can find between classic rock tunes and Armstrongism. One sabbath on the way to church, Dylan's "Desolation Row" was on the FM, and I immediately realized that his character "Phantom of the Opera" was HWA, and "Cassanova" was GTA. It was easy to connect "Dr. Filth" to Rod Meredith, and "the blind commissioner" to any of a dozen cruel and authoritarian ministers, and "Cinderella" to the regular church members who were always left to clean up the messes left in their lives by the ministers.

And then, of course, there was "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who, as well as "We're Not Going to Take it" from their opera "Tommy".

As recovery songs, I just loved Steppenwolf's "Desperation" and "Somebody to Love" by the Jefferson Airplane, with its beautiful opening words "When the truth is found to be lies....."

Phinnpoy - Passover - That sounds like a misunderstanding of the Didache. The Western churches messed with the time of Passover in the Second Century, but not the Eastern churches. As for the Polycarp remark, it was our friend in Wadsworth...

It's my understanding that the time for the Christian Passover was changed by the Western Churches, because of the trouble they were having with Judaizers. The new time prevented the Judaizers from mixing with the Christians, thus limiting their chances of influencing them.

Believe it or not Hoss, some extreme Baptists claim Polycarp was a Baptist! Strangely enough, these Baptists claim the same groups that the Worldwide did as their spiritual ancestors as well. They call their idea the trail of blood.

At the Council of Whitby it was the Catholics versus the Celts to change the date to the Roman one.
