666: The number of a man: Dave Pack!

666: The number of Biblical figures he claims to be!

666: The number of sermons he will give in his false prophecy series!

Was this aimed at Bob Thiel? Every time he finds out about something involving governmental controls in Europe he asks the question, Is this a sign of 666? His answer is always a convoluted non-committal.

666? Yes, they have been arguing about it for centuries. May as well add another to the list:

666: The number of names God knows Satan by.

And time will tell...

Prophetic speculation is a distraction for the church. It allows people to feel pious while ignoring the true meaning of religion. James 1:27 defines true religion as taking care of those in need and living an ethical life. The Catholic Church seems to busy themselves with rituals. Other churches busy themselves with minor issues such as church government and prophetic speculation. Jesus said that where our treasure is, so will our hearts be (Matt. 6:21). In other words, how we spend our treasure (time and money) shows what we really value. The C of God didn’t appear to value helping people. What do church budgets say about their values if 80% of the money goes for buildings and personnel while outreach and missions go begging. President Eisenhower said, "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.” Every dollar spent by churches for non-essentials items, is a theft from the hungry, ill fed, etc.
It is easier for some to spend their time and money on rituals and prophetic arguments than reaching out to help those in need. Why do they not help others? Because they really don’t care about them. Imagine the WCG leadership in Pasadena opening up their dining hall to the homeless on Thanksgiving. Or imagine some of the evangelist going down Colorado Blvd and helping some local ministry reach out and help the poor.

Or just when you have the 666 figured out, it winds up being 616. Oh well.
