LCG:Yes, we know this the 500th time we have told you we live in uncertain times, so be prepared for the worst!

Where would the Church of God be without some good scare scenario to whip up the members into a frenzy? Drought, tornadoes, the war in Ukraine, supply chain shortages, batshit crazy Putin, the gays, the Chinese, the gays, Bob Thiel, and sex. The world is filled with evil out there that is trying to destroy the true COG.

While it is never a bad idea to have an emergency kit ready, particularly if you live in earthquake country and tornado alley, you need to understand that the church will not help you.

Be Prepared! We are living in an increasingly uncertain world today that is seeing serious disruptions in the daily activities of life: from travel to food shortages to soaring prices—and increasing violence in many places. All this points to the need to plan ahead for unexpected emergencies—advice that is also found in the Scriptures. Solomon advised, “Ponder the path of your feet” (Proverbs 4:26). He also observed, “A prudent man foresees evil [danger] and hides himself [he takes precautions], but the simple pass on and are punished [they face consequences]” (Proverbs 22:3). God’s Church has long encouraged members to prepare for unexpected emergencies—keep a supply of bottled water, non-perishable food items, batteries for flashlights and a radio, extra vitamins, prescribed medications, a camp cooking stove or heating device—things that may be needed if public services are disrupted. While we look to God for our ultimate protection, we must also do our part to be prepared.

Prepared? Doug prepared this in March 2011. Maybe earlier than that.

This is April 29, 2022!!!! How different is it from that of FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2021 when Doug Winnail's annual Friday night beat down message for LCG members said the following?

"...Be Prepared! We are living in increasingly uncertain times, with unstable economies, job insecurity, storms, floods, droughts, and sudden terrorist activities. Due to our modern dependence on technology, these dramatic events can cause serious disruptions in our daily lives—thus we need to plan ahead for unexpected emergencies. This is reflected in the Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared! Solomon offered the same advice when he wrote, “Ponder the path of your feet”—think about where you are going and how to get there (Proverbs 4:26). Solomon also observed, “A prudent man foresees evil [danger] and hides himself [takes refuge], but the simple [the naïve and unsuspecting] pass on and are punished [they have to face the consequences of not being prepared]” (Proverbs 22:3). God’s Church has long encouraged members to prepare for unexpected emergencies—keep a supply of bottled water, a stock of non-perishable food, extra vitamins, first aid supplies, extra batteries for flashlights, a battery-powered radio, a camp stove or heating device, etc.—things that may be needed if normal public services are disrupted. While God’s people will look to Him for their ultimate protection, we also need to do our part to be prepared—so we are not taken by surprise.

Have a profitable Sabbath, Douglas S. Winnail"

If Doug were alive to write over a 1,000 years from today, after Satan exits the pit, what would his message be then? It is projected to be far worse (via God's wrath to again put Satan down) than today's preparation for Doug's Mickey Mouse millennium (MMM) of 1,000 years with "another Jesus" reigning on earth with the likes of Doug and those members he addresses! And the 7 Trumps (wrath of the Lamb to put Satan down...into a "pit" for 1,000 years) haven't even kicked in yet!

Doug, even some of the "living" ("dead?") council members apparently aren't reading your words, preparing themselves to protect themselves from what? COVID! It's back, and it's even in your own backyard, sort of speak!

Doug is back repeating himself again! What's new? When will somebody come up with a new jingle like: "Doug and Repeat were in a MMM boat, and Doug stumbled over his own feet and fell overboard! Who is left?"

But, on a more serious note, Doug suggests we consider Proverbs 4:26.
"Ponder the path of thy feet..."

I suggest Doug ponder Jeremiah 10:23
"O LORD, I know that the way of man [is] not in himself: [it is] not in man that walketh to direct his steps." And Doug, God didn't lie! We may read where Solomon's steps led.

Doug suggests we consider Proverbs 4:26
"A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself:..."

I suggest Doug ponder Romans 7:21 and James 4:5
"I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me."

That evil is with you, Doug! How do you hide from it? And God created evil (Isaiah 45:7). For example, Satan was created perfectly evil Ezekiel 28:15)!

Doug, by another spirit, has been preaching to us about another gospel and another Jesus. Why? As Doug blames/judges his "living" members (council members excluded?) for their trespasses, he fails to see what is within:

"Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" James 4:5

Doug, James informs us that that spirit was dwelling within Christians, something you profess to be among today, so don't strive too quickly to dismiss James' inspired words.

Will Doug also even consider the sin that dwells within (Romans 7:17, 20), and perhaps express more of the fruits of God's Spirit when writing to his followers?

Time will tell...

Conditions will no doubt become much worse before they improve. I give us a window of about 6 months of relative stability until all hell breaks loose once again, and lies and violence gradually begin to cloud the 2022 elections. There will be many surprises as we learn of the effects of the countermeasures which were instituted by the losers of the last election. The Russians avoided participating in 2020, but watch for them to get back into the game this year to punish the US for supporting Ukraine. Enjoy every day of your life right now, because this is the best it's going to be for a while!

Oh, and this has nothing to do with Armstrongism, although the ACOGs will be busy recruiting as if it actually did.

The “Uncertain Times” are narrowing down.

You can tell that prophecy, or at least prophesying, is speeding up.

In the past, the end was not 100 or even 50 years away, but coming in the next 15 to 20 years. This could go on for half a century.

Then, according to Rod the end was going to begin to come in the next 3 to 5 years. This could go on for decades.

Many years ago, there was a Flurry of lying about the “end of the end times” and the “last hour,” but he was afraid to give a sermon on the “last minute” for fear that the end of his “short work” would come right away if he did.

Now, with Dave Quack the end is always coming in another week or three. This could go on for years.

The end appears to be getting closer. It probably is not getting further away.

So Proverbs 4:26 "A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself" becomes "a prudent man foresees evil and takes precautions."
Why turn hide into precautions? Because the ACOGs don't like the idea of privacy. They want members to be ridiculously open so that they are easier to lord over. By contrast, the Pharisaic ministers hide their true character and their true beliefs. For instance. has anyone heard a minister claim that he has a right to lord it over the flock? Of course not. They'll lie through their teeth and claim otherwise.

Well, there is a truth that the more complicated a system is, the easier it is for a smaller thing to be able to topple it, or having it be vulnerable.

Todays world is definitely far more complicated, dependent and interrelated than things even as recently as 1900. Food, water , energy etc are generated thousands of miles away in many cases, and with things like hypersonic ICBMs , there really are no safe quarters anywhere in the planet.

Removing Biblical Prophecy, or Armstrongism from the thought process, it is difficult to imagine mankind going on 200 years without a major mishap that will plunge the world into a type of "dark ages".

Anon 8:09:00 your thoughts are with musing over, and so are the following thoughts of David:
Psalms 39:4-7 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

And time will tell...

John, can you please stop with the annoying "mickey mouse millennium" stuff? Is that your entire agenda? You continuously repeat it. It is to the point where I see that phrase and I move on, ignoring whatever otherwise insightful analysis you might have.

People can have their minds imprisoned by lies. So when they hear the truth, it just bounces off. In that case, a degree of repetition can help. But there's a limit. As 20.33 had pointed out, John has gone overboard with his Mickey Mouse millennium repetition.

Hey dudes! Shouldn't you be respecting your elders? As we've observed previously, a man reaches a certain age when he remembers 10-20 things most profoundly, and repeats them over and over and over. Heckfire, even our cool idols from American Graffiti are senior citizens at this time! If John sees a little Walt Disney influence in HWA's theology, it just might help wake up some of the COGlodytes. Obviously, we've noted HWA's resemblance to the Wizard of Oz, and even Adolf Hitler numerous times. Besides, most everybody else repeats themselves for the occasional newbie. Gotta reach them, too.

Considering the context, I don't believe that John needs to be "rescued" by anyone. Rather he needs to listen to the constructive feedback.

Anon 6:37 and !!:52 PM,

Re John's asssertion that Armstrong's 1000 Year reign on earth with Jesus Christ for WCG/COG's qualifiers is non- biblical, I do not see any rebuttals on this topic. Is it another, crazy spin-off from Armstrongism? Some feedback is needed before some of us are taken in by this "new" truth.

Can anyone tell me when mankind was not living in uncertain times? Life for mankind has always been uncertain. Doug speaks of the obvious as if he had some special insight lost to the rest of the world. Does he get paid for these writings?

Living in uncertain times. Just like the homeless people all over the cities in the World, ask them about uncertain times; they know more about it than COG leaders. Oh, I forgot if you are homeless, you are a sinner.

Johns' Mickey Mouse millennium has been rebutted many times on this blog. John has remained unpersuaded, and keeps bombarding this site with this point of view. I've concluded that he's envious of those who will be in the millennium.

We're waiting for one last big piece of the puzzle and that's for the strong man of Europe to come on the scene and he's coming soon and when he does then we know the end is literally on the other side of the door.

"We're waiting for one last big piece of the puzzle and that's for the strong man of Europe to come on the scene and he's coming soon and when he does then we know the end is literally on the other side of the door."

Wait. You use the word "literally," yet there must be some figurative component to what you say, unless you specify which building this door is in and whether it is the front, side, or rear door, and whether it is marked "Entrance" or "Exit." Or maybe it is an interior door marked simply "Men" or "Women," on the other side of which would be a likely place for an end to come into view.

And if the door is actually figurative, what about the end? Is it also figurative? A mere chimera to scare everybody with?

I say it most likely is a chimera, considering it is always out there waiting--within the next ten to fifteen years, or actually, now that we have been given new understanding, five to ten at most, or as soon as certain conditions are met (as you propose), or during the next Feast of Trumpets or Passover ceremony (or if not Passover, at least during the following Days of Unleavened Bread). Then, as you imply, as soon as somebody opens the door and either lets the end rush in or lets the occupants swarm out to meet it, all hell breaks loose.

I have lived through so many prophesied Ends that I've decided to follow the advice Candide gave at the end of the satire titled with his name: "Let us cultivate our garden."

Anon, the MMM you still apparently believe in has rightly been considered to be a myth. How so?

To repeat something, Dennis SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 2013 sent out a post on this blogsite regarding: "Are We the Scoffers of I Peter 3 and Are We In Big Trouble?"

And an individual Corky by name, unknown by me, gave some advice that may be worth consideration by you, since you continue to believe the myth of "another Jesus" soon to return to reign on earth. Corky, Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 11:37:00 AM PDT, wrote this comment (about 9 years ago):

"Pointing out the obvious is attacking? Does it matter that 2 billion people believe a lie, is that going to make it true?

The kingdom and judgment day was "at hand" 2,000 years ago. Jesus' return was to be within that generation. The soon return of Jesus was the the main theme of the whole NT Canon and it failed to happen. So, could pointing that out be "rejecting Christ" or attacking people for believing in a myth? I'd say it's attacking the myth but it seems that people would rather believe the myth than face the obvious, written down fact, that they thought "the end of all things is at hand" 2,000 years ago but was not "at hand" at all and they were wrong, wrong, wrong.

Since when is it attacking people to point out that they were and are so obviously wrong?"

I think Corky's advice, considering the myth you continue to believe in,is still timely. Dennis' post is also still timely and current to read should you do that. It's been preserved for your reading pleasure, but will any of this information mean anything to you, 9 years later, or will you remain unpersuaded?

Time will tell...

John

P.S. it's okay if you remain unpersuaded...
