Armstrongism's Biggest Splinter Cult with 148,970 Members!!!!!!!

Everyone knows that of the hundred's of harlot daughters that have split off of the Worldwide Church of God over the last two decades that United Church of God was the largest. Followed by Living Church of God and then Philadelphia Church of God.  The last two are lucky if they can gather 3 - 4,000 together.

But have no fear, the largest COG is here!  Did you know that there is a splinter cult, based in Idaho that has over 148,970 members worldwide?

Welcome to to the world of Church of God Worldwide who claims as its "Assistant Pastor General, Craig Mortin.  Everyone I have talked to have never heard of the guy.  Search as you may, you also will not find out who the official Pastor General is.  For  a splinter cult that claims to be the faithful remnant proclaiming the restored truth, they are far too secretive.

The Church of God Worldwide is an organization built up of brethren around the world, devoted to practicing the true Christianity of which was found within the New Testament Church of God and to announcing the Good News of the Kingdom of God. We are found in many countries around the world.

The Church of God Worldwide has around 148,970 brethren in over 150 congregations around the world. The Church is just a small part of the body of Jesus Christ which has many other like-minded organizations and groups who also announce the same Message as we proclaim.

The Church of God Worldwide (originally Faithful Church of God) had its start at the Feast of Tabernacles in 1995 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with only about 500 brethren.
More About Us
The Church of God Worldwide is an active part of the body of Jesus Christ, with a beginning as a formal organization in 1995. Doctrines are based upon the Bible and are distinct to the Church of God. Our doctrines include the seventh-day Sabbath, a modern application of the ancient Hebrew Holy Day seasons (which also Jesus kept and His disciples, and also the New Testament Church), avoiding certain meats and also avoiding pagan holidays are just a few of the distinct doctrines practiced by the Church.

The Church also traces its origins to the very Church that Jesus founded at the day of Pentecost on 31 C.E. Many of the members of the Church were once members of the Worldwide Church of God (now Grace Communion International). This organization was led originally by the late Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986). Mr. Armstrong restored many plain and precious truths which were only kept by the original New Testament Church.

I never cease to be amazed at how these men who start these various insignificant little splinter cults will so boldly lie!  The truth be told, I bet this little cult has no more than maybe it's original 500 members.  Even that number is suspicious considering that Mortin has lied about  his 148,970 members.

If you are going to lie, you might as well do it boldly.

That seems to be the Church of God heritage since 1936

Lies which boldly go where no lies have gone before.

And ironically, the Word Verification for this comment is "ratelies".

Say, what is it with these "Beta" websites?

Note that April Fool's Day is a Pagan Holiday? They are all a bunch of fools, so doesn't that mean they are pagans?

No word yet on where the Feast of Tabernacles is being kept? Where oh where are they going to stuff all those people (double entendre intended).

And "Is Drinking a Sin?" For them, the answer is yes.

Those who observe Memorial Day in the United States should observe the oath of those in the Armed Forces to defend America:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

The Armstrongist cogs are enemies of the United States, just waiting for the day that it can be destroyed and supplanted. They look to rejoice at foreign invasion to take captives and take away all freedoms of the people.

That seems to be the CHURCH OF GOD heritage since AD 36

I was born and continue to live as a human. One of my parents (the important one to the Pope) is a confirmed catholic. By that set of circumstances, I am counted an adherent of the catholic faith and one of one billion members of the so-called one true universal CHURCH OF GOD. Yet, I refuse to consider myself a member. Talk about lying with statistics.

Returning to the topic, we are discussing a church that claims to be the one true worldwide CHURCH OF GOD that inflates membership numbers to only 148,970 humans. The commenter says that if you are going to lie, you might as well lie boldly. Personally, I think the minister is shooting low when you consider the catholic example.

On the subject of catholics, the catholics of this nation were questioned about their patriotism to the US. It's not as prevalent today, but a generation or two back, the old prejudice was that they supposedly give their allegiance to the Pope only.

But go on, you were saying, "The Armstrongist cogs are enemies of the United States, just waiting for the day that it can be destroyed and supplanted. They look to rejoice at foreign invasion to take captives and take away all freedoms of the people."

Enemies of the state? Nice touch. It is insane hyperbole, but very nice touch.

Maybe he's counting the dead. Others, outside of churchdom have certainly set this precedent. Dead people have always been some of the most enthusiastic voters throughout Chicago's history.

On a related topic, during "The McLaughlin Group" program on PBS last night, a chart was displayed in which the national heritages of Americans were listed by percentage. Interestingly, the percentage for Germans was listed as 16.5%, with Germans actually topping the chart by a substantial margin. Another blow to the bogus British Israelism theory, and yet another fact to make Armstrongites get out their blinders!

Insane hyperbole or biting satire.

A point of view.

Still, you must admit that the Armstrongists really do want to see the United States destroyed:

1) They would see it as confirmation they were right all along;
2) They would see it as the prelude to their leaving for a place of safety;
3) They would welcome it as the prelude to the Great Tribulation;
4) They would see it as the next step as becoming God as God is God when Christ returns, to ply their vengeance against people who insult their sensibilites of ultra conservatism mixed with extreme crazy religious zealotism.

If you really want insane hyperbole, tune into Turner Broadcasting for Roderick Meredith's program -- especially the one with the United States and British Commonwealth in Prophecy.

Then you decide whether or not my little satire deserves the bile or not.

It was a nice touch, wasn't it.

Byker Bob, I saw a study in the 1970s which said that 75% of the population could trace their ancestry back to Germany in one form or another.

So when they come, they're just taking back their family and property?

Still another bon mot of insane hyperbole. I'm on a roll. Or maybe a role.

Jah, ich bin ein deutcher. (I think I got that right. Never studied German.) In fact, Goebels was a distant cousin of mine. My paternal grandmother was a Goebels by birth.

As I've said before, go back far enough and we're all cousins.

I started to have misgivings about British Israelism long before I split with the organization. It's pure nonsense.

According to their front page, Michael W. Stevenson is Pastor General.

In their website's About Us section, and under it's subheading Personal Counsel Is Available, it states, "If you desire to contact a minister or to visit one of our congregations, then you can view a list of these congregations on this website. We will be more than happy to assist."

However, I don't see such a list. (Perhaps it's "invisible", along with the vast majority of their "148,970 brethren")

It also occurred to me that their particular brand of Holy Spirit(who seems to be on a anti-science and anti-arithmetic crusade), has instructed Michael W. Stevenson that "148,970" is progressively the next number after running out of fingers and toes to count on.
